Peony

My Peony is just starting to open up. It was a nice fat bud Sunday and by Monday morning this is what I see. This one always blooms before the others and they are planted in the same location. I made a bouquet out a peony flower, a couple of the Japanese Iris flowers with greenery and a sweet pea.

With all of our crazy weather I thought that I might loose all of the buds and it wouldn't bloom this year, but it looks like I will have bumber crop of blooms.

Gardening . . .

is a craft, a science and an art. To practice it well requires the enthusiasm of the true amateur and the understanding of the true student.

Author: Louise and James Bush-Brown

I thought I would snap a few pictures while I took Izzy out Wednesday Night. This is the first time the Clematis has bloomed. Between the rabbits and my husband it's had a rough three years. I planted two more last year and one of them is back. It is just starting to get a few buds on it.

I've had to trim my Fuchsia as the wind had beaten it up a bit so I have a lot of starts in the house now. I think I will try and winter a few of them this year.

I took a picture of the iris before I went to work Wednesday morning. The weather called for more rain and I new it wouldn't look pretty when I got home.

Happy Birthday....

And he still gets embarrassed by his dad. The Queen of Quirk is having a contest about the guys in our life.

Dale stopped at Dorothy Ann Bakery and picked up some cute Hamburger Cookies, Taco Cookies and a Cheese Cake for Doug's birthday. Then is doing a Show 'N Tell with them.

Back to a semi - normal life...

OK, I'm back from Montana/Nebraska and the rush of tax season is over, now I just have to get caught up. Not that April was not busy for me, but Mom passed away on the 15th. A mad rush of a trip to Montana and Nebraska, trying to get a message to David who is overseas, and making travel arrangements for 4 people and a dog. I will make another trip sometime this summer to help Dad. I got home tonight and dumped the projects I was working on for Mom for Mother's Day in a file. I just can't look at them right now. My projects for Marie are in there also.
