Happy Birthday Card

My youngest has his birthday next week so I had to hurry up and make a card. I actually though I had one more week before I had to do this and didn't even remember it while I was putting my Counterfeit Kit together. I could have used the additional kit that I made up for iNSD but decided against it when I found out the Archir -scraps challenge this month is based on this picture

and to use Black, White and Yellow plus a Clock.  I have the yellow Recollection paper in my CKC - Adventure Awaits so I pulled out the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock Die and the Close to My Heart Say It in Style stamp set for my sentiment.

I used a left over piece from my layouts for the background and matted it onto black cardstock. I cut the die out of the black cardstock then glued it to the front of the card.
Using some a piece of black cardstock I cut more of the clock for the envelope. The Happy Birthday is stamped onto white cardstock and I used foam tape to pop it up.

I had a little bit of the clock face left so I used it on the inside of the card.

I have a whole sheet of the yellow Recollections paper left and I think I'll make a birthday page for him using it and more clock faces.

Happy Birthday - Milestone Birthdays

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me from the Card A Day Blog.  Today's theme is Milestone Birthdays.  My younger sister is turning something with a 0 at the end, or should I say 39 again, and here is a card for her.  I do have the cutting instructions listed below.

I started by cutting the inside panel out of the Paper Lace cartridge and matting it onto green then onto the tan cardstock.  I used a piece of the striped pattern paper for the main background panel.

After cutting out and gluing the flowers together I placed them where I wanted them to go then added the die cut leaves and punched branches.  When I had them where I wanted them I added glue to hold them together.  I then added stickles to the center of the flowers.

For the inside I matted the white cardstock onto a piece of the blue then use a small unlayered flower
with the branches and leaves.  It is a bit bulky but the card will be put in a box for my sister along with her present.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks for stopping by.

Sassy Studio Sock Hop and Paper Craft Planet's Birthday

The Paper Craft Planet's Progressive challenge this month is to use Sassy Studio's Sock Hop image and a Happy Birthday Theme.

I decided to make a small heart gift box for the backdrop of my image.  Using the Heart Box template I traced and cut out all of the pieces of the box, then cut patterned papers to fit the sides, lid and bottom. I forgot how long it takes to hand cut all the elements out instead of using my Cricut.

Next I printed out my Sassy Studio image and colored her in. I thought she need some definition so I glued her to a piece of black cardstock and cut her out again. She now stands out better against the box.

For my box top I pulled out my jar of premade flowers and selected a few that went with the colors on the box. A few bead and scraps of ribbon tucked around and my lid is finished.

I wrapped the sentiment around a toothpick, added a bead to the top and my Happy Birthday Flag is complete.

Thanks for stopping by.

Recipe:
Paper: Recollections - white and black; October Afternoon - Strawberry Jam (polka dot); Unknown: Crate Paper (blue pattern paper on top of box); Basic Grey (side stripe around the box)
Ink: Distress Ink - Vintage Photo; Stazon - Jet Black
Stamps: Close to My Heart - Say it in style
Box Template: Personal Stamp Exchange - Heart Box Template
Colored Pencils: Generals Kimberly - 703 Blue, 710 Pink, 770 French Blue; Steadtler - Peach, Light Blue, Light Brown, Medium Brown, and White
Misc.: Handmade flowers, beads, scraps of ribbon, adhesive, pencil, toothpick and scissors

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone thanks for stopping by.  Today's theme for the Card A Day Blog is Happy Birthday.

I started with a dark purple card base then pattern paper.  I used my Cricut and Design Studio  to size and cut out the "Far East" background piece.  I cut the flower out on three different shades of purple, the leaf out a green and the butterfly out of three shades of yellow.

I inked all the edges of the pieces and layered them onto my card base.  I then stamped the sentiment onto what card stock and cut it into a banner shape.  After everything was in place I added stickles to the top layer of the butterfly and on the inside of the flower.

To finish off the card I added the pattern paper to the inside of the card with a white mat. Don't forget to enter the challenges we have this month.
