Sled Tag

I used George for the shape of my sled, but you can use a square and round the top. The size of the square is 3x6 inches. I used a circle punch to cut the half circle out of the bottom of the sled. I then cut my sled into three parts; I cut the left and right sides to 1 inch. I used a scrap of card stock for the slats under neath the sled. The holly and the skate are cut from Joys of the Seasons and the mini tag is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More.

I inked the edges of the holly in green and the skate and mini tag in brown. The flower on the tag is punched from two different scraps of red and layered onto the tag.

Underneath the flower is the holly berry stem that I had a piece left over from another project. It was cut from the Joys of the Seasons Cartridge also. I used Rhinestones for the holly berries and for the flower center. I used pop up dots behind the holly berries and the one leaf and underneath the skate. The mini tag is strung with candle wicking thread and attached behind the skate and holly.

This is a really quick tag to put together and is baby bug compatible. Click here for the cut file.

Recipe: Paper: Card stock for sled, scraps of green, red, white, silver and black. Ink: green, brown; Cartridges: George, Joys of the Season, Tags, Bag, Boxes and More; Misc: Rhinestones, glue, pop up dots, candle wicking thread.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

The Faith Sisters Christmas challenge this year is the 12 Days of Christmas. Here is my layout for A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

I am using the kit they made for the challenge. The font I used is Black Chancery.

Pocket Tag

Cut card stock 2 1/4 x 12 inches, score at 4 inches and fold. I made faux stitching by poking holes along the sides and drawing a line with a black marker. The flower and leaves are left over from a previous project.

Paper Tole Tag

I downloaded Christmas Bella from Wendy's Digital Doodling. Wendy has instruction on downloading and printing out her Digital Stamps if you have never done this. I printed her out 4 times leaving room around one of the images as it was going to be my tag base. I colored this one and another one completely. The third image I colored everything but the bottom of her coat and down. The third image I only colored her muff. I then used pop up dots behind each layer and Glitter Ice Stickles on the to layers for her fur trim. So far she's my favorite tag.

Shaped Tag

Using the Christmas Cheer cartridge I cut the stocking on page 94 in red, shadow in maroon and the accents pieces in white glitter paper. I embossed the red stocking with the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I scored the maroon about a 1/4 inch from the right side of the stocking. I used the white stocking top to trace the corners on the red and maroon stocking and cut of the handing tag, as I will replace mine with a piece of lace. I inked the white accents with antique distress ink.

From Accent Essential I cut the flower on page 57 using the Shadow Shift function. I cut two out of dark red, I only used one inked the edges in red. I cut from white the label on page 79 using the Shadow Shift feature and inked the edges in red.

From Joys of the Seasons I cut the Holly on page 69 at two different sizes out of green card stock. Each piece is inked. I used a whole holly cut on the top of the stocking and cut the second one apart and placed the pieces behind the flower. I cut off the left leaf and the bottom of the stem from the large holly cut and used it at the bottom of the label.

Click here for the cut file and is baby bug compatible.

Circle Flower Tag

With my circle punch, I used 1 3/8", I punched 9 circles, you may have to punch more circles depending on the size of your punch. I used one for my base and 7 for the petals which were folded in a triangle shape, placed side by side onto my base. You can press them down flat, roll them, fold them so that part of them stay up - which is what I did.

Fold the last circle in half , place at top of tag and punch. I ran my twine through first then attached the eyelet.

I used my Cricut to cut the red felt flower from Accent Essentials and traced the flower onto the white felt. I just could not get the white felt to cut. It was a looser weaver than the red so maybe that is why. I added a button and a ribbon bow to finish them off.

These tags come together pretty quick.

This one is from two sheets of Designer paper glued together, then I punched my circles.

Faux Silk Tag

I stamped on tissue paper in brown ink and colored in with watercolor pencils. I used Stickles on the white trim of Santa's suit and little starts. Using the George and the Basic Shapes Cartridge I cut the stars out at 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inches in yellow card stock. After gluing them on I stickled them.

Thanksgiving Card

Here is the card I did for my monthly swap. My card base is made from brown card stock. I punched a border out of the rust and dark blue card stock, then layered on a piece from the DCVW The Stack cut to . On top of that I glued a strip of Apricot Bias Tape, then made a bow out of another piece and glued that on top. The small strip of paper at the top is from the RetroPrints cut out at. I stamped the leaves with clear embossing ink and embossed with three different kinds of embossing power. This is from a set I picked up from Michael's that has several little bottles in it.

For the inside of the card I used Speaking of Fall and George to create the mat. I cut the background out of white card stock, the leaves with once in brown and again in three different pattern papers, then glued them all together. I did have to trim on the left hand side the branch to match it up with the mat.

I inked my stamp with Clear Embossing Ink and stamped the outside of the envelope along the left hand side and used the same three embossing powders on the envelope.

Santa and Cookies

My youngest son picked out an album that has the 4x6 and 8x8 sleeves for his friends baby album. Sometimes I find it harder to do the smaller pages. To go along with the Santa page in the previous post I did these really simple 4x6 pages.

The scallop is once again from Design Studio and George cartridge. I have foam dots along the outside edge of the scallop so that they can tuck a picutre(s) in and it will go almost to the very edge. I stamped in green the Santa and Cookie then punched them out with the Martha Stewart scallop punch.

Santa

I cased this layout from Paper Fections. I just love her bingo cards and she has two sizes. I made layouts in two different sizes 12x12 and 8x8.

I made a scallop border from George for the green trim. The tag is from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. I printed the 2009 on my computer using Book Antiqua Font at 48pt, then placed it on my mat and cut using Design Studio. I then used Versa Mark Ink and Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel and glued it inside my tag. The 12 and 25 are printed at 36pt, sponged with red ink, punched, embossed using Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel and punched with a circle punch. I stamped "Santa" then cut them apart and glued it to the bingo card.

The snowflakes are from Accent Essentials and are cut at 3" and 2" then glittered. There are pop dots behind the first layer.

For the 8x8 scrapbook I cut "Santa" with the Winter Woodland cartridge with a height of .759 as I my alphabet stamps are either to large or to small for the space in the small bingo card. I kept the tag the same size as the larger scrapbook page, but went with a smaller size font of 30 pt for the "12" and "25". The snowflakes are cut at 2" and 1 1/2".

Click here for the cut file for the tag.

Tag Scrapbook Page

I did a couple of layouts based on this one from Christmas with the Cricut. I used a tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and the photo corners are from Jasmine. For the 8x8 album I placed the photo horizontally. I also used pop up dots behing the photo corners.

The tag for the 8x8 album is a little bit big for the for the 6x12 mat. You could squash the tag to fit vertically and then cut a rectangle for the bottom of the tag and piece it together.

The Wonder of You

This layout is made with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge only. I used two different fonts from the Plantin Schoolbook to create title. Each piece is inked and then glued down. I used pop up dots behind the rectangle photo mat so that the tag would easily slide in and out.
