White Window Card

I used my Cricut and several different cartridges to make today's card. I had made a similar card for Thanksgiving and decided to make one in white. We don't have snow any more so I think this is as close as we will get.

I don't use purple very much but it looks so elegant on this card. I used a narrow ribbon for the bow in the corner and lots of pearls all over the place for the flower centers and some of the berries or buds.

There is lots of layering and I believe it added to the card. For the flowers I used a paint brush handled and rolled them backwards to give them dimension.

The Cricut cutting instructions are on my Thanksgiving post.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

This week at the Card A Day Blog we are celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving.  When I think of Thanksgiving I think of going home, pulling up to the ranch house with the lights on inside and the vehicles parked in front, the meals and family and friends waiting inside.  Hopefully this card will have you thinking about the same things.

I used my Cricut to cut out the window, border and one of the branches.  I know there are dies out there that have similar cuts if you don't have a Cricut.  I then used the distress inks to color my window and the heat tool to dry it - I was impatient.

I made the flowers out of the punches, layered them together and added pearls centers.  I added pearls to the inside of the border section and a few around the outside of the flowers.  Tied a bow to the corner and a cluster of flowers to finish it off.

I kept the inside pretty plain as I my note will take up the page.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Missing You Everyday

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by my blog.  Today I'm the Designer at the Card A Day Blog and I'm starting off a new theme this week of "Your Choice".  I've had this card on my Design Studio for ages and decided I would like to get it done.  Where I've used the Cricut you can use any die cut or punch you have.

I started off by cutting my lace, hearts and heart outlines using Design Studio.

For the inside I added a little strip of the background paper to the left side and inked all the edges with burgundy ink.

So what kind of card would you like to make for your "Challenge" today? I hope you enjoyed today's card. Thanks for stopping by.

Get Well Soon

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me from the Card A Day Blog.  I'm starting the week off with Get Well cards.

I started with a brown base cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2, scored on the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4". The polka dot and flower paper was cut to 4" x 5 1/4". I layered this with a piece of brown card stock cut at 1 1/2" x 4 1/4" and the green and white paper is cut at 1 1/4" x 4 1/4".  Then topped with a bow. I used the Paper Lace cartridge to cut my sentiment and it's shadow out.

For the inside I inked my stamp with Melon Mambo and stamped it onto white card stock twice then onto my mat.

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow Shelley Bordeleau from Gardens Craft'n More will be your Card A Day Blog Designer.

Happy Anniversary

I need to take to the office an Anniversary card for one of my co-workers and found this card.  I haven't used the Paper Lace cartridge before but now have several ideas so watch for upcoming projects.   I started by welding the shadow featured together then arranging the circles and design element onto my card.

I stamped and embossed the white flowers then stamped the leaves and hand cut them out.  The tag is from the Heritage cartridge and sized to fit onto the card in Design Studio.  I added a piece of lace to the background and layered everything onto top.

I cut two extra red circles and two white circles for the inside of the card as I need plenty of room for well wishes.  I stamped the leaf from Fabulous Florets a couple of times on each white circle.  All of the edges are inked with Vintage Photo.

Since my card is fat from all the layers and pop up dots my envelope needs to be able to accommodate this.  I used Wild Card to cut my envelope on a piece of scrap paper, folded it up and made sure I could slide the card easily in and out before I cut into my DSP.

Thanks for stopping by.
