Thanks for joining me from the Card A Day Blog, today we are celebrating Spring. I'm ready for spring but it is still winter here and still snowing. I have a quick card to share with you today; it's quick because I used the Cricut to do most of the work.
I cut the girl watering flowers from the A Child's Year Cartridge out of black card stock, the scallop circle is from the Lacy Labels cartridge and the light peach circle is from George and the Basic Shapes cartridge.
Out of the light peach cardstock I stamped the butterfly and punched it out and punched the border strip. I added the ribbon to cover up my edges then topped it off with a bow, a black button with a double bow and my punched butterfly.
Using the same butterfly stamp I stamped them onto the white mat on the inside of the card.
Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow Vicki Schram is the Designer for the Card A Day Blog. Don't forget to enter you card in the challenge this month.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today I'm posting for the Card A Day Blog and have made a hinge card for St. Patrick's Day. Cutting instructions is at the bottom of the post.
I started out by cutting the card base and the white mat. I originally had a green for my base but it was just too much green so I swapped it out the a gold to match the coins in the pot. I then cut the paper for the flap and the belly band. All of my edges are inked. When I had my placement I used the crop-a-dile to punch a hole through the flap then the card base and attached with a brad. Then I attached the band being sure to keep the pop up dots below the the hing flap.
I used Cricut Designers Studio to weld and cut the hat from A Childs Year. I inked the edges added a scrap of black card stock and attached the hat to the top of the flap. I cut the sentiment using Martha Stewart Seasonal cartridge.
Since there is not much room for writing a personal note I have a another mat to the back of the card base. My card does not fit into a regular envelope I did not take into account the hat at the top of the card. If you want your card to fit you will need to make adjustment for that.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see what Debi Barber has to inspire you. She is starting off with a new challenge.
I'm entering this card in the Operation Write Home - Show Us Your Green Challenge.

Witch's Shoe - Challenge #34
Gina's weekly challenge at My Scrap Room is to make a witch's shoe using a paper shoe pattern from Skip To My Lou.org along with a few other requirements.
We were only required to make one, but these are going to be for the girls at the office so I made a few.
I can only get one outside shoe template on a piece of 12 x 12 paper, but I can get two inside shoe templates on a piece of 12x12 paper

The witches are cut with my Cricut at 2 7/8" from A Child's Year cartridge. I used two per shoe, glittered the outside and hot glued them to the top of the spider web.

Delployment Ceremony layouts
Well I missed the last challenge for the ScrapBookClasses layout challenge - but I made this one. Here is the sketch we are suppose to use.
When I first saw it I thought there was only two pictures and not three. I had printed off some pictures of a wedding we were at last year and then saw the third picture so I changed and printed out pictures from the Deployment ceremony from May. I picked up this Teen Angst paper pack specifically for my guys as it is really reminds me of them.
I cut the flag out sever times then did a little bit of fussy cutting to the pieces back together. The change on the dog tags is the pearls on a string you find in the floral department in a container. I just used silver ink and Utee on it. Be careful that you don't melt you pearls.
I did ink all the pieces in brown ink except for the background paper from Teen Angst. I used two pieces of that and cut it so that it flows from one page to the next. I inked these pieces in black.
Click here for the cut file.
Recipe:
Paper: We R Memory Keepers - Teen Angst; Recollections - Brown, black cardstock; Scraps of silver, vellum, red, white and blue
Ink: Color Box - Silver, Inkadinkadoo - Coffee Bean; Versa Magic - Midnight Black
Cricut Cartridges: A Child's Year, George, MS All Occasions, Stand and Salute
Misc: adhesive, pop up dots, foam tape, string pearls, Utee

Cricut 360 Challenge #8 - Back To School
The new challenge at Cricut 360 is Back to School. I decided to make a mini 6x6 album. I used a couple pieces of recycled chipboard boxes for this project. I inked all the edges of the album with Distress Ink. The page elements were either inked in brown or white.
I used a couple of different cartridges for this challenge. The photo frame is from Accent Essentials, the bus charm Doodlecharms and the boy is from A Child's Year. I used The forest Branches embossing folder to distress the frame.
I used the border feather on the Doodlecharms cartridge to create the bus border.
The alphabet mat is from Graphically Speaking and the apple charm is from Doodlecharms

Rainy Day
Back in April Sketch Support was using an umbrella on their layouts and projects. I had some of the Piggy Tales Kit left over and thought it would make a great Rainy Day layout with the umbrella as a border.

