Fall Cards

I'm trying to do more stamping on my layouts and to get back into the habit of making more cards. I included many stamp sets in my September Counterfeit Kit  and this one for the truck and the canning jar as they were included in our inspiration kit. Apple Crisp Classic Kit.

Then I saw that beautiful chrysanthemum under the truck I knew I need to make a couple of cards with it.  I also think I need to include that image in a pocket page.

So I inked it up in black and colored it in using colored pencils.  I pulled out a teal cardstock for my base, cut it down and scored it. I then used my die to cut out the front panel and layered my colored flower inside.  I thought it was a little plain so I stamped on the card front in opposite corners with a flourish stamp.

I stamped the chrysanthemum again on the envelopes and used clear embossing powder. Love the way they turned out.

Don't forget to stop by the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to see what everyone has created. We love to see you work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can do this by the Link Up page on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, posting in the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Facebook community Group or on Instagram (find us @counterfeitkitchallenge and share with the #counterfeitchallenge).

Sympathy Card

Today I need a card for a co-worker who's husband passed away suddenly.  This just reinforces how short life is.

I used my computer to print my sentiment, using Tangerine at 72pt for  "Thinking" then centering "OF YOU" underneath in Calibri at 30pt. I couldn't get this to work in word so I had to use Photoshop.  I wish I had the Sincere Salutations from Stampin' Up and I would have just used the stamp. I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo - it really is my go to ink.

I used my Cricut to cut out three ovals out of the George and Basic Shapes.  The small oval I ran through my printer to get my sentiment on.  I then layered my cuts from the Damask Decor attached the pearls and the flowers.  I added foam tape to the back of my ovals.

I again inked the inside mat then add the paisley accent with a couple of white flowers and pearls.  I then added more pearls up the right hand side and to the bottom of the card.

It's a very pretty card for a really sad occasion. Thanks for stopping by.

For Day 28 I used the Stampin' Up Two Step Bird punch. I punched everything out of the white glitter paper. It's hard to tell in the picture but it looks great in person. The rest of the white layers is white cardstock and only the large white background is embossed.

I added a couple of prima flowers and peals, ribbon and layered my greeting.

Peace - Day 26

Only a few more days left for the 30 Days of Christmas Cards. This card is based on Heather's card sketch #1 at Scrapbook Heaven's Card Crop.

I made my own glimmer mist and sprayed the doily, crumpled it and dried it with my heat gun. If you don't have a doily a snowflake would work just as well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Snowflake Lace - Day 25

Today's card is scraplifted from Michelle at Scrapbook Heaven. Remember they are having their November Holiday Card Crop going on until the 27th. I made a lace paper using snowflakes and mounted it onto white chard stock.

T

The buckle if from yesterday's post. I used lace on the card front instead of the sheer ribbon.

I've also used a piece of the snowflake lace on the inside of the card to finish it off.

I've used the same supplies Michelle did for her card. This is from the December card kit.

I've glued a small strip of the lace paper and glued it to the inside of the card to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Vintage Christmas Card - Day 24

I have a lot of graphic clip art and one of the places I get some freebies is from Dover Publications. I had signed up to receive their free samples and this where I got the vintage Santa's for these two cards. This card is based on the Scrapbook Heaven Card Crop Lee's #1 Card Tutorial.

I used a scallop punch and x-mas tree to make my accents. I also embossed the tree with the swirl stamp and white embossing powder before covering with Diamond Glaze. The buckle is from the Fabulous Finds Cartridge and embossed with gold embossing powder.
Side view of the card. Since I did not use pop up dots it's really pretty flat for mailing.

For my swirl paper I stamped the swirls and embossed them to get the same look Lee had with he paper.
Thanks for stopping by.

I do have a cricut file for the buckle and I've enclosed a pattern for a circle and a Christmas trees which I have not cut. Click here for the cut file.

Warmest Wished - Day 23

I just love the ribbon attached to the mittens on this card. It reminds me of when the guys were little and puts a smile on my face. Now I used the Designers Calendar for the mittens but there are a lot of cartridges that have mittens on them.
I cut a small triangle to put behind the mittens so that the snowflake would be white. I did not glue the bottom edge of the mitten until I placed my ribbon.

I pop dotted the stocking cap and added a strip of pattern paper to the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Snowflake Merry Christmas - Day 22

30 Days of Christmas Card Day 22 is another from the Scrapbook Heaven November Card Crop from Jules Card Tutorial #3.

Well I didn't follow the sketch to the letter, but I followed most of it. If you remember my post for card #20 - I said I would be using my scraps well this card is all about scraps. The snowflakes were stamped from another project and I didn't use them. Don't they look wonderful on this card.
I stamped my sentiment directly onto the pattern paper instead of using a rub on (remember I'm using my scraps and what I have).

Thanks for stopping by.

Peace on Earth - Day 20

Today the Holiday Card Crop at Scrapbook Heaven starts. My card for today is based on Lee's Holiday Card Crop Teaser. Ive decided to use up my scraps for the card fronts and I can use a new sheet of cardstock for the card base if I need to.

I drew the holly leaves, creased the center vein, and inked the edges. The brad is is one of those great big brad and I used stickles on it to spice it up a bit.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree - Day 18

I used Unscripted Sketch # 81. Today's card is not for the weak of heart. I cut the saying "A partridge in a pear tree" a couple of times before I was happy with it. I am using the negative space for this card and mine kept tearing. I finally broke out a new mat.

I have my snowflake on a clear button and a brown pearl for the eye. With the exception of the card base and the pattern paper everything is cut from scrap paper.

I welded the gift box from Joys of the Seasons to a rectangle from George to get the present shape for the inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

Angel Easel Card- Day 17

Today's card is an Easel Card. I used the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers for my card and my card is a regular size 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I love how this turned out.

I used Smooch Pearlized for the wings to give it just a hint of shimmer. I don't have light blue markers so I used the stamp pad lid and my aqua pen to pick up the ink.

The inside for the sentiment is blank as I don't know what I want it say yet and it will only take a minute to stamp it in.

Thanks for stopping by.

Reindeer Shaped Card - Day 16

If you are looking for Day 15 please scroll down, there is several posts for today. I made another shaped card - I had to use the other half of my mat from Day 15. You could always use the mats as photo mats on a layout to go with your card.

The embossing doesn't show up to well in the photo but it is there.

I stamped twice with the snowflake to get the different shades.

Thanks for stopping by.

If you are looking for the cut file scroll down to Day 15.

Dove Shaped Card - Day 15

If you are looking for Day 14 please scroll down, there will be a couple of posts today. The challenge for Christmas Card Challenge Week # 50 is to make a shaped card. I selected the card from A Child's Year cartridge. There is a bunch of card shapes on this cartridge and I hardly ever use them.

I stamped the image on white cardstock and mounted it on a piece of pattern paper.
I made a smaller mat from the card, cut in half and inked the edges. The snowflakes are stamped twice before reinking the stamp.
