September Inspiration Kit and Social Media Hop

It's a beautiful collection we can use for just about any type of scrapbooking. 

Now for my kit - CKC September 2025 - Life stories. I did not match the pattern papers to what the kit had. I pulled in papers based on the colors though out the kit. I made page kits and matched them up to the pictures I am going to scrap. 


I am also including quite a few scraps in my kit this month. Then I made a page kits with scraps on from left over collections. I included some foil and glitter. I picked three main colors - Green, orange red and pink. 





As for embellishments, since the kit had a ton of journaling cards, I am going to pull from my Stories of the Month by Ali Edwards. Included in the kits are 4x6 and 3x4 cards, stickers, chipboard, stamps, wood veneer shapes, vellum, and word stickers. It just depends on the year. I am using years 2021 to 2025. 

I have sheet of My Minds Eye punch out shapes, I pulled in my elephant stamp for some of Darcy's monthly layouts, and several border punches. I have several Unity Stamp KOTM that I have included as well. I will add alphabet stickers when I need them.

October Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop

Here is my October 2024 CKC - Fall Spender.

I have pulled a wide variety of papers for this month.

Main papers:

My papers are a shade or two lighter than the inspiration kit, I've even included some metallics, bronze/ copper, gold and silver. 

Scrap page kits 

I have a couple of bags of scraps that I have kept together from other projects that I can hopefully get used up. Included here are glitter paper, vellum and foil paper.

Papers pads: 



The Color Box paper pad (on the bottom) has just a few sheets left, I brought in the DCWV Vintage Memories to use as backgrounds and I would like to finish off the We R Memories 6x6 paper pad. There are a few word cut a parts still in the paper pad.

Card, tag and bag starters:

I have several card, tag and bag kits that I have not been using the past few months and the colors work wells with the month's inspiration kit. 

Embellishments:


I have a wide variety of embellishments this month. flowers, chipboard, wood veneer, tags, journal cards, buttons, and rubons. I have several flowers that have been stamped on paper and on vellum. and a tag that has been stamped.  Once again I have included a wide variety of stamps, punch's and dies. I even pulled out a couple of stencils so we will see how that goes.

July Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop

 Welcome to July's Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop. Ryan is the Master Forger in charge this month.  You should have arrived here from Brandi. As usual the full hop is listed below. Ryan has selected Moonlit Collection by Traci Reed. It has a Summer Nights vibe which should appeal to anyone who enjoys evening activities in their summertime. It is a pretty vestal kit. 






Our Guest Designer this month is Lacy Stockton.  She says, "Hi, I’m Lacy Stockton and I live in a boy’s world, married to my playful husband and we share three beautiful boys, plus my “Baby,” Zuko (our Boston Terrier) and only other female influence, a tabby cat named Paisley.  I began scrapbooking in 1998 when I purchased an idea magazine and scrap lifted every layout from the book, starting my passion for the creative, hands-on art of documenting life.  Currently, I am primarily a Creative Memories scrapper, as I love the coordinating collections, but have years’ worth of supplies that mostly remained stored until I was introduced to this group.  I am really enjoying reinventing a purpose in old supplies and combining it in ways I wouldn’t put together otherwise through the inspiration kits.  I love being involved in the challenges as I am a list maker/checker, and the challenges feel like assignments giving me criteria to complete.  I’ve only been involved for a few months and already have been excited to create layouts with old supplies that have happily found a home in a scrapbook.  I look forward to a well themed event to assure a more scrapbook content, and it’s very common for me to take a photo knowing something will match scrapbook paper I already own.  This is a photo from my “Clue” birthday party when I dressed as Mrs. White."

Here is my July CKC - These Moments.

I have a variety of papers. I tried to stay to the darker side, but I have added in a few lighter colors. 


I have a variety of photos to scrap this month, Derek with a sparkler, eating ice cream, at the fire pit, making hot dogs with dad, Darcy playing in the sunshine with Derek, and watching a parade are just a few of the layouts I plan on finishing this month.

As for my embellishments I have a wide variety, a couple of cut- a-parts, sticker sheet, I have one alphabet picked out, enamel dots and some chipboard. 


Various Flowers, DIY Enamel dots, ribbon, wood veneer words, cameras, buttons, labels, tabs, and paperclips.


More cut-a-parts, chipboard and chipboard frames, bare chipboard, tasses, tags, stamped images and some puffy stickers. 


I've added in my circle dies and punches, a couple of Cricut Cuts from various cartridges, Stamps, glitter and sequins.

    June Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop

    Our Guest Designer this month is Mel Walkden, and here is her introduction: "Hi my name is Mel Walkden. Have been married for 24 years this year and have 1 daughter. I have been Scrapbooking for about 29 years now. I dabble in card making. I love bright colours and trying out different techniques with Mixed Media. I'm a stay-at-home mum, so only 1 wage I don't get to buy too much product, and am a huge believer in use what you have and use those scraps up."

