Gift Cards

Hi everyone, today I'm substituting for Laury from Just Laury for the Card A Day Blog. The theme this week is Gift Cards and I have a cute one for you.  My card is sized at 4 1/4'x5 1/2" when it's closed as I wanted it to fit into a regular envelop.

This is what my card looks like with the gift card inside it.  I made a shaped card using my From My Kitchen and George to make my card base.  You can easily recreate with a tabbed punch if you don't have a Cricut.

I decorated the inside of the card and then used score tape on the shortest edges of the card.  I like the score tape as it is narrower than my adhesive.

The "Gift Card" part measures 4" x 4 7/8"  I cut the green pattern paper just a little bit smaller so that I have a white border around it.  I then marked where I wanted my gift card to go and used the slot punch to punch on either side of my marks.  I like to punch one side then slide the card back in and adjust my markings if needed then punch that side.

I like to cover up where the punch is on the back by covering the back of the gift card.  I also like to add a mat that I can then add a note to.

To attach the mitten I put the gift card holder into the card then glue the mitten top to the top of the gift card holder.  This way I can make sure that everything is lined up on the front of the card.  I added a small bow and button with red ribbon threaded through it to each mitten.  I also stamped and embossed each mitten.

This is what the card looks like with the gift card removed. I added one the sentiments from the paper collection by matting it to red card stock and cutting the edges into a banner shape.

Card Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; scored on the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" then Punch your tabbed top.

Really cute card, Cindy. So good that you could make it up so quickly, too.
