Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Fall Colors Challenge

Welcome to Challenge #2 at the Counterfeit Kit Club. Tina has tasked us with a challenge of Fall Colors. Here is what she has to say, "Over here in the states Fall seems to be a huge thing! Especially with decor. So, with that in mind use the colors of Fall in your Area of the world to help you with your Creation."

I have a few pictures of the maple tree that is in our neighbors yard. In 2019 it was all one color - orange.

I did not touch up my photos, nor use any type of filter.

I printed out my photos at 3x5 and matted onto white cardstock, the vertical photos are matted separately, but the one on the right side I matted as one large piece. I trimmed down the Auburn Lane black and white floral paper to 11x 11 and the one inch pieces I cut of on the left side of the page. One of them is cut in half and tucked behind the photo so make it seem like a full strip.

I used a couple of the cut a parts on the page brown wood grain) and tucked them above my photos on the left and above and below the journaling on the right.

I added in a couple of the Silhouette cut leaves in orange and green and a stamped and fussy cut leaves . I also fussy cut one of the houses from the Pink Paislee Auburn Lane for the left side. I finished it all off with a few of the Bo Bunny Jewels.

I was not originally going to use this paper for these photos but the were in a competition with the oranges in my kit, and the wood grain paper I included was just to dark.

Adventure

I am suing the wood grain paper from the Bo Bunny - Bella Rosa Collection for my background paper. One of the 6x8 papers had the industrial looking bridge and cogs on it that I am using for the background mat of the photos. I added in the dark red paper for the banner just cut in half with the hidden seams behind the photos.

I moved my journaling to be underneath the photos and on the banner. I fussy cut the house from the Pink Paislee Auburn Lane paper pad.

Cookie Break

In my Counterfeit Kit - CKC September 2021 - Undecided I the DCWV paper from the Tajamahal paper pad that I put in just for the orange color. I had not idea of how I was going to use it or what photos.

I had received a batch of photos and had these two of the guys taking a cookie break amongst the bricks.

So I pulled out my xacto knife and did a little bit of fussy cutting to get the photos nestled in the flowers.

Begin and Today Layouts

I'm using some scraps from my CKC September 2021 - Undecided Kit for my layouts today. First up is a 8 1/2x11 layout for my youngest son. We took the bullet bricks from our back yard and are moving them to his yard. He can use them to finish off the side of the fence.

I scattered around the die cut foliage and added a leaf paper clip to the  top of the layout.

The second is a 12x12 layout of our front circle. We moved the the larger bricks from the terraced beds and side beds to re do this bed. Most of the extra bricks are headed to my youngest son's for him to reuse. They cleaned up really nice after a good power washing.

I matted the white cardstock twice then used the black and white Tinkering Inc paper.  I will be journaling on this layout but I need to check and make sure I get the journaling correct.

Thanks for stopping by.

Embellishments: Unknown Tags and Labels, Forgeries on the Fourth - die cut leaves, Leaf and # paperclips
Misc.: Doodle Bug Teensy type alphabet stickers, twine, adhesive and zots

Refresh layout

I pulled the Tree Rings from my Forgeries on the Fourth that I  included in my Counterfeit Kit - CJC September 2021 - Undecided.

I was planning on cutting a part the design and use part on my layout and the other part on my son's layout. I always keep the inside pieces until I'm done with the design and decided to use the inside pieces on the layouts. As I was planning my pages I realized that most of the tree ring would be coverd, so I used the inside pieces.

I added in a couple of labels at the to of the photo and a label at the bottom with the date.

The die cuts are really large in this collections and i have a hard time using them. I just used one of the lanterns at the bottom of the page, at least it's one down.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Forgeries on the Fourth. This is a long post. I included theses paper in my kit

to make a paper forgery of the Heidi Swapp - Old School "Summerland" paper, I know the colors do not match what is in the inspiration paper, but is is for inspiration and will work better for my photos.

I started by cutting the papers at 1 inch then gluing it to my cardstock.

 Then I tried at 1/2"

I have enough of the paper left I can do more pages if I want to use this on a two page layout.  I used the pieces from the edges I cut and made a few banners for layering.

Since I said I didn'[t have the right colors of orange or yellow in my pattern papers I pulled two of them from K and Company Carks Color Basics Paper pad (2015) to cut some leaves.

The leaves in the goldenrod color are from Caluya Design and are the Free Botanical Leaves. The orange ones are from Paper Issues. The file is called Leaves are Falling and they are a background file that I hand the leaves apart.

Master Forger Tara  found some wood slice cut files from Silhouette Design Store. They cut beautifully.
First up is Design 315536 Tree Rings

Design 324878 Sunflower Wood slice

Design 32351 flower wood slice.

I cut mine in white cardstock but you can use a pattern paper. I always keep the inside pieces until I'm done with the cut file. I might have to do some watercolors on the two flower frames.

The last thing I did is I used the scraps from my forged paper and made these banners

then made this quick start to this layout.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check out the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to see what inspired the Design Team this month.

Here is My September 2021 CKC- Undecided

I had a hard time choosing the papers this month. I either had to much of a sunny yellow or bright orange and to much pink and I could not find any deep red paper. I have two sets of papers to use this  month because of my indecision. Up first are the papers I started with.

First are two greens from the DCWV - Heirloom Stack (2011), Recollections Give Thanks paper pad - Plaid paper (unknown date),DCWV Tajamahal Stack (2009), Jen Hadfield - Chasing Adventures paper pad (2018), Pink Paislee Auburn Lane paper pad (2019), Carta Bella - The Great Outdoors "Wildflowers (2016). DCWV Far East paper pad (2013), DCWV Heirloom Stack (2011), DCWV Tajamahal Stack (2009),  next three are from, DCWV Lemon Stack (2011). last three papers are from Pink Paislee Auburn Lane paper pad (2019).

For my embellishments I pulled out some die cuts from Pink Paislee, and a bunch of leaves and arrows from my previous kits that were not used. I try to keep them by colors and I pulled out tan, brown, green and black. I do not have any yellow, orange or blue die cut out. I have 8 brads left from Basic Grey - I'm guessing and then some jewels from Bo Bunny.

I had forgotten to include the grid paper (unknown)  and a few sheets from DCWV - Old World Stack (Unknown).

As I was picking up my papers and getting them ready for the month. I came across this Bo Bunny Collection - Bella Rosa (2016), which had the deep reds and darker oranges. I have theses papers, die cuts, ephemera, chipboard arrows, and a sticker sheet left along with a few of the 6x8 pieces. I know the die cuts here are huge but I would like to get them used.

I know there was a stamp set, chipboard frames and ribbon, I will be adding theses in as I go along with cardstock.
