Counterfeit Kit Challenge 1,000 Blog Post Challenge

There is an additional Counterfeit Kit Challenge at the blog to celebrate their 1,000 post and you can check it out here. The Challenge is:

1. Create a Counterfeit PAGE Kit of your own, based on a current kit (could be a kit club, digital kit, or paper collection)
2. Make up a challenge and create a project based on that challenge
3. Share both the inspiration kit and your kit, your challenge, and your project on your blog. E-mail the link at counterfeitkitchallenge@yahoo.com

So I did a lot of surfing the internet and found this one

from The Scrappy Gourmet.  The kit includes 5 sheets of 12x12 pattern paper, wood shapes and chip tiles, plus 3 sheets of 12x12 cardstock, 1/2 sheet of embossed cardstock, 1 stick pin, a strip of torn muslin and buttons. They have also included several inks in the kit.

1. Create a Counterfeit Page Kit: Here is my take on their kit:

I actually had two sheets of the Pink Paislee - Nantucket in my stash - just different colors and patterns, then I added two unknown Rhonna Farrer papers, a paper by Autumn Leaves and a SEI  paper to finish off my pattern paper (I have one more than the kit).  I had the chipboard tiles so I stuck them in and am hoping to use the letter stickers for as an embellishment.

I included 4 sheets of white cardstock to use as my backgrounds and a textured green and another unknown green.  I have a large chipboard circle, a few buttons, and I'm exchanging the wooden starfish for sea shells.  I've included three embossing folders as I don't know which one I'll actually use. For my title I will be using the Cricut Cartridge Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art and I'll grab one of my pre-made stick pins. I also substituted the muslin for some canvas.

2. Make up a challenge and create a project based on that challenge: My challenge is to use distressing on your project.

From my kit I pulled the white cardstock, Autumn Leaves - Epiphany Life Is, Rhonna Farrer - unknown name; SEI Doodley Doodley do girl; and a few pieces punched from the other pages for my banner.

I started by cutting the "Life is" paper in half.  I added a piece of the stripe paper by Rhonna Farrer, and matted the photo not the SEI paper.  All of the papers are distressed and inked.

Then I added my banners and a torn piece of the canvas.  To tear the canvas first cut into the material then start your tearing process. I did pull some DIY enamel dots out of my stash to finish off the banner.  I really wanted to use the tattered flower for this but just couldn't get it to work.

Now it's your turn to be challenged by the Counterfeit Kit Challenge and find yourself a page kit to Counterfeit.

Nicely kitted and scrapped. Distressing is one of those things that adds a little extra touch, that I never remember or take time to do. Great challenge.

Thx for playing along! I like that, judging from your comments, you first chose the kit & executed that, then decided what the challenge would be, then prepared your layout. Your page was very graphic with the distress techniques setting the elements.
