Let It Snow and Santa Clause

As you know I have been making 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook pages for Pam for her first grandchild. I am so glad I waited to do these pages(mainly because of lack of time), but my DH got me two Cricut cartridges for Christmas: All Mixed Up and Fabulous Finds. I just love these two cartridges. I know I say that after I start using each new cartridge. The paper pieced patterns for both page sets are from Scrap that smile.

Let It Snow: I made two paper pieced snowmen with mittens and googly eyes, inking around the edges of each piece. Using the scallop punch I made the photo corners. I also inked around the edges of the title.

Santa Clause: I made a paper pieced Santa, Reindeer, and Tree. I chalked around Santa and the tree and used markers on the reindeer. Using the All Mixed Up Cartridge for the tile and the Fabulous Finds for the book plate and mini file folders. The packages on the title are just paper scraps with glitter. Once again I used the scallop punch to make the photo corners.

Recipe:

Let It Snow: Paper: The Christmas cardstock and miscellaneous left over paper, Cricut Cartridges: All Mixed Up, Fabulous Finds, and Walk In My Garden Other: googly eye, foam dots, brads, white ink, blue, black, red and orange markers, scallop punch, white ribbon.

Santa Clause: Paper: The Christmas cardstock and miscellaneous left scraps Cricut Cartridges: All Mixed Up, Fabulous Finds Stamp: snowflake from Inkadinkado Ink: green and white Other: googly eyes, foam dots, brads, scallop punch, glitter, brown and black markers, chalk, ribbon.

Happy Birthday...

to my younger sister Pam. I have made her a birthday card using the SheetLoad of cards September issue. It took just minutes to make this. I inked all the edges of the pieces with purple and arranged them out using a temporary adhesive. When I had them in a pleasing order I then glued them in place. After gluing the ribbon on the front I stamped Happy Birthday.

I made the vellum envelope using the UHU glue stick. This is now my favorite glue for vellum. There is no glue line to be seen.

Recipe: Card: Stamps: Doodle Alphabet, Petals Plus Ink: purple and green Paper: Beyond Birthdays from Cricut , scraps Other: white ribbon, glue, card stock from The Stampin Place
Envelope: Stamps: Elegant Flourishes Paint: Acrylic Violet Pearl, UHU envelope sealer glue

Christmas Candles

I found this ribbon at Home Goods and just had to buy it. At the time I had no idea what I would use it for. Then I decided to make some candles for my co worker's. I then sewed on gold beads at each pleat intersection and made candle sleeves that they can use over next year.
I then decided painted the tags green, applied Crackle and painted white. The pine cone stamp is embossed in copper and glitter is added to the top. The pine boughs are embossed in clear and glitter. I used my Cricut to cut out the JOY using George and the Basic Shapes cartridge. I then used my watermark stamp and stamped each letter, applied two coats of silver embossing powder.
I used left over Christmas paper and the dollar store paper bags to make the gift bags. I used my Cricut, Celebrations cartridge, to cut the scallop in red. I made the word tag in Adobe Photoshop. The snowflakes are chipboard painted white and clear glitter applied.

After looking at the bags for a few days and thinking they still needed something I added a silver metal snowflake to the top left corner of the green paper, a silver brad to the right corner, and a white brad in the center of each snowflake.
Recipe: Stamps: Pine cone foam stamp, Take Flight from Close to My Heart - Large Pine and Small Pine Bough Ink: Versamark ink, Green ink Paper: Christmas Paper scraps, white, red, green from The Christmas Cardstack textured card stock Paint: white, green, crackle finish Other: Cricut Cartridges George and the Basic Shapes, Celebrations, snowflake chip board, clear glitter, Ice Stickles Crystal Ice, foam dots, tag, metal snowflake, white and silver brads, paper bag with handles

Inspiration

Tim Holtz has been doing a "12 Tags of Christmas" on his blog where he is posting a tag a day with a tutorial on how the tag was made. I now have added to my list of must have products. I want to experiment with each one.

I have also found Maria Filos's UHU Project Blog and ordered her sample of the month. I am going to make a couple of vellum envelopes with the Envelope Glue she sent for some last minute Christmas cards.

Wednesday, December 13th the winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today will be available online and I can hardly wait.

Caardvarks is featuring a different PageMap card sketch every day this week.
