Layout using Forgery on the Fourth

From my June Counterfeit Kit - CKC June 2024 - Bright and Bold, I am using my Ray of Sunshine Forgery paper, post is here

My paper is 8 1/2 x 11, the photo I am scrapping goes into my youngest album and this the size he chose.

The is part of a two-page layout. The Minnesota Vikings had a fundraiser at the Vikings new training center a couple of years ago. When you signed up you scaled a walled of the training center and got you picture taken with him.

I pulled in a scrap of red to mat the photo and trimmed down the white cardstock to mat on black cardstock.

Distress ink: mustard seed and fossilized amber

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Forgeries on the Fourth

Ourt inspiration kit this month is 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Sunburst collection. Here is a preview of the Kit:

I really like the yellow "Ray of Sunshine" paper, but I do not have this paper.(Vintage Artistry Sunburst - Ray of Sunshine - 49 and Market).

I find the distress paper hard to use, but this one was calling my name. I pulled out my Cricut cartridge Artbooking and played around with the cut on page 15.

The set is cut at 3 1/2" - top right, 7 inches middle, and the left side is at 11".

The left is cut at right side is cut at 8" and the left is at 11". I am cutting them out of white cardstock to use as a template.

After cutting and removing the rays from the first set I thought I should keep the cut-out parts to use for scrap paper. (I did not go back and do this any of the other but the 11" on the left side.

For my forged paper I used Distress ink in fossilized amber and mustard seed. This paper is for an * 1/2 x 11 layout. I outside the top, so I just extended the ink beyond the border. No can really tell until you lay the stencil on the top.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Today is Forgeries on the Fourth. I have a quick forgery for you that you can customize for any page.

A revies of our inspiration kit this month:

Pink and Paper Subscription Club - June kit

Scalloped Pattern Paper - Now you don't need to do the whole sheet of different scallops. I choose to make mine one color and I also made different sized based on my punches my punches.

I punched the circles from scrap paper, glued them to another strip of paper. The white medium white banners are from a scalloped circle punch. the yellow is a 2" circle and then I found a Stampin' Up scallop border punch.

I plan on coloring the white ones when I add to my layout.

My last set of scallops are using the Stampin' Up Curly Label punch and a couple of more scraps of paper.

I punched out the red stripe paper - 4 of the labels. Using a piece of white paper (another scrap) I lined up the edges and overlapped the sided.

I am using this on a card. I cut my white paper the length that I wanted based on my card.

I stamped an image from Unity Stamp Company KOTM -May 2023 {bloom in color} to finish off my card. This can easily be done on a layout or under a photo mat. I could even add an additional row of black ones behind the red or have less of the red showing.

Forgeries on the Fourth

This month Leslie is dipping into a different type of kit. the August Cherry Box from a Cherry on Top!  Here is a reminder of what the kit looks like.

Loved the 12x12 laser cut paper and I knew I could use a couple my punches and dies to make some of the embellishments.

The punches I used are: Martha Stewart: Scallop 3 dot, Loops, and Swirling Lace. I pulled out some scrap paper and punched then white and kraft cardstock. The die set I included this month is Torn edges which I thought would be a great photo mat or layering piece and the Spellbinders Contemporary Hearts Border and the Lattice border. These are two sets I have  not used in years and I need to decide if I am keeping or getting rid of.

Then I decided to look at a my Cricut Cartridges and pulled a few off of the Paper Lace Cartridge.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Forgeries on the Fourth

For September we are using Traci Reed's Digital Wildflower kit for our inspiration.  I am forging from the sticker sheet.

I included in my kit some dies and stamps that I am using for my forgeries.

First up is I am using the Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals dies.  I cut them all out of white cardstock several times. When I am die cutting I like to have several pieces for future use. I have only colored a few as I will color them when I am making my layouts.

I used Distress Inks in the following colors: antique linen, tumbled glass, gathered twigs, scattered straw, and  bundled sage. Nest is the Gink K. Designs Stamp and Die set A Year of Flowers 2.

Here is where I copies the tag similar to our inspiration - I found my tags I had cut out for my kit. The tad is made the with the the solid stamps.  I stamped the full daisy onto white cardstock and vellum using the outline stamps. The vellum is heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  My last forgery is using the Unity Stamps I included in my kit.

These are stamped and fussy cut out, ready for me to add to my layouts.  I did stamp two with enough room to make a couple of cards.