I searched my cartridges to find one that had an umbrella on it and realized that I also need to use the boy with the umbrella from A Child's Year since this layout is going to my sister for her grandson.

The tag in the corner is only glued on the side and bottom so that the photo can slide behind it. When I got ready to cut my title I changed the font from All Mixed Up to Jasmine but both are in the cut file.

Love Birds
My guys had given me a 12x24 mat for my Cricut last year and I have not used it. While I was out picking up a new heat gun I also picked up the red and black vinyl to do this project.

The hardest part was getting my Cricut to cut. I had not changed the setting to 12x24 on the Cricut itself and kept getting an error. The inside of my frame measures 13 1/2" x 10 1/2". I used George to make this size of a rectangle and placed my shapes inside it to get the right size. I cut the birds separately and did not weld them to the branch. I just a piece of batting for the background as I don't have paper this size and couldn't find a piece of material I wanted to use.

Today is the last day for the 30 Days of Christmas Cards and here is my last card. If you are looking for Day 29 please scroll down as I have a couple of posts today. The cardinal and branch are cut in white cardstock then I used stickles to give some pop.

I used a seam binding for may ribbon on this card. The frame is from A Child's Year and the sentiment has pop dots behind it.
Thanks for stopping by.
I'll post the cut file as soon as I can get 4shared to work. The file will have both the berry branch and the pine cone branch.

Stamp: Clear Stamps - Merry Christmas
Ink: Versa Magic -Red Magic; Autumn Leaves - Brown
Cricut Cartridges: A Child's Year, Winter Woodland

Dove Shaped Card - Day 15
If you are looking for Day 14 please scroll down, there will be a couple of posts today. The challenge for Christmas Card Challenge Week # 50 is to make a shaped card. I selected the card from A Child's Year cartridge. There is a bunch of card shapes on this cartridge and I hardly ever use them.

I stamped the image on white cardstock and mounted it on a piece of pattern paper.

I made a smaller mat from the card, cut in half and inked the edges. The snowflakes are stamped twice before reinking the stamp.

Joy Shaped Card - Day 10
This weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge is to use the card feature from any cartridge. I normally don't use the card features on the cartridges so it's a double challenge for me as I tend to make my own card shapes.
I cut the white card base in half and used one on the inside of the card and one on the outside of the card. The leaf is weaved over and under the flouish. I have "joy" on a button to bring it away from the page.
I used a smaller version of the leaf on the inside of the card.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Falling Leaves
This weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenges is Falling Leaves - to use at least one leaf on your project.

5 Tags in 5 Days - Day 4
One of the scrapbooking supplies I have and don't use very often is pre-made stickers and rub ons. I normally just make the saying in Adobe Photoshop, print it out and glue it to my project. So I have been challenging myself to them on these tags. "Love" on the banner is one of the stickers.
I just love this heart from the A Child's Year cartridge. After cutting out with the Cricut I flipped it over and traced around it on the back of the pink paper to make the outline at the top of the heart.
I used a punched flower from the Itty Bitty Punches as a reinforced hole on the mini tags. You could easily cut this out on the Cricut. After gluing the mini flower on I punched the hole for the ribbon.

Teddy Bear Layout
I finally got to play with my Heritage and A Child's Year cartridges and had to make a layout using the teddy bears for Sophia's album. The teddy bear on A Child's Year does not have a blackout or shadow layer. I created my own for those cuts.
I used the 4x6 sleeves between the two 8x8 pages for more photos and the journaling.
Each pages has the same mini tag cut from Tags Bags Boxes and More and the flowers cut in pink and green from George.
I inked around the pages and used chalk on the teddy bear and girl holding the bear for a softer look .
