Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1 - List It!

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1 - List It! We are using the Not Just For Boys Kit Club December "Flurries" Deluxe Theme Kit.

Lisa has this to say about our first challenge for January, " One of the papers features a pocket page card with a list of fun winter activities and at January, some of us make lists for the new year with resolutions, goals or just plants for the year. So, let's get listing and feature some sort of list on your page!"

I'm using my January 2021 - Snow for my papers and embellishments

We had Christmas Eve dinner with the kids. Wouldn't you know it we had a blizzard December 23rd. I was fulling expecting the kids to call and postpone until after the new year as the roads were a mess, Ice covered and most of them were closed do to the accidents and now getting plowed. I shrunk down my list to show just the last three items on it.  1. Baby proof the outlets, 2. Turn on the Christmas Lights and 3. Set the table.

With Derek being born last year this is really his first Christmas and he is a crawling machine right now, we are expecting him to walking any day. The first thing on my list is that I need to Derek proof the outlets. Our Christmas lights are on timers so they had to be taken off the timers and the third is to set the table.

I'm also using a sketch from Shannon Allor's She's Crafty - A Mini Paper Pad Class Sketch #1. It's a free class that started this year. You can check it on her YouTube Channel.

I turned the sketch onto its side rotating it to the left.

I used the holly and berry for my background, then layered the 6x6 paper and the scraps under my photo. I used a 3x4 journaling card for my list, and punched a few snowflakes from a white polka dot scrap. I even found a green ribbon with poinsettia on it as an additional layer.

Be sure to hop on over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog as we have Guest Designer Tamara, Master Forger Tara and Master Forger Leslie to inspire you with their List It! layouts.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Forgeries on the Fourth

Welcome back. I have a few forgeries for out January 2021 Inspiration kit from Not Just For Boys. We are using their "Flurries" Deluxe Theme kit.

In the kit was a Cocoa cut file and a sticker sheet - the Carta Bella "Winter Market" 12x12 Sticker sheet which I am basing most of my embellishments on.

I did not have story to tell about Cocoa and I really wanted to use this December Grid from the Cut Shoppe. I was actually able to cut 3 of these out, two for 12x12 pages and one for an 8 1/2x11 page. I have a few boo boo's on this one but I can cover them with embellishments.  From one of the cut apart sheets I cut a part a few of the words that I know I will use on my layouts. Then I punched a few white snowflakes and added in some silver glitter paper die cut bows and snowflakes. There wasn't really any silver in the kit except for the brads but I have winter going on and it will look great on my winter pages. I stamped and fuzzy cut a few snowflakes to match my kit and fuzzy cut a few of the olive holly leaves that is from a scrap.

The Snowman, Penguin and holly leaves are from a font that I had downloaded last year and did not use. The green trees are from Paper Issues along with the snowflake background. I will separating the snowflakes as I need them. The trees are cut from K and Company Darks Color Basics Paper Pad (2015) and the snowflakes are from and old DCWV paper pad that had all the shimmer type paper in it.

Don't forget to stop by the Counterfeit Kit Blog to see what the other Master Forgers created for their kits. Thanks so much for stopping by.

January 2021 Counterfeit Kit Reveal and Blog Hop

Welcome to the January 2021 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit Reveal and Blog Hop. Lisa is up this month and has picked out the Not Just For Boys Kit Club: https://notjustforboyskitclub.com She is basing our January Kit on their "Flurries" Deluxe Theme Kit which is sold out but the photos and details are still available on their site.

The kit can be found here - there are also close up of it in this link.

Our Guest Designer this month is Tamara,  so be sure to giver her a warm welcome. As always the blog list is below.

Now for my kit - CKC January 2021 - Snow:

For the papers The snowmen just make me smile and I have a picture I want to tuck behind them:

I've pulled paper from four paper pads DCWV - The Christmas Stack, DCWV - The Holiday Collection - The Christmas Stack, DCWV Unknown papers as it was part of stack that is used up all but this Winter Collection, Recollections - Bright and Jolly Paper pad. These are all really old papers with the newest being the Bright and Jolly paper pad. To this I've added cardstock, a woodgrain from Simple Stories - woodgrain and gingham paper pad (2017). I'll be adding more cardstock as I go. I did cut a "December" grid from white cardstock. I just didn't have a story to tell about cocoa and I really wanted to use this file instead - I did cut it in white cardstock so hopefully that counts.

For my embellishments: I pulled three sheets of cut aparts from my paper pads. I have wood veneer in "Merry Christmas" three different snowflakes and tree, felt tree, giant brads in white, green and red, DIY bows in silver and gold glitter paper, Crafters Square - silver snowflakes, red circle gems and green tear drops, Make it Christmas - Christmas light bulb, Recollections Christmas brads, Crystal Stickers - Glitter Dome in red, white, blue and silver, punched snowflakes, and some embellishments left over from other kits. I have several 4x6 and 3x4 journaling cards - some are pintables that I have no idea of when I or where I got them.  The rubber pieces are from an old K and I Memories kit - Winter. I'm just trying to get them used up. Can you believe I found two sheets of Christmas and Winter word stickers. These are also old along with the Our Snowman rub on.  I know the inspiration kit has stamps and stencils in it so I am reserving the right to add in as needed.

Now you need to head on over to Julene to see her take on our kit - I think she went rogue this month so be sure to check her out.
