World Card Making Day - Lots of Card

October 3rd is World Card Making Day. I needed to make a few blank card front for Dale for his co-workers. I'm still working on old paper pads I had purchased for him with the themes for his co-workers in mind. I had a few scraps from other projects that I'm using to make the card fronts. It's just the fronts and the inside is finished. As he needs a birthday or congratulation card, selects the card he wants to use,  I will stamp the sentiment to finish off the card.

I was able to make 16 cards from a small pile of scraps. Here's a closer look at the cards.

I kept the scrap pretty close to the size they were in. I just trimmed them down to fit the card fronts

There is a tent in the top right card - it's hard to see. I love how they off cut pieced turned out.

I also did a few of the small slim line cards. I'm not sure why they the instructions I found on the internet are for a small card.

I decided to make my own size to fit better into the envelope so they are a little larger.

Thanks for looking

Unity Challenge - Pennants and Banners

The Unity Challenge this month is Pennants and Banners.  I used the Martha Stewart All Occasions Cricut cartridge to cut out the banners.

The stamp is from the June 2011 Kit of the Month {all smiles}.  I used a Die to cut out the image after I stamped onto white cardstock.  I add a sheer ribbon and bow to the front of the card.  The banners are on pop up dots with the twine hot glued to the back of them.

After I had my card all put together I then stamped the image again on the white mat on the inside with out inking it again.  I wanted the image and I wanted to be able to write over it and see it.

Christmas Card Blog Hop Challenge Day 2 - Poinsetta Gift Card Holder

Welcome to Day 2 of the  Card A Day Blog hop. If you came from Christine Patton's awesome blog, Creative Genie-ous you are on the right path, (a complete list is posted at the end of this post if you get lost along the way.) Don't forget to participate in the card challenge for the weekend at the Card a Day Blog and a chance for some great prizes.

Today I'm sharing a gift card that I made with my Cricut and Design Studio. The card base is made with the George and the Basic Shapes cartridge along with the main layers.  You will need to decorate all four sides of this card.

After cutting my base I scored the card part at 4 1/4 and the flap at 5 1/2. I inked all the edges inside and out with Vintage Photo, since all four sides of this card will be decorated. I then wrapped my ribbon around the front and back of the gluing on the front and back of the card and leaving about 1/8" to 1/4" from the edges where I will tie the bow.  I then layered the cardstock and designer paper  pieces onto the front and back of the card.

The gift card slips into it own tag which hide under the flap of the card. The base of the tag is 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".  The gift card holder is cut at 3"x4" and has slots to hold the gift card in place.  I use a slot punch but you could cut the slots by hand or use photo corners to hold the gift card in place.
Now before you go if you leave me a comment AND are a follower of my blog you'll be entered into a drawing for some blog candy from me.  This is a separate prize from the Card A Day Blog prize.  Now onto Cindy Point at The Creative Pointe for her fabulous project.
