September

is the start of school for most so I thought that this chalkboard would be perfect for this months CD Calendar. I've had these little chalkboards forever, they were left over for teacher gifts I had made when the guys were in school. I had received samples of UHU Tac and UHU Glue Stick in August and this project is made using the samples with the exception of the temporary adhesive.

The black background is cut 4 3/4" square and the focal paper is cut 4 1/2" inches square. The calendar is made from Microsoft Publisher and mounted on a striped paper from Rock Star and a black mat.

Using Design Studio and the Printing Press cartridge I cut out September. I then used a temporary glue stick and centered "September" and the inside of the letters e, p, and b onto the chalk board and sponged on acrylic paint.

The apples are made from scrap green paper and cut out using the Cricut cartridge Paper Dolls Dress Up. Each apple is shaded with chalk and the stem is colored using a brown pen. Using the UHU Tack behind a large apple along with the glue stick raises it above the calender and the chalkboard, so that it pops out. I did the same to the little apple on the top right corner (see picture below).

After the calendar was placed on the chalkboard, I used a white oil pastel to hand write the A+ on the board, then sprayed with a fixative.

Recipe: Paper: Black, Rock Star paper pack, scraps of green and white for the calendar Cricut: Printing Press, Paper Dolls Dress Up Misc: UHU Glue Stick, UHU Tac, temporary glue stick, chalk, Acrylic paint, chalkboard, brown pen, oil pastels.

Beautiful project. Great for back-to-school. My son went off to his first day of Kindergarten today and starting to realize how important keeping a calendar will be. Thanks again fro requesting your sample at www.gluewithuhu.com.
