My papers are really different from the kit. My three guy's tend to by paper packs for me so the majority of my papers are from them. I didn't have a dark blue with the flowers or polka dots to pull inspiration from so I used the kit just for color inspiration. For my kit I pulled shades blue/dark blue papers for specific photos. I kept the pink in the kit as I want to do a couple of layouts of both my of Grandma's and Mom. I substituted tans and orange for the gold paper. I rounded it out with a couple of single sheets of blues, teal, yellow and a couple of sheets of multi colors in the polka dot and banner paper.
I didn't include cardstock and vellum in this kit as I will pull it as I need it and may even add a transparency with my die cuts.
I also liked the Daily Special kit and have print and cut several of my label files to include while I'm scrapping. I plan to "forge" the 4x6 Die cut cards with the Silhouette or Cricut. I also made a Polaroid file using my Silhouette and think I have one of the View Master so I will cut them as I need them. I'm also planning on using several of my dies - like the film strip die with the vellum or cardstock.
I keep my embellishments in jars by colors so I'll pull those as I need them. I also thought I would pull out the stamps as I create the layouts.
Since I've been scanning Mom and Dad's Photos I realize I just need to take the time to scrap my own. I've found several that I didn't even know they had taken pictures of so it will be really cool when I include them in my guy's albums. I also want to do a few blank pages for them to put their own photo's on. Now to make the time to do a little scrapping.
