Counterfeit Kit Challenge - January 2017

Hi everyone, thanks for joining us at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I'm excited to be a quest designer for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month. You should have arrived from The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and the complete list of the hop is below. The kit we're counterfeiting is the Kaiser Craft Ubda dreams collection.

Kylie from Shop'n'Crop has provided the inspiration kit.

Love the combination of teals, blues browns and tans in this kit. Now for my January Counterfeit Kit - New Beginnings Kit. For most of 2016 I pulled my kits and sorted them into page sets. I did not do that this time. I just pulled everything and put it into my Iris Container.

Bo Bunny – The Avenues “Doors”, DIY Paper, Recollections – Teal Paisley; Color Bok - DIY Paper.
I pulled from three different collections of Color Bok - French Prep, Mint Julep and Delilah.  I didn't realize that I pulled in so much tan and brown so I reserve the right to add more teal and blue after I
have used up this paper. I will also be adding cardstock as needed as there is only two pieces in here.

I've pulled twine in the browns and tans, Creative Imagination -Magnet paperclips, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Key holes, a few sheets and scraps of the Crate Paper 6x6 - Portrait Collection, My Art - Clothespins, Heidi Swapp - clips, a few flowers and ribbons, Unity Stamps journal card with buttons and flowers, 3 House paper clips from Simon Says Stamps, Brown and Tan fun foam feathers (left over from another layout), Prima Vintage Emporium Collection – Wood Embellishments and a stick pin from an exchange in 2010 along with a crochet flower from another exchange.

I've added a few mixed media items to my supplies. One of my goals this year is to complete a Mixed Media type layout once a month.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Denim Blue; Heidi Swapp – Color Shine in Tea, Art Screen Ink – Mint and Silver.
Stamps: Making Memories Foam Stamps – Hearts (heart key) and Floral: Inkadinkado - Flourishes
Graphic 45 – Shabby Chic Metal Door Plates and Knobs; Tim Holtz idea-ology Work Keys; making Memories – Spiral Journal Book; Prima Flowers – Spring Mix in blue and off white
Stencils: Silhouette files; Art Minds – Lace Accents and unknown;
Fun foam in teal, brown and tan.
Dies: Tim Holtz Alterations – Pediments

Ooh, I love the direction that you took with this kit - the lean towards the browns/tans and the incorporation of shabby chic and vintage. Lovely to have you as the GDT this month!

I love the colors and patterns that you chose-you stayed true to the original kit, but did a great job of making it your own!

Your kit pieces have a very "Kaisercraft" feel to them. I like the mixed media items you added. So glad you are featured this month. You are always such a faithful participant.

I like that you concentrated on the neutrals and the blues that you did add really pop against them. The vintage embellishments are very pretty too.
