May 2022 Counterfeit Kit - Mini Kit and Project Reveal.

Today I'm up on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog with another Mini Kit and Project Reveal. Master Forger Kate chose a kit from ScrapbookDoodle called Sweet Life Featuring the Sweet life Bo Bunny Collection.

I pulled inspiration from the polka dot paper with the various colors then pulled a smaller flower pattern. I matched this up with the orange and green paper, all of which is from the Park Lane - Flower Garden Stack, Kraft cardstock and a few left-over embellishments from Pink Fresh Studio along with a few die cuts from scrap paper.

I cut the flower from the paper to start my embellishment cluster which is layered with the die cuts and Pink Fresh embellishments.

Here is my double page layout.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Mini Kit and Project Reveal

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Mini Kit and Project Reveal.  First off Lisa picked the Papers and Beyond "Follow Your Bliss" kit. Lisa says, " When I took a closer look at the Follow Your Bliss Kit, I knew it was the right one for us for this Easter month. A mix of funky Vicky Boutin and pretty Jen Hadfield, this American Crafts kit felt like a splash of spring with a lot of potential for gorgeous kits with possible forgeries sprinkled right in there!"

Here is their kit.

The Mini Kit is always a challenge for me, and this month proves no different. Do I make a few Travelers Journal pages, a set of the pocket pages, what about a few cards, tags and gift boxes?

I chose a Colorbok paper from the Paislee paper pad as it had most of the inspiration kit colors as my starting point. From them I added in dark olive gray green cardstock, yellow cardstock and a few paper scraps from my scrap pile.

For the embellishments I added in a pre- made butterfly from a Tim Holtz die, a few pre-made flowers, a couple of labels that were punch and one that was stamped and cut out, a few silk flowers a huge green chrysanthemum, flower and butterfly brads, and Basic Gray stickers (2009) and a pre - stamped and fuzzy cut medallion. I am also brining in my bird punch and circle punch.

I ended up making a regular 12x12 layout.

The medallion is cut apart along with the green chrysanthemum flower. I cut apart the sticker and used the larger one at the top of the photo and the smaller one at the bottom of the photo.

I inked the edges of the white and yellow cardstock along with the birds.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Mini Kit Reveal

Today is reveal day of putting a mini kit together and showing your project. This month we are using the August 2020 Flavors of the Month kit from The Scraproom

Here is just a reminder of what that kit looks like.

Our inspiration kit has four different parts to it and I am pulling inspiration from the stripe paper, the school theme and the Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape collections.

First up is my Stripe paper inspiration.
I have a few scraps from the Bo Bunny "Take a Hike" (2016) collections. I made a quick 12x12 page using these scraps.

I added some twine for the pictures and the trimmed the 3x3 bear journal card down s to fit on my layout. I added a sticker that say "fresh air" I have the cutest little photo's of my grandson that I'm going to add to this layout.

Secondly I have inspiration from the Echo Park School Rules Collection with some school paper, the embossing folder and a circle punch.

I included the Tim Holtz ruler embossing folder, white and red cardstock and a piece of  6x6 ruler paper.

I made two sets of bottle tags for a teacher friend. School is getting ready to start here in Minnesota, depending on what county you are in depends on the way you go back to school.

The last set of paper I pulled inspiration from the Simple Stores "Simple Vintage Great Escape" collection by pulling some scrap paper to represent the "Time for Adventure" paper.

I have a few scraps from from the Paper House "Into the Wild" (2016) paper pad. My DH needed a couple of guy cards so I made a couple of oversize cards for him.

I just added some cardstock and cut the images down to the oversize card front.

CKC March Mini Kit Reveal - Here's The Story

Today on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog is the Mini Kit reveal. I signed up for the Mini Kit this month to challenge myself to make a smaller kit and use it up right away.

Our inspirational kit this month is a kit Susan made "Little Bits of Happy"

I love the kit Susan put together. The oranges, yellows, greens and turquoise, stars and hearts, a little cloud, a few journaling cards, tags and of course the labels.

Here is my Mini Kit for March - Here's the Story.

Now I normally start with my 12x12 pages and then work on my youngest but this time I started with his. I have included in my kit papers from a 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" paper pad, a partial sheet of 12x12 paper for journaling, black washi tape, alphabet stickers, project life cards, die cuts a couple of doilies and sequins.

I usually make a much larger kit and document what ever photos I want through out the month.  This time I am documenting a trip DH and I took to Minot, North Dakota to spend a long weekend with my youngest. Since he moved there he comes home for Thanksgiving and we bring Christmas to him. So we get to see him twice a year. I do send lots of care packages to him through out the rest of the year. And yes I decorate the outside of the package and send to his office.

Pages 1 and 2 use 2 - 4x6, 2 - 4x3 and 2 - 2 x4 pockets.

I used a piece of acetate to place my title on along with a couple of different alphabet stickers.  I sprinkled around some of the enamel dots and added the punched hearts throughout the pictures.
I thought the die cut that says "Today Your Story Begins..." was perfect for this story. The problem is that you see white cardstock on the opposite side. To start I covered the backside with some gold colored cardstock.

Page 2:
I have lots of pictures of the Scandinavian Heritage Park we walked through. I finally added a doily to cover up the back of the die cut and a few embellishments. I was going to make a sequin pocket but liked this better.

I packed a few scrapbooking supplies and some crochet to do on the way. The guys had scheduled a golfing day and I was going to scrap.  When we got to Doug's he had his Ninja Turtles towels hanging in his bathroom. It so made me smile and I had to snap a picture.  The guys loved the Turtles when they first came out.

Page 3 and 4 I switched it up a bit with 4 - 4x4's and 2 - 4x3 pockets

I used a couple of the labels from my kit and the wood veneers, then remembered I had the enamel dots in the bright colors so added a few starts to my journaling.   I keep a little container with left overs from other projects and that is where I found the stamped saying "Love believes all thing, hopes all things, endures all things." along with the tag, punched flower, stamped feather and punched heart.

The last page had some more of the elements from the kit and a few more pictures from the Scandinavian Heritage Park. The bottom of the page is a picture of Izzy ready for nap as we head home. The journaling reads " Headed home and Izzy needs a nap. It's a lot of work visiting." I still have to finish my 12x12 pages and will link them up on the CKC blog.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and link up your projects here. You can also post at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Facebook Community or on Instagram.
