I'm using my September Summer Festival kit that I put together from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog's inspiration. Every year the Boy Scouts stop by selling flower baskets and plants and they are delivered around Mother's Day. This year I had an unexpected guest move into one of the flower baskets. She built her nest and hatched one little birdie.
I have a couple sheets of the tree leaf paper in my Counterfeit Kit and thought it would be a good background for the photos of the Boy Scout flower basket and the bird that her home in it.
I cut down the tree paper and used my gold Calligraphy pen to outline the paper along with the brown cardstock mat.
I stamped and embossed the "spread your wing a little more each day" on the tracing paper and added it to the center of the doily. The orange punched strip is from my scrap pile.
I used the Songbird Cartridge and cut out the Tweet with the birdhouse attached. I then hand cut off the birdhouse, traced around it to make a pattern then cut it out of the pink foam sheet.
The Pop Art has a couple of tags in their kit so I made one for my journaling. I added my DIY gold messy washi tape to the tag along with a couple of enamel dots. Since I had outlined the pink Birdhouses I thought I should outline the pink on my tag.
The journaling reads:
Miss Dove decided the flower basket from the Boy Scouts is the perfect place for her new nest.
Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful layout - love those little birdhouses, what a perfect embellishment for this page
That tree paper is perfect for the photo and I like the way you tucked everything in along the top. We had a pair of robins nesting outside one of our windows this spring and were completely captivated watching the eggs hatch.
I would never have thought to use the tree paper as a background but it looks FAB! Really like how the gold accents add such importance to what some might consider an ordinary memory. I love to scrap these kind of things! Beautiful :~)
Beautiful layout Cindy :) Good use of the leaf paper and the perfect backdrop for the pictures. You captured some cool pictures of the nest and the bird :) love how you did the layering and cool way to use tracing paper too :) Look like you embossed directly onto the doily :)
Very nice, I like how you nested the embellishments.
This is such a cute layout! I love all of the little details - it must have taken such a long time to do all of the gold edging!
How wonderful that she picked your flower basket for her next - she looks so cosy! Great use of those embellishments and the paper really is perfect
