Back Yard

I'm sharing another layout using my hexagon dies from my CKC January 2022 - The Journey kit. I pulled two of the papers from the Park Lane "Happy Garden!" papers (2019/2018) and a white piece of card stock for my base. I inked my edges with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

I also used a bunch of scraps of white for the largest hexagon dies - I cut two, cut them in half, and inked the edges with Distress Ink - peeled paint. I used one of flower dies and die cut 4 of the smaller flowers then inked with Dried marigold and Ripe Persimmon then added a yellow sequin in the middle of each of the flowers. I also pulled out Fleur De Lis die and used the second smallest one cut out of a red scrap of paper.

I started with half the hexagon, then with the rectangle die then started layering the flowers, the leaves and finally the tile words for each of the clusters.

Close up of top left - I was even able to get a couple of ants in each of the clusters.

I only put one word tile in the bottom clusters as they are so close together, I want then to seem like one big cluster. This is the last of the large green flower along with the flowers on the top stash, I no longer have any idea when I got them, I'm guessing at least from (2008 or 2009). I am happy to get them used up.

Close up of the right side: I made sure to include a die cut bird on each of the clusters along with the tan chip board flowers and butterfly. I have no journaling as the journaling is on another.

Surprise Challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog

I have a surprise challenge on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog today. Since it is my birth month I'm throwing out a challenge to make a card and tag, for any occasion. I don't know about you, but I never have enough ready ahead of time. I am always making them when I need them.

In my CKC January 20222 - The Journey kit I added in a couple of 6x6 paper pads.  I found a 6x6 One Sheet Wonder from  Patricia Dominicci at Jumping into Stamping.com (tutorial here https://jumpingintostamping.com/2021/02/11/6-x-6-one-sheet-wonder-with-berry-blessings/amp/). It used a combination of paper and stamping, the stamping can easily be replaced with die cuts which is what I did along with the fussy cut butterflies.

As I went down the rabbit hole of 6x6 paper pads I found a tutorial for a mini bag from Chic N Scratch that used a 6x6 piece of paper (her blog post is here: Tag Topper Treat Box - Chic n Scratch). I found a similar paper in one of the 6x6 paper pad and made this cut little bag. It's big enough to hold nail polish and lip balm along with a couple of mini-Reese's

Here is three more of the cards I made. I will be making little tags and bags to go along with them, that way I will be ready.

Thank you for stopping by.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Use a Sketch from my January 2022 Pinterest Board.

Welcome back for Challenge #2 on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. Our challenge is to use a sketch I created from my January CKC 2022 Pinterest Board located here. I love using sketches as a starting point, especially when I need a little bit of inspiration.

For my layout I picked this sketch:

and here is my layout based on the sketch which I rotated to the left.

I am using the scraps from the DCWV Far East Collection (2013) for my papers. I started with the bird paper and cut it so that it would show on the left side with the scrap pieces tucked behind the photo and layering pieces.

I cut the chicken wire out of white cardstock and used the largest of the Fleur de Lis die for my photo. I have a lot of die cuts on this page for my embellishments. The tan and dark brown flowers are from a Cricut project I did a long time ago (I'm not sure which cartridge it came from, and the dark brown was already painted brown). The rest of the leaves are from various dies that I included in my kit this month, along with the birds.

I have several punched pieces for the red accents and a die cut hexagon on the side. The flowers are a combination of Prima flowers and silk flowers from other projects. A little bit of ribbon in the tan and red and a few buttons finish off my layout.

My journaling is on the back as I didn't like any placement on the front. I tried a journaling block/spot and then I tried the journaling lines. "It was a cold day outside with blowing wind. Grandpa carried down the birdseed for Derek and me to fill up the bird feeders"

Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the Counterfeit Kit Club to see what the rest of the design team created.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1 - Use Your Tools

Welcome to Challenge #1 from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. You may have received a tool or two for Christmas. Well, let's put it use and let no dust collect on it. So, pull your punches, or dies, that stamp set, your embossing folder, or that new cut file and make a project with it. The challenge this month is to use your tools.

