iNSD Layout 3 - The Hard Part

 Today I am using Page Set #3 for my double page layout. My five items are embossing folder, brayer, stamps, wood veneer and flowers.

To meet the challenge of using 5 items I have added in to my page set twine, wood veneer, distress ink: bundled sage, peeled paint, tumbled glass and worn lipstick, stamps: Unity Stamps Kit of the Months -February 2021 {a beautiful mindset} the rain boots, January 2020 {you are enough-new beginnings} flower stamped in pink and February 2020 {timeless} blue stamped flower and leaves, Stories by the Month May 2020 - the hard part.

I started using the using the woodgrain embossing folder with a bunch of white scraps, then using the brayer to add the bundled sage ink.  The embossing looks like it is going across the page but in reality, it stops behind the photos.

On left side of the page I used a large wood veneer tag, stamped the boots and flowers then fussy cut and added a silk flower. "The hard part" is stamped, fussy cut and layered on the tag. 

For the right side I used a smaller wood veneer tag with the boots and stamped sentiment.

iNDS Layout 2 - Strawberry Birthday

 Layout 2 for iNDS at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge: my 5 items for this challenge are glitter (stickles), rub ons, stickers, cut file and sequins. 

I am starting with page set 2 plus the items for the challenge and a couple of scraps.

I started by backing the cut file with the paper in the kit and matting the photos with scraps. I added the strawberry rub on and sequins, then added the journaling spot with the girl rub on. for the glitter I used stickles. The sticker on the bottom of the page gets carried onto page 2.

The rub on flowers and another sticker border at the top to finish off the page.

iNSD Layout 1 - Happy memories

 Layout one for iNSD I picked washi, acrylic paint, ribbon, black cardstock base and pocket cards to include on my layout. I am using page kit #1.

I already had the photo the cardstock and paint in my CKC May 2024 - Waiting for Summer. I had no idea which of the 5 additional supplies I was going to add.

I used a baggie to apply the paint. While it was drying, I matted my photo and laid out the scraps. With two of the 5 items already decided I had to figure out the rest. The journal card is a the top - Happy Memories, and I will journal when I find the date of the pictures. I added two strips of washi next to the paper border on the side. I found a black and white flower to add to the white and orange flowers, I even used a bottle cap.

May Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop

Welcome to May Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop. Misty is the Master Forger in charge this month. She has selected Timeless from a company called DLS Design. This kit is offered by a kit company in the Netherlands. Since you are unlikely to have any of these items, you will really have to put those counterfeit skills to use this month!

This image from the company's website is a bit hard to see. So she has taken screen shots of all the kit elements and compiled them into an overview.

Misty chose this kit for that bold circle print which features red. She doesn't normally use red. However this bold color is well balanced with white, yellows, greens and pink. It all just called to her.

"Hi I'm Alison and I've been playing with pretty paper since 2009. I've dabbled in crafts of every description all my life, but I discovered scrapbooking when my children were small, and I didn't look back. I trained as an Interior Designer and tend to use my knowledge of colour and design on my pages and in my cards instead of other people's houses. I'm a life-long student so learning from others inspires me and tends to lead to ideas. More ideas than I have time in the day to implement! 

In 2021 I opened an Arts & Crafts store in my town of Ladner, BC. [Ladner Village Arts & Crafts]. It became my home away from home and being surrounded by not only racks and racks of pretty paper, but also fabric, yarn and painting supplies has had my brain buzzing ever since. It also allows me to give back in the form of teaching others what I've learned over the years. In the fall of 2022 I audited a beginner crochet class to be better educated as a yarn salesperson, and now I'm completely obsessed with all things yarn! Don't be surprised if my layouts are all about crochet projects now LOL.

Now for my May Counterfeit Kit - CKC May 2024 - Waiting for Summer.

Once again, I pulled my papers in Page Sets and then a few general papers.

Page set 1:

I pulled in black cardstock, some scraps - orange polka dot, orange on orange floral and a stripe. I have the photo ready trimmed to size and include white and orange acrylic paint.  

Page set 2:

I have Kraft cardstock for my background. Little Miss Darcy had her birthday which is what I'm planning on using the Pennant cut file for. I had a couple of spots where it didn't cut perfectly but by the time I back it I think it will work out just fine. I also have a rub on sheet and some border strips. I'm planning on using the strawberries since she had a Berry Birthday party!

Page Set 3:

For this one I pulled in the yellow cardstock for my background, two embossing folders - woodgrain and Flower Garden along with a scrap of pink for the Flower Garden embossing folder. I have a multicolored ribbon and a couple of silk flower embellishments.  

Page set 4:

I pulled out a house paper similar to the one in the inspiration kit, white cardstock and a teal pattern paper along with a yellow pattern paper.  I have a flower made out of netting, pompons, buttons and two acrylic words, two different teal/blue washi tape. I couldn't find my yellow washi tape.

My Additional paper for May is:

Coral Cardstock, pattern orange paper, offset multicolor circle, light blue, teal pattern, pink cardstock, teal pattern paper. 

I pulled out a few stencils, and some frames.

I pulled out a couple of Tim Holtz word stickers, various stickers and a 6x6 paper pad

For the last of my embellishments I have brads, some trim - floss and embroidery thread, a heart template a couple of stamps, bling, stickles - it will be interesting to see if they still work, I will be pulling from my scraps as needed.
