August Counterfeit Kit - For the Guys.

The inspiration for the August Counterfeit Kit is from Gossamer Blue. I love the colors in this kit - great for guy pages, nice tone on tones and darker colors.

Here's my first set of papers - I pick mostly tone on tone papers.

Colorbok - Mint Julep, Rhonna Farrer, Green Cardstock, Colorbok - Poolside, Colorbok Delilah, Black Cardstock, Reminisce -Real Magic "Firework Spectacular, Unknown Green and PSX Golf Swing,

I did download the word stickers that Lisa had as part of her forgeries. Then I pulled three stamps and die sets from Papertrey Ink - Monthly Moments Tabbed and Slide Frame and A Few Pointers. I thought they were a perfect match to the sticker sheet.

For the second set of papers I have scraps from three paper pads - DCWV - Sky's the Limit, Sunday Afternoon and Sweet Tangerine stacks. I want to turn them into a mini album or two - there is at least and 1" of scraps and a few scrap pieces of cardstock. After I make the mini's I'm done with this set of papers.

My last set of paper I pulled have the dark blues orange and red in them. Paper that I thought would be good for some guy layouts. These are papers that I only have one sheet of so I will have to pull cardstock into the pages more than normal and will probably not be able to make similar pages in 8 1/2 x11 and 12x12.

Cherry Arte - Girl Power, Little Yellow Bicycle - Life Collection "Board Shorts Orange", "Wipe Out Orange", "Regatta"; Basic Grey - Mellow :Savory"; Scenic Route - Kraft Spinner, Kraft Surf Board and Kraft Surf Leaf; Little Yellow Bicycle - Life Collection "Ride the Wave" and "Wipe Out Blue"; Creative Imaginations - 2 unknown names; Little Yellow Bicycle - Life Collection "Gears" and "Skate Park Stripe"; and lastly Creative Imaginations - Red Banner.

I had a couple of extra large alphabets from Pink Paislee - Weathered Wood in Denim and Scarlet and ribbon to match along with a sticker sheet from 7 gypsies.

Then I pulled a few embellishments: buttons, flowers, more ribbon, tags, a few pieces of chipboard and a chipboard mini "mini" album - its 3 1/2" x 3 3/4".

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to head over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, as they have already posted their forgeries.

I used the Glorious Garden Counterfeit Kit for these layouts.  I had two sheets each of circle and woodgrain paper so I used a sheet of each to make a double page layout in 12x12 and 8 1/2x 11 for the guys. All of the papers have been inked in the gathered twigs distress ink.

I made a couple of embellishment clusters for this layout. I cut the sentiment from the Home Basics paper pad, used a photo frame die cut leftover from another project and added a punched border and label.

I kept the 4x6 photo mats on the 8 1/2"x11" layout, just shrunk the paper size down and moved the element cluster to the other side.

I made a sheet of different words using different fonts. This embellishment cluster used "good stuff" along with more of the punched borders, a couple of pennants and twine.

Instead of 4 4x4 photo spots I have a 4x6 and a 2x4 for each row.

I had a little bit of paper scraps left over so I used them on a project life page that can be sandwiched in between the two layouts

. I kept the pages fairly simple using the paper as borders, pennants and punching borders.

Following the Sun

I’m using Page Set #3 from my 100 Pattern Paper Challenge which had some scraps from Jen Hatfield - Home Made "the Best of" along with some puppies cut with the Cricut. The challenge for the month of June is to pull out our punches.

The white cardstock was already punched a few times for the border on the top left, I then layered the paper across the page. Since I had a few puppies cut out I thought a day of Izzy following the sun spots would be the perfect photos for this page.

I typed my journaling, printed it out, then trimmed it down to fit the journaling spot.
The small photos are 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and the large one is 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".

I used some embroidery floss under the die cut puppies for a little bit of movement. I tried to have the puppies sitting in a different direction each time.

The journaling reads:
Since Doug moved out, Izzy has taken over his bed. She starts there then moves to front door following the Sun spots through the front room. Eventually she ends back up on the bed for the afternoon sun with her friends for a nap..

I did not use the doily pieces so that is added back into my box.

Wedding Album and Card

I finished this Wedding Album for Diane. I followed Corenes Creations  instructions for her 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Gatefold Album. Her wedding colors are Peach, White and Biscotti. I've pulled papers from several different collection to get my colors. (This is a photo heavy post, click on a photo for it get larger.) I'm not posting all the pages just a few so that you get the idea of the color scheme.

I used Kraft Cardstock for the base of this album. Front of the album has the Reminsce Romance Paper with a stamped image and die cut out. I've sprinkled some of the sequins across the front. Even though I have the ribbon tied at the bottom there are magnets on the right side to help hold it closed.

I used paper from DCWV - The Linen Closet Stack to cover the inside flaps, but did not cover the inside circle flap.

Each flap has a page insert with a  Kraft paper base and punched with the Martha Stewart Cherish border punch.
Page 1 fronts left and right sides:

Left side uses ColorBok: Mint Julep Collection and Amy Tangerine: Stitched Collection in the pocket.