    Here is my Kit: CKC June 2024 - Bright and Bold

    I pulled my together a little differently this month. I love the colors in the kit and started by pulling in my distressed papers and hard to use papers, at least the ones I find hard to use,

    Group 1:


    Group 2:

    From there I divided them into page sets. Again, I'm scrapping most of the layouts 3 different times. I actually added in my photos to my page sets and have a couple of titles already made. 

    Page Set I:



    The car paper is from We R Memory Keepers - Travel Light (2011). The stickers and font is from the same paper pad. I included hearts and a Unity Stamp set for the Sandcastle, as Derek is playing in the sand. this will be a double page layout. 

    Page Set #2:

    This is from DCWV Animal Crackers (2008). It has glitter and embossing on the papers. I thought this would be great for a trip we took to the petting zoo. The stickers are from the same paper pad, I pulled in some die cut flowers for the second page of the layouts. 

    Page Set 3:


    Another set of papers from We R Memory Keepers - Travel Light (2011). The title is from the same set along with the little fonts. I added in some puffy hearts.

    Page set 4:


    This paper is Summer Garden 12x12 Die Cut sheets. I'm assuming it is around 2009 or 2009 from archivers. I added a doily sheet from Stampin' Up, Butterflies and hears that I die cut, a couple of vellum butterflies, arrows and a couple of flowers.

    Page set 5:

    I've had this green piece of Acetate in my stash forever. I have a scrap of green stripe and white cardstock for this layout. I love the look of acetate but find it hard to use. 

    Page Set 6:


    For this page set I have embossed and glitter pattern paper that is a little bit distressed. I pulled in a sheet of distressed red paper a die cut branch.

    May Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop


    Welcome to May Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop. Misty is the Master Forger in charge this month. She has selected Timeless from a company called DLS Design. This kit is offered by a kit company in the Netherlands. Since you are unlikely to have any of these items, you will really have to put those counterfeit skills to use this month!


    This image from the company's website is a bit hard to see. So she has taken screen shots of all the kit elements and compiled them into an overview.


    Misty chose this kit for that bold circle print which features red. She doesn't normally use red. However this bold color is well balanced with white, yellows, greens and pink. It all just called to her.

    Please welcome our guest designer for May. I'm so happy to introduce you to my friend Alison Day. Here is what Alison wanted to share about herself.

    "Hi I'm Alison and I've been playing with pretty paper since 2009. I've dabbled in crafts of every description all my life, but I discovered scrapbooking when my children were small, and I didn't look back. I trained as an Interior Designer and tend to use my knowledge of colour and design on my pages and in my cards instead of other people's houses. I'm a life-long student so learning from others inspires me and tends to lead to ideas. More ideas than I have time in the day to implement! 

    In 2021 I opened an Arts & Crafts store in my town of Ladner, BC. [Ladner Village Arts & Crafts]. It became my home away from home and being surrounded by not only racks and racks of pretty paper, but also fabric, yarn and painting supplies has had my brain buzzing ever since. It also allows me to give back in the form of teaching others what I've learned over the years. In the fall of 2022 I audited a beginner crochet class to be better educated as a yarn salesperson, and now I'm completely obsessed with all things yarn! Don't be surprised if my layouts are all about crochet projects now LOL.

    I am super grateful to my friend Misty for giving me the opportunity to share my passions with you and can't wait to see what you all do with this month's inspiration!"

    Now for my May Counterfeit Kit - CKC May 2024 - Waiting for Summer.

    Once again, I pulled my papers in Page Sets and then a few general papers.

    Page set 1:

    I pulled in black cardstock, some scraps - orange polka dot, orange on orange floral and a stripe. I have the photo ready trimmed to size and include white and orange acrylic paint.  


    Page set 2:

    I have Kraft cardstock for my background. Little Miss Darcy had her birthday which is what I'm planning on using the Pennant cut file for. I had a couple of spots where it didn't cut perfectly but by the time I back it I think it will work out just fine. I also have a rub on sheet and some border strips. I'm planning on using the strawberries since she had a Berry Birthday party!

    Page Set 3:


    For this one I pulled in the yellow cardstock for my background, two embossing folders - woodgrain and Flower Garden along with a scrap of pink for the Flower Garden embossing folder. I have a multicolored ribbon and a couple of silk flower embellishments.  


    Page set 4:


    I pulled out a house paper similar to the one in the inspiration kit, white cardstock and a teal pattern paper along with a yellow pattern paper.  I have a flower made out of netting, pompons, buttons and two acrylic words, two different teal/blue washi tape. I couldn't find my yellow washi tape.

    My Additional paper for May is:

    Coral Cardstock, pattern orange paper, offset multicolor circle, light blue, teal pattern, pink cardstock, teal pattern paper. 

    I pulled out a few stencils, and some frames.



    I pulled out a couple of Tim Holtz word stickers, various stickers and a 6x6 paper pad


    For the last of my embellishments I have brads, some trim - floss and embroidery thread, a heart template a couple of stamps, bling, stickles - it will be interesting to see if they still work, I will be pulling from my scraps as needed.