In my CKC January 2022 - The Journey I include quite a few dies, punches, stamps and even a cut file.  Today I'm sharing a double page layout using the hexagon dies and a few of flower and leaf dies I had in my kit. I even used my silhouette to cut the title of layout.

This past summer I have been following Scrapbooking Quebec's You Tube channel and loved the layout she did in March of 2021, Scrapbook Layout #159.

I pull
ed three of the Park Lane "Happy Garden" papers from kit and cut the Hexagons out. I use sever of the flower and leaf dies to cut out of scrap cardstock and pattern paper for my embellishments. The large leaf/branch shape is a die cut that been floating around my stash for a while.

I made sure to outline around all of the hexagons with a grey sharpie.

I know I need to add my journaling, but I am having printer issues and will add it later when I get it figured out. OH, technology, sometimes I wonder if it's worth it.  The font I use for the title is Story Element Regular and if a free font from Font Space here.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Don't forget to check out what the rest of Master Forger's created.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Welcome to the January Counterfeit Kit Forgeries on the Fourth. We have a Digital Kit from Traci Reed Designs called On the Go and Going Slow for our January inspiration kit which can be found here: Introducing the On The Go & Going Slow Digital and Printable Scrapbook Collection by Traci Reed — Traci Reed Designs

and a look at the papers

I really liked the heart paper in our inspiration kit and decided to recreate it. I pulled out a heart stamp and a bunch of Tim Holtz's distress ink. I attempted to stamp randomly all over a piece of white cardstock then using a black pen made stitching lines all around the hearts.

You know that we always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkit challenge and #ckcjanuary2022).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can’t wait to see your kits and projects this month.

January 2022 - Counterfeit Kit Reveal and Blog Hop

Happy New Year! Welcome to the January 2022 Counterfeit Kit Reveal and Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. (I have the full hop listed below ) I am starting off the year by selecting a digital kit from Tracy Reed Designs call On The Go and Going Slow. I love the colors, the large variety of elements, the three sets of alphabets, and of course there is the "busy as a bee" side and a "snail, snug life" side. I still have plenty of pictures to scrap of 2021 that are not all about Christmas and this will be perfect for both Christmas, travel, birthdays or celebrations - just all-around scrapbooking.

Here is what the kit loos like and it can be found here: On The Go and Going Slow Digital Kit — Traci Reed Designs

Full Kit:

The Papers:
The Stickers:
Journal Cards set #1:
Journal Cards set #2:

and the Travlers Notebook:

Now for my January 2022 kit - The Journey

First up is the paper.

DCWV - Textures and Finishes paper pad (2010), Park Lane "Happy Garden!" paper pad (2019/2018), First Edition - Gardenia paper pad (2019), orange tissue paper from a gift, DCWV - Vintage Memories Paper pad (2017), DCWV Far East - paper scraps (2013), DIY paper and my bag of paper scraps for the two cut files.

The Park Lane "Happy Garden!" paper pad (2019/2018) and First Edition - Gardenia paper pad (2019), do not have embellishments with them so I will be adding in various dies cuts, Enamel Dots, rhinestones and punched shapes.

I have a couple of neglected punches and I will be pulling out for the month and a couple of dies that I have not gotten around to using. I also added in the Recollections metal charms and a Fancy Pants Rub-On It's Your Day (2010) for a birthday layout. I also have a couple of left-over die cuts, ant stickers and a little box of miscellaneous bits and bobs that didn't make it onto another layout.

Lastly, I have some already stamped tags, naked tags, mini alphabets, printable from NicoleJones911.com, alphabet stamps and a couple of Unity Stamp sets, die cuts from the Cricut, Washi tape and three partially used 6x6x paper pads. That my kit for January 2022. I will be adding more cardstock as I create and ink pads.