Right side uses Stampin' Up- The Basics paper pad and Heidi Swapp - Magonila Jane "Georgian Charm" in the pocket.

Page 1 backs left and right sides:

Left side uses Anna Griffin - French Fancy Collection "Ivory" and Heidi Swapp - Magnolia Jane "Magnolia in the pocket

Right side uses Teresa Collins - Tell Your Story "Frames" and Up 6x6 paper pad - The Basics in the pocket

Page 2 fronts  left and right sides:

Left side uses DCWV - The Timeless Texture Stack and Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla in the pocket.

Right side uses Heidi Swapp - Magonila Jane "Blushed" and Amy Tangerine: Stitched Collection in the pocket.

I have two pocket pages in this album.
Pocket page 1:

The base of the page uses pattern paper from the Websters Pages 12x12 paper pad - Love Story and the pocket uses DCWV - The Linen Closet Stack.

The flower and "together" tag are from the Websters Pages 12x12 paper pad - Love Story. I added a few heart sequins to the flower tag. The lacy circle is cut from more of the kraft paper and matted with Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla.

The lacy circle is matted with ColorBok: Mint Julep Collection and the rectangles are matted with Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla

Pocket Page 2:

On the base of the page I used Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla and a unknown scrap for the pocket.

The large tag is again from the Websters Pages 12x12 paper pad - Love Story. The lacy circle is matted with paper from Amy Tangerine: Stitched Collection. Since she is getting married in August I had a calendar scrap that I matted onto Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla with a piece of the Stampin' Up seam binding behind it.

On each tag I used a pattern paper that she could journal on to one side and a pattern paper to other.

From the Simple Stories 6x6 paper pad - Posh Collection I cut apart some of the 2x2's for mini tags.

Keeping with the larger tags I matted onto Kraft cardstock then used pattern paper on one side.

For the inside base and last pages I used both the front and back of Reminisce - Romantique Collection " Romance". I think it's one of my favorite papers. I just love the roses with the barn wood.

Here is what the last set of pages with the pocket inserts.

The page insert on the left uses Heidi Swapp - Magnolia Jane "Miss Jane" and the right side uses DCWV - The Linen Closet Stack.

For her card the base is kraft cardstock and measures 8 1/2" x 7 5/8" closed. I again used the Reminisce - Romantique Collection " Romance".  I stamped used the Inkadinkado stamp that doesn't have name on the Bazzil Basics - Canvas Texture - Vanilla, clear embossed it and die cut it out. I used the same stamp for the envelope.

Since the card is going to the office for signatures I had to make a large one. The inside sentiment is from Inkadinkado Wedding\Marriage stamp set. I again used the dies to cut them out.

Back in April the 100 Pattern Paper Challenge was to use 25 sheets of Kraft paper. I think I have it covered with this album. I can't count the pattern paper as I placed an order for most of it. Also in June the Challenge was to use your punches. I used one punch through out this album - Martha Stewart's Cherish Border punch.

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to see the rest of the pages leave me a comment letting me know.

Cards from April Counterfeit Kit - Glorious Garden

I used my April Counterfeit Kit Glorious Garden and the April 2017 Unity Stamp Company {be my bird} to make a few cards. All but one of the card have no sentiments as I will add them when I know what I'm using them for. I like to keep a supply of cards I can just add the sentiment to. I used the Misty to stamp them.

Card #1:

I stamped using gray ink and clear embossed.  I used gelatos to color the flowers and leaves, then cut a stitched die to cut it out.

Card #2:
The bike is stamped and embossed and colored in with colored pencils.

Card #3:
I used the Unity Girl for this card. She is stamped and clear embossed colored with pencil colors.  The Wink of Stella pen was used on her beads and feathers. The embossed piece is from another project.

Card #4:
I stamped the floral bouquet on two of the corners of the pink cardstock. I used glossy accents on a couple of the flowers and the Wink of Stella pen on the lily's. (if you click on the picture you can see the Wink of Stella better)

Card #5:
The butterfly was stamped and embossed after using the smooching technique with plastic wrap.  I wrapped a twine around the top and cut the butterfly into a tag shape.

Card #6:
I stamped the floral bouquet onto white cardstock and used the Stampin' Up markers on a acrylic block with water to color them in. I used the Wink of Stella pen on the white lilies. A little bit of ribbon finishes off the card. I have to remember to use the Wink of Stella more as it gives a really nice shine.

Card #7:
I stamped and colored my bird first then stamped the sentiment for the card. I had to fiddle a little bit to get the sentiment where I wanted it. I only used part of the sentiment for this card.

Paper: Recollections cardstock - kraft, white, grey and pink; Partial Sheet of NRN - Glorious Garden and ColorBox Collections - Mint Julep and Deliliah; Water color paper
Ink: Stazon Ink - Dove Gray; Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black; Distress Ink - brushed corduroy, rusty hinge
Stampin' Up Markers, Gelatos and colored pencils.
