June Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to June Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.  You should have arrived from Susan's blog Little Things, Big Days. If not just scroll on down to the bottom of this post to get to the beginning of the hop.

The 3 challenges this month are: Challenge 1: Patterned Die Cut: Use only Patterned Paper to create a layered die for your project. Challenge 2: Transportation Challenge: Have something transportation related on your project. Challenge 3:  One side or the other: Focus on only one side of your project (either one...no preference) and keep the rest of white space. I have a layout for all three challenges (click on the photo to enlarge them).

Challenge 1:Patterned Die Cut: Use only Patterned Paper to create a layered die for your project. As part of my Counterfeit Kit I added the Old West Cricut Cartridge. Boy did I ever put Design Studio to use.  Instead of using a die I have the cactus, saddle, band on the hat and frame cut out of pattern paper. I inked then and used a white gel pen. I was going to use the wood grain embossing folder on the fence but it just tore it up so I used the white gel pen instead.

One of the things we did at the Bar 10 was horse back riding.  After we got back from our ride we had them snap a picture of all of us.

Challenge 2: Transportation Challenge: Have something transportation related on your project:
I again used Design Studio but this time I used the George and Basic Shapes for my layout.  I cut out three window shapes out of a 12x12 piece of pattern paper, then trimmed the paper down 1/4". My pictures 5x7 big and behind the window shapes. I did not have a helicopter that I liked as a Cricut Shape so I used a plane stamp.

We took a helicopter ride down to the river.

Challenge #: One side or the other: Focus on only one side ofyour project (either one...no preference) and keep the rest of white space. Now If you have been keeping up with the links you saw my prior pages I made for the guys with this photo and pattern paper. For my layout I kept the background a solid color and used pattern paper.

You need to hop on over to Kate's blog Queen Kat and see what she has created for this hop.

Wow - you were definitely inspired by the challenges this month! You did a great job with all of them. I especially like the third one - I had a very hard time making a layout with a lot of white space but you made it look effortless!
