March Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop

Today is the day for the March Counterfeit Kit Blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Julene.  If you just arrived at my blog and want to start at the beginning click here to be taken to Counterfeit Kit Blog. For the full list of the Blog Hop participants please scroll to the bottom of this post.  For this hop we  have three challenges to choose from and they are:
1. Challenge #1 Water Color Challenge - Use a water color technique on your project.
2. Challenge #2 Let's get inspired by Jennifer! - Find something on Jennifer's Blog and create a project base on it.  Be sure to share the link with the original inspiration.
3.  Challenge #3 Background texture - Add texture to your background.

I have a layout for Challenge #1 and a layout for Challenge #3.  I just didn't have time to complete Challenge #2, but will be going back and doing that one later.  I have to warn you that this is a long post and remember that you can click on the photo to see it in more detail.

Challenge #1 - Water Color Challenge.  I don't have any water colors because I like to use Acrylic Paints.  So I'm improvising and using acrylic paint watered down to make my water color for my layout.

I mixed a little bit of the acrylic paint with some water, I wanted a pink that was about the color of the dark pink like the flower buds.

I used the same paint mixture and painted onto my stamp then created a banner.

I used three doilies and sandwiched them between the pink cardstock and a sheet of vellum.

Challenge #3 - Adding Texture to the background:
I started with the my second and last sheet of the DCWV Rock Star Stack and trimmed down the edges just a touch. then added a triangle piece of the pattern paper in the top right corner.

I pulled out some balsa wood triangles and a square and covered them with the same pattern paper.  I stamped the puppy pay onto the square.

I added a few more punched pieces and a few lables here and there.  I die cut some more of the Provo Craft - Slab III and added that to the right corner, then added a couple of photo corners.

A couple of the wood veneer hearts finish off the layout.

Jemma is the next person on the hop.

I am loving that watercolour LO.. great photos... and how clever you are to be able to use up the paper with such a large phoenix on! I would never have known what to do with it! Cute dog too.

Both lovely pages, I think the top ne is my favourite - love the watercolou effect and the idea of sandwiching the doilies with the vellum :o)

Your faux watercolor technique turned out beautiful - I hadn't thought of using a stamp! Loved the doilies behind vellum - must do this :~)
