August Counterfeit Kit and Social Medial Hop

Welcome to August's Counterfeit Kit and Social Media Hop. Tara is our Master Forger in charge this month.  As usual the full blog hop is listed below. Tara has selected a Sweet Shoppe Design collection for our inspiration kit this month, can be found here: Sweet Shoppe Designs - Making Your Memories Sweeter. Here are the papers and the embellishments:

Our Guest Designer this month is Sarah Rouault, Here is a little bit about Sarah:

"I live in Newbury, Berkshire UK. I’m a PA to the Directors at a Building Society. I have
two grown up children and one granddaughter Daisy who is 6. I’m a widow of 19 years
so I know to make the most of every day - we’re only here for a visit.
As a child I kept Newspaper cuttings of the Royal Family in a scrapbook and I started
to scrapbook my photos about 11 years ago but stopped due to life events, however I
really got back into it during 2020 - COVID and lockdown! I have followed Counterfeit
Kit Challenge on the blog for years but only a few months ago joined the Facebook
group and got stuck into creating kits from the inspiration each month. I have hundreds
of photos still to scrap from many many years of snapping away and I like to use a
defined kit for each event, occasion or holiday so CKC is great to help me focus on
pulling different collections from my stash together to use this way for each project. I
love all the ideas each month and the support and comments posted in the group is so
encouraging - everyone is so lovely."

Please give her a warm welcome.

Here is my August CKC - Bee Happy.
First off, I pulled mainly yellow, kraft, black papers for my kit.

I also have a 6x8 paper pad and embellishments. I added in the 12x12 chipboard frame I would like to use up I will be adding in 12x12 and 11 1/2 x8 cardstock and pattern paper for the backgrounds.

I also pulled in a few pieces of scrap paper, and a partially used 6x6 paper pad that I would like to finish off.

Here are a few of the specific embellishments I will be using. I pulled these for my page kits that. As for the rest I will be using some stamps, tiny word stickers and of course I can add from my stash. I also have a white alphabet set that I will need to make a few letters for my title.

I have several stamps that I want to use both on my layouts and for cards. I have also pulled in some Hexagon and circle dies. I am substituting butterflies and birds for the bees in my kit.

thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to the October Counterfeit Kit Challenge and Blog Hop. This month Leslie is the Master Forger in charge.  Our Guest Designer - a familiar face in our community!

Hello, I’m Laurie and I’ve been scrapbooking and enjoying this hobby for 30 plus years. My favorite stories to scrapbook are about our grandchildren and our travels. I live in Central NY with my husband, Henry, of 49 years, our cat, Harley and our Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix, Zoey. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren ranging in ages 7-21. I joined the Counterfeit Kit Facebook group this past summer and am so glad I did. Everyone is so kind. I truly am excited to have been chosen as the Guest Designer for October and cannot wait to see what everyone else will be creating with their kits.

Leslie has this to say about the October inspiration kit: "I normally prefer not to chose an older kit, but I wanted to use another kit site than the usual plus a color scheme that will work for both ends of the globe in October. Spring might take you lighter & brighter and Fall might shade the peachy/orange to a slightly deeper red on some of your selections. You can trade the flowers for leaves or butterflies for mushrooms!

I pulled out a couple of kits that I had used just a few pieces of before. They have just been getting shuffled from the top to bottom of the pile and back again. Except for the monthly shuffle they have seen no action from the initial first few pages.  My goal this month is to finish them up this month.

Up first are two collection packs from Basic Grey - Olivia and Oliver. They both have a bit of grunge. d Oliver has way darker colors where Olivia has a lot of pinks.   They are from 2010 and its definitely time to get them used up.

I have no embellishments for them - I don't even know if they made embellishments to go with them. I will be pulling in a lot of card stock for both sets and using dies and punches along with some stamping. I would like to do some double page layouts of Derek and Darcy and thought these would be perfect for them.

The next set of papers are from Bo Bunny - Bella Rosa (2016). It is not as old as the first two, but again it has not seen any love in a long time.

Besides the 12x12 papers I have the die cuts which are large, some off cuts, a few buttons, flowers (not sure if they are from my stash or came with the kit), smaller tags and black and white arrows. Again, I will be pulling in cardstock for the layouts.

I do have a few tools I pulled out to go along with these three paper kits.
I'm pulling in a few of the embossing folders that have a frame on them. I have not used them for a very long time and decided I need to do something with them. I love the frames in the inspiration kit, so we will see that I can up with the embossing folders!

I also have a couple of stamp sets and a old alpha that I thought would work.

I know I will be pulling more as I start to Scrap. I am " Title Challenged" on my layouts, I do have alpha stickers but I tend not to use them so I will be pulling as I need the. I guess that is challenge number two for me - "Titles".

Thanks for stopping by. Your next stop on hop is Julene -  http://julenebydesign.blogspot.com/ and the who hop is listed below.

Welcome to another month of Counterfeit Kit Challenge reveal and blog hop. Master Forger Lisa is our host this month and our Guest Designer is Clair Rigby. She is a dear friend of CKC and former Master Forger, She can be found here - Clair Rigby! Here's a little bit about Clair.

"Hello! Hello! I'm Clair, I live in the NW of the UK with my lovely fella and two, lovely, little black cats. I am blessed to have a little craft room in the attic, where I can retreat whenever I need a little bit of me time.

I created my first Counterfeit Kit in 2011, which means that the ladies on the DT have been in my life for almost a third of it! I was lucky to be offered a spot on the DT in October 2015 and, with a few 'life breaks' here and there, remained on the team until 2021. I used up a lot of my stash :)

I've loved to see an influx of new followers over in the Counterfeit Kit Community Facebook Group and, even if I can't be there as often as I'd like to be, it's such a source of inspiration for my own crafting. I'm really looking forward to my month as a GD and can't wait to see everyone's kits and makes!

Clair xx"

This is what Lisa has to say about the kit. "I've chosen another new kit club for August - this time from the European online shop Pink and Paper. It's run by Flóra who has designed and worked with some of the big names including designing the latest Pinkfresh Studio collection, Lovely Blooms. Her kit club is a little different - it's a private membership which includes two online live workshops to create pages together using the kit elements - and of course I had to give a go! I love it when something is coming out of my corner of the world!

Apart from the fact that I think new kit clubs should be applauded in general, I think this is an interesting mix of colours and motifs as well as being a kit that can be stretched as you need it - stronger colours can be picked out for colder seasons, lots of florals and summer colours for us in the middle of summer. "

Pink and Paper Subscription Club - June kit

Now for my August CKC - Heat Wave.  This month I'm starting again with a Pinkfresh kit I bought and never finished - "Good Times". I have a lot of the embellishments left, two  full sheets of my not favorite paper and a bunch of scraps.

Next is a set of random papers I again want to get used up. I had to include the gingham paper in similar colors and the rest is more of a teal and turquoise colors.

I will be bringing in a lot of cardstock - both white and colors and using my scrap pile. My scrap pile is out of control at the moments.

As for embellishments - I have brought in my circle punches and dies. I'm keeping out the dies and stamps from last month. This month I will be adding in some new to me stamps I received from my sister. She was gifted a box of stamps, a few with dies, a couple of embossing folders and other craft supplies. She is not a paper crafter. We are video calling and she hold up and item, asks what it is and what is it used for, would I use it.

I am now digging through a box of surprise supplies like a kid at Christmas. Here is just a few of the supplies I will be using this month.

Thanks for stopping by.
