Counterfeit Kit August Blog Hop

Happy Sunday and thanks for joining us on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Leslie and will need to continue onto Lisa who is the last stop of the hop.

This month the three challenges are:
Challenge #1 One Layer: No paper layering, just embellishments!
Challenge #2 Sketch Challenge: Can you stretch this card sketch to suit?
Challenge #3 Vellum: Find a way to incorporate vellum.

I chose to complete Challenge #3 Vellum: Find a way to incorporate vellum.

I started by finding a photo I wanted to use as my main focal piece.  I adjusted the Opacity setting and changed it to 60%, then changed my paper setting to Other Transparency Films for printing. I printed my photo and walked away to let it dry. It takes the vellum a little bit longer to dry so printing and then leaving it for awhile is a great idea.  I then cut the white cardstock just a bit smaller than the vellum photo so that there is a border around the pictures made with the vellum.

I sized the photo down for my 81/2 x 11 layout. (you can click on the picture for a close up)

The second way I used vellum is to emboss it.  I used the Tim Holtz Mini Ray folder and cut a strip of vellum and emboss it then used ink pads and a baby wipe to apply and move the ink around.

I did the same thing for the 8 1/2 x 11 layout, but used a smaller strip of vellum.
From here you should be heading to Lisa at Recklinghausen Musings to she what she has created for the Challenge. I have the whole hop posted below if you want to start at the beginning or just get lost along the way.

Beautiful uses of vellum and a great way to highlight accent photos, yet include a larger vista. Great job!

And the prize for most unique and imaginative use of the challenge media goes to...Cindy's creation! You have knocked it out of the ball park, with printing and embossing. What a beautiful layout.
