Forgeries on the Fourth

I have a couple of forgeries this month for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge using my September Counterfeit Kit - Summer Festival

I'm starting with the Blue and white paper with the grid.

I masked the white paper with painters tape and then painted the blue diagonal. I did both 12"x12" paper and 8 1/2" x 11" paper since I scrap both sizes.

I removed the painters tape and let the paper dry overnight trying  not to get any blue paint on the white sides.  I did and will cover it up when I scrap.

Then using painters tape I taped it to my quilting mat and drew  on the stripes with a black marker.

First forgery done and onto the next.

I have a secret I have to share - I have very little Washi Tape and  all of the Studio Calico Kits has Washi Tape in them, there is gold plus signs washi, gold hash tag washi, and gold line washi,. Normally I just leave it out of my kit and continue on.   So I decided to make a few of my own. I pulled out the Gold Acrylic paint, a couple of stencils and the paper tape.

This is what I came up with. The really messy one is because I had the stencil the wrong side up and my paint was just going every where. Now the real question is will I actually use them?

Second forgery done and onto the my last one.

Well I fell in love with the Art Planner page in the August Kit and decided I could make something similar. To make my template I started with a white piece of cardstock (mine is 6 1/2" x 8 3/4") and drew the white diagonal line for my first cut. After that it was a just a matter of cutting and labeling each piece.

Remember to flip you pattern over when tracing you lines and to label each piece on the back.  this is what my finished paper looks like.

Cardstock: Light Pink, Dark Pink, Yellow, Brown, Light Blue, Orange, and Black

Now I just need to put them all to use.

Good job on these - I applaud you for taking the time to create that last sheet. It was an eye-catching element to the kit!

These are really fantastic forgeries! I admire the patience it took to create the patterned paper and the washi tapes are amazing. (I don't have much in my stash either!)

Great job with that grid paper. So simple and so effective. I went ahead and added a link to your blog on the CKC Forgeries on the Fourth post. Thank you so much for your contribution.

Super! How creative to make your own washi. I considered the blue grid paper but yours is really good. But that bright paper is incredible! what fabulous colours you chose! A super set of forgeries - well done!
