Who I Am

This layout is for the September Lyrics Landing challenge at Seaside Scraps. The Challenge is to use the lyrics from the song Who I Am by Jessica Anderson -

The spitting image of my father

And when the day is done my momma's still by biggest fan

Sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy

But I've got friends that love me

And they know just where I stand

It's all a part of me

And that's who I am.

Fall Colors

Love the cooler weather and less humidity, but with it comes the Fall Colors. Here's a picture of one of our small trees with the fall colors.

Pumpkin Patch

When the guys were little they loved going to the pumpkin patch and picking out their pumpkins. Here is a couple of pages dedicted to pumpkin picking.

The page titles are made from my "Cricut" George Font at 1 inch. The flowers are punched and doubled to resemble the fall mums. I used the scalloped punch to create the photo corners. You will need to cut out two ovals per page. Cut each oval in half, then fold into a triangle shape.

The pumpkins are made from ovals. I used three ovals per pumpkin and inked the edges of each oval. I also used the Cricut to cut out the tags, patterned paper at 3 1/2 inches and solid paper at 4 inches. The photo mat with pumpkin stamped on it is from Close to my Heart and it is the Doodle Alphabet.

Candle Art

I thought I would try my hand at a candle wrap with tissue paper. I first stamped on a pale yellow tissues paper with yellow paint. I then cut the tissues paper to fit around the candle. With the heat gun I heated the candle and tissues paper into the candle. I tied a ribbon on to the candle then decided it needed something else. I pulled apart a flower and made the charm to attach around the ribbon.

Paper Candy

Korin at Inky Doodle has been making Paper Candy . She has some great samples. Here are a few that I tried.

I punched flowers twice out of the same paper, outlined the flowers stacked them together and glued in a sparkly or a three beads. The leaves are cut out free hand and glued on the back of the flowers.

Here are a few dimensional pumpkins made with the template. I used both the 1.25" x 1.50" and the .75" x 1" ovals. Inked around the ovals and attached stems.

I thought I would try my hand at making some apples. Katydid Creations has a tutorial on how to make these apples. You can find it here

All of these projects are made with scrap paper.

Autumn Cards

I just had to try out my leaf stamps with the chalk and versamark ink. I used the square punch to punch a template of my card front. On white card stock lay the template on top and chalk in the square. Ink the stamp with the Versamark ink and stamp on top of the chalked area. Let the ink dry about 5 minutes and then apply chalk in the same color as the background. This will make your stamped chalk design pop out. On the inside of the card I used the LainieDay font on vellum paper.

I did the same technique with a Christmas theme, but I'm not liking the way this card turned out. The inside of the card is again on vellum paper with the following fonts, Juice, Chevalier, and Allembert.

Baby Album

I have been making a a baby album for my niece. Wouldn't you know the baby was here before I was done. I finished Sunday and here are a few of the pages. We knew she was going to have a boy so I designed them with that in mind. It is a combination of Digital Scrapbooking and stamping.

I have a couple pages of the mini file folders in them. L0ts of journaling boxes and pages she can customize to what is happening.

Crochet Afghan patterns

Here is a couple of afghans I am currently working on. Both of them are crocheted.

The first is called the Fisherman's Ring and I found the pattern on this site by Priscilla Hewitt, here. I am acutally using up some scrap yarn so I have a couple different colors of tan yarn.

This one is also from scrap yarn the constant is the red, white, and blue. As you can see I keep changing them around. This pattern is by Edith Smith and I found it on this website.
