Valentine's Day

I've made a template for Valentine's Day. Mine has the beautiful flowers DH brought home - they smell wonderful in February. It gives me cabin fever. Click here for the template

Glad and Trust

I've been making my own word art on the computer each week. My handwriting can be difficult to read at times and I wanted this project to be readable. I used Essentials Alphabet set to punch the titles of the tabs and the scallop punch for the tab.

Week 7: Glad
I used the font Vivaldi Italic at 20 pt for this.

Week 8 Trust
I used the font RomanScr D at 14 pt.

March CD Calendar

Once again I used scrap paper for this project. I stopped by Michael's and picked up the mini bird punch for a $1. I used my 1" circle punch and punched the bird first then punched the circle to create the scallops.
The bird is cut with my Cricut and I have pop up dots behind the wings.

The bird is layered on top of a pop up dot, a button and another pop up dot to give it extra depth. The March circle only has a pop up dot behind it.

Back In Time . . .

Jessica Sprague is have another giveaway for a free class. You need to check out her blog here. So here is my favorite picture of a person that I have taken.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my guys. We were visiting the zoo in Seattle, Washington and the guys were struggling up the hill. I took this picture with a point and shoot camera, and even though the picture is crummy the memories are priceless.

Valentine Mail

I picked up these mailboxes at Target for $1 and thought they would make great little Valentine's Day treat holders. They were really easy to do one I had a template made up for them.

I made a template for the mail layer of paper as I wanted to cut around the flag. I moved the flag to the bottom and started the paper on this side as far down from the top as I could go. I used Mode Podge for the bottom layer of paper. After going around and back up this side I moved the flag up and cut around the flag arm. This was the trickiest part of the whole thing.

I used my cuttle bug to run the red craft foam through with the Fiskars Heart Texture Plate then used the scallop punch to punch the foam out. The white cardstock is embossed with the D'vine Swirl embossing folder and punched with the next size smaller scallop punch. The hearts are punched from pink glitter paper and attached with pop up dots.

With the plain pink paper I use the stamp die to cut two and embossed them with the heart embossing folder. I used pop up dots to attach them to each side of the flag.

Using the dotted from from the monogram and frame stamp set I stamped in white card stock and punch it out with the 1 3/8" punch, the back is punched from left over papers. From the red foam I punched a 1" circle. I stamped the initial on white card stock and punched it out using the 1/2" circle. These are layered together using pop up dots and a piece of pink ribbon around the flag.

I used a piece of the Fresh Paint Metallics pink paper for the decorated pen, red line tape and microbeads.

Recipe: Paper: Fresh Paint Metallic Patterns pink and red, The Luxury Stack pink, white, pink, a striped paper and pink glitter paper I had left over, Foam: Red Cuttlebug, Dies - Stamp, Embossing Folders - Heart Stamp, D'vine Swirl, Fiskars Texture Plates - hearts Punches: scallop punches, 1 3/8", 1", and 1/2" circle punches, folk heart Stamps: monogram and frame from Martha Stewart Ink: red and black Misc: glue, pop up dots, Modge Podge, Red line tape, micro beads - clear

Change and Peace

I finally decided to use the 7 Gypsies ATC Holder. Since I started with the intent of using a Rolodex I'm keeping the card size the same for the Rolodex. All of the edges have been inked and for the tabs I just used scraps of paper and rounded the corners. I had been using an xacto knife and a punch for the slots and my hubby found for the punch made especially for the 7 Gypsies - he's the greatest.

Week Six: Peace

I used a punch that mom had in her supplies I have no idea who made it as there is not manufacturer on it, I really like it and it's on it's last leg so I'll have find a replacement. The ric rac is scraps and the letters for Peace are from an alphabet set from Joann's. For the font I used Elegant

Week Five: Change

The foam letters for Change are from Mom's stash, the silk flowers are from left over projects. The leaf/flower punched in green are ones from mom also. She had an embroidery box that had them in one of the compartments. For the font I used Little Lord Fauntleroy.

Recipe: Punches: Leaf, Scrap Essentials Alphabet set, small leaf/flower punch, corner rounder Papers: Scraps Misc: Silk flowers, brads, ric rac, foam letters, glue Fonts: Elegant, Little Lord Fauntleroy

Getting ready for Valentine's Day

I was at Splitcoast Stampers looking around and saw a card Silke Ledlow created and cased it, her blog is My Life.

I first embossed the red paper with the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder. I created the word art to fit into my 1 3/8" circle punch and printed it on white. The inner red circle is part of the word art. I then made a red circle and black scallop is made using the corner rounder punch. The heart is punched using the Folk Heart punch from Paper Shapers and the one side is cut down to fit into the circle and are on pop up dots. Add some black ribbon and a couple of gems and I have one card and tag done.

The ribbon is carried to the inside of the card and covered with another piece of the embossed red. The heart stamp is one from the Heartful of Love set.

If you would like the word art click here.

February Desktop

February's Wallpaper was a lot easier to make. I did have to change the size to accommodate the new monitor which is 1440 x 900. I used a digital kit by Teri Hanson called Love Inspired, you can find her shop here. I made the February calendar to fit into the punctuation frame. The frame is from Digital Compilations by Cinda and she can be found here. The word art used fonts Bell MT at 36pt and Scriptina for Tomorrow and Today at 125pt. Click here for the Calendar, here for the word art, and here if you want the wallpaper Template.
