Everything for the cards was pulled out of my scrap pile.

I used the 2 1/2" circle punch and layered a second one behind my images.

OWH VCMP Challenge #7

Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is my card for Challenge #7, A Christmas card for a child and a Hero hosted by Scrapping with a Purpose.

For my card I'm using another sketch from Operation Write Home Sketch #102.  I'm using two different sizes of polka dot papers.  For the embossed strips I embossed the cardstock sized to fit my embossing folder then cut off the 1/4" strips.  I find it easier to emboss this way instead of trying to make the 1/4" strip straight in my embossing folder.  I used another Unity stamp and hand cut  around the outside of it.

Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is my card for Sketch #136 on the Operation Write Home Blog.

When I have a scraps of cardstock or pattern paper left over from a project I pull out my dies and do a little bit of cutting, inking, and assembling if need be.  The birdies on this card are from my jar of birdies from scraps. The colors of the birds are the colors in the background paper.  I embossed my pattern paper then layered the tan cardstock and the birds on top.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out.

For the inside I stamped the bird from the October kit in the corner and added a strip of background paper to the left hand side of the mat.

For the inside I stamped the running horse border twice across the bottom of the white mat and rounded the corners.

OWH VCMP Challenge #4

The Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is card for Challenge #4, Triple Time Stamping Technique Challenge hosted by Donna Inks.

I love the way her card turned out and even though I have that same stamp set I decided to use a different one for my card.

I stamped the ship in the middle of the smallest paper as I wanted that to be the focal point.  I then stamped the globe and journal a couple of times.  I then finished off with the compass and anchor in the top left corner.

I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with a circle punch and backed it the circle in the yellow carstock.

I'm using Sketch #2 from Operation Write Homes Sketch's to make this card. I started by inking my stamp with black in the snowman , bird and bird house then inking the snowflakes with blue ink.  I stamped my image on white cardstock and cleaned my stamp then traced around it. I matted my image onto brown cardstock and rounded the corners.  I used the Snowflake embossing folder on the blue and white polka dot paper and matted tan paper behind it.  I tied a ribbon around the top with a scrap.

For the inside I matted white cardstock onto the blue and white polka dot paper to bring the colors inside.  I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock and punched it out.

I'm using Sketch #1 from the Operation Write Home Sketchs to make this card. I first stamped my image onto what card stock then cleaned and dried my stamp.  I then lined my stamp up on my image and traced around it.  I used water color pencils to color in the stamped image and cut around my pencil lines.   I stamped my sentiment and made it into a banner.  Both the image and sentiment are inked with distress ink.