The pattern paper if from a Jen Hadfield  - Simple Life. I have a few more scraps to use up from this paper pad.  I added a little bit of twine to the stem of the flowers. Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the rest of forgeries. The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is here

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Forgeries on the Fourth

Our March Counterfeit kit is a Citrus Twist Kit from March 2020 - Life Crafted.

Here's a look at the embellishments that were included in the kit.

In my CKC - March 2022 - My Happy Kit the papers I chose were ones that did not have embellishments to go with them.   So, I pulled out my tools to make a few embellishments to go with them.

I have a free pintable from Traci Reed Designs - Here Comes the Sun, and a printable from NicoleJones911. I still have the stitched hearts and circle dies from last month but am adding in an Art C stamp and die set, Sizzlits 3 label die - medium, and Tim Holtz - Garden Greens set.

Thanks for stopping by.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Welcome to the January Counterfeit Kit Forgeries on the Fourth. We have a Digital Kit from Traci Reed Designs called On the Go and Going Slow for our January inspiration kit which can be found here: Introducing the On The Go & Going Slow Digital and Printable Scrapbook Collection by Traci Reed — Traci Reed Designs

and a look at the papers

I really liked the heart paper in our inspiration kit and decided to recreate it. I pulled out a heart stamp and a bunch of Tim Holtz's distress ink. I attempted to stamp randomly all over a piece of white cardstock then using a black pen made stitching lines all around the hearts.

You know that we always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkit challenge and #ckcjanuary2022).

So many reasons to smile - layout

My first layout using my October Counterfeit Kit with a couple of forgeries.

I included a bunch of pre punched and die cut circles in my CKC October 2021 - Fun Stuff kit. I also cut a bunch of butterflies from the Recollections Butterfly Collage paper to use on my layout.

I used the circles to make my Forgery Paper inspired from the Pinkfresh Studio - Keeping it Real "A little Chaos Paper"

Here is my paper:

I know my paper does not resemble to original except for the circles and that is what I was going for. I knew I would not use a paper that had so many circles on the background like the inspiration paper except to cut them out or use the paper as a photo mat, so I made it into something I would use.

Then I added the fussy cut butterflies. The title is in a way another forgery from the Paige Evans Wonders - Phrase Thickers. I just used a bunch of alphabet stickers for mine, which is a happy accident.

I just love the way this turned out. I was able to make this more of guy page from the really girly looking embellishments in my kit and pull the colors in from Mr. D's photo.

Thanks for stopping by.

Forgeries on the Fourth

I'm running behind on my Forgeries on the Fourth for October.

I included in my Counterfeit Kit for October the stitched heart dies, heart punches, heart stamps and some pre punched or die cut circles and hearts from scraps of paper.

I liked the Pinkfresh Studio - Keeping it Real "A little Chaos Paper" but knew I would not use it as is as a background paper. I would either cut it up for matting or punch the shapes out.

My version uses some of the pre punched circle shapes. I used white cardstock for my background and glued my circles where I thought I would like them position for my pictures.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Fall Colors Challenge

Welcome to Challenge #2 at the Counterfeit Kit Club. Tina has tasked us with a challenge of Fall Colors. Here is what she has to say, "Over here in the states Fall seems to be a huge thing! Especially with decor. So, with that in mind use the colors of Fall in your Area of the world to help you with your Creation."

I have a few pictures of the maple tree that is in our neighbors yard. In 2019 it was all one color - orange.

I did not touch up my photos, nor use any type of filter.

I printed out my photos at 3x5 and matted onto white cardstock, the vertical photos are matted separately, but the one on the right side I matted as one large piece. I trimmed down the Auburn Lane black and white floral paper to 11x 11 and the one inch pieces I cut of on the left side of the page. One of them is cut in half and tucked behind the photo so make it seem like a full strip.

I used a couple of the cut a parts on the page brown wood grain) and tucked them above my photos on the left and above and below the journaling on the right.

I added in a couple of the Silhouette cut leaves in orange and green and a stamped and fussy cut leaves . I also fussy cut one of the houses from the Pink Paislee Auburn Lane for the left side. I finished it all off with a few of the Bo Bunny Jewels.

I was not originally going to use this paper for these photos but the were in a competition with the oranges in my kit, and the wood grain paper I included was just to dark.
