The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Challenge #1 - Use A Door On It.
I have two different kinds of layouts for this challenge. I include several "door" items in my kit as I knew this was the challenge I needed to do. If you follow my blog you know that I make scrapbook pages for myself as well as for my two sons. For this challenge I made two different types of layouts. One is making a door and the other is using door paper. The layout for myself is making a door and the guys' layouts using door paper.
Here is the layout for myself.
I had made a door for my December Daily album this year, loved the way it turned out and thought the door plates and knob would look good on the door but I needed to make it larger.
I printed out my photos (3"x3") of the chipmunk eating the crab apples on a cold November day. I trimmed them down leaving a small white border around them ( I printed them on 4x6 paper). The door plate and knob is 3" long and my door is 7" x 4"
I made a tag for my journaling to slide behind the door and put the title of " Out the Front Door" on the tab. The tag is cut length wise instead of width wise (like a normal tag). My journaling reads - "It wasn't until the last couple of years we saw squirrels in the yard. this little guy is getting a few crab apples before the storm gets here. 11-25-2015"
I cut the Bo Bunny - The Avenues "Doors" paper into individual doors and picked two door to use. I tried to used some gesso and acrylic paint with a stencil on the Colorbok - French Prep paper and did not like the way it turned out so I cut out the flourish on the paper and used it instead to mat my photos on the remaining paper.
I used some of the scrap pieces of the Crate Paper 6x6 - Portrait Collection at the bottom of the layout. The December journaling spot is from the 6x6 pad I had two full sheets in the pad and just cut out the December part. I used a few foam dots behind the flourish to give it some dimension.
Even though I have several sheets of the Bo Bunny - The Avenues "Doors" paper included in my kit (4 total) I used a different door on my youngest layouts. The flourish was two large to fit on the page so I cut the left side off and layered it on top of the right side. Their journaling reads " December - You were set to move in, but the current renter's moved the date to February 2017"

Wonderful layouts and a cool take on the challenge :) Would hav3e not thought to do this for a challenge
Clever to use the door as a pocket for your journaling! I also like how you salvaged the scrolls from your "happy accident" with your mixed media supplies - been there/done that :)
That cardstock door is absolutely fabulous! I love the detailing!
Oh I like these a lot. Fab take on the challenge.
