Let Liberty Ring

Hi everyone and welcome to the continuation of the Country's Birthday at the Card A Day Blog.  Well I've been saving this piece of blue stars on the red paper for a layout and just haven't used it so I decided I would use it with the Liberty Bell for my card.  I combined it with the red metallic paper that I embossed with the stars folder.

The Liberty Bell is cut from the Stand and Salute Cartridge.  I cut it out of a scrap of DCWV silver metallic paper then inked it with burgundy ink to make it a little bit aged.  I added a blue ribbon at the bottom of the page.

I cut the stars paper again for the inside of my card then added a white journaling mat cut so there is a star border around the mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cutting Instructions:
Card Base: Blue Card stock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2",  scored at 4 1/4"
Star Embossed layer: 4" x 5 1/4" then embossed

Recipe:
Paper: Cardstock - Recollections - blue and black; DCWV - silver; Unknown - red metallic, blue and red stars
Ink: Inkadinkadoo - burgundy
Ribbon: American Crafts - Denim
Cricut Cartridges: George and the Basic Shapes, Lacey Labels and Stand and Salute.
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug - Stars

Happy Spring

Thanks for joining me from the Card A Day Blog, today we are celebrating Spring.  I'm ready for spring but it is still winter here and still snowing.  I have a quick card to share with you today; it's quick because I used the Cricut to do most of the work.

I cut the girl watering flowers from the A Child's Year Cartridge out of black card stock, the scallop circle is from the Lacy Labels cartridge and the light peach circle is from George and the Basic Shapes cartridge.

Out of the light peach cardstock I stamped the butterfly and punched it out and punched the border strip. I added the ribbon to cover up my edges then topped it off with a bow, a black button with a double bow and my punched butterfly.

Using the same butterfly stamp I stamped them onto the white mat on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow Vicki Schram is the Designer for the Card A Day Blog.  Don't forget to enter you card in the challenge this month.

Chillin'

I finished a double page layout for a wedding we attended.  I  am using the DCWV Heirloom stack for all of the pattern paper and added both black and dark brown cardstock. Remember you can click on the page to make it larger to see the detail.

I used alphabet stickers to spell out "chillin" on the top scallop,  cut out the"Good Times" from the paper and turned it into a banner on the bottom scallop.

Both pages have stick pins that I made and attached to the ribbon. I scattered a couple of buttons along with the silk roses on the pages.  These layouts are for my oldest son's album and I just love how these papers do not make it a girly page.
Cutting Instructions:
You will need to cut two of each if you are making a two page layout.
Background Paper: 12x12 Brown Cardstock
Red: 11 3/4 x 11 3/4
Green Pattern Paper: 10 1/2 x 5
Red and Blue Flower: 8 1/2 x 4 1/2
Blue and tan pattern paper: 9 1/4 x 3 1/4
Black Photo Mat: 6 1/4 x 4 1/4

Snowflake Layout

Here's a quick winter layout using the Bright and Jolly Pattern Papers and the Lacy Labels Cricut Cartridge.  I matched the snowman pattern paper with the green cardstock and another pattern paper from the Bright and Jolly Collection for the frame.

I cut some the extra snowflakes from white cardstock and added them around the outside of the frame using pop up dots.  I think there was two snowflakes I didn't use. I totally forgot to ink my edges so they are all "naked"on this layout.

Cutting Directions:
Lacy Label - Snowflake 4, button #14
Frame: 11 1/4" (layer)
Mat: 11 1/4"
Snowflakes: 11 1/4" (layer, shift)

Recipe:
Paper: Recollections - Bright and Jolly Pattern Papers, DCWV Cardstock - White and Green
Cricut Cartridge: Lacy Labels
Misc: pop up dots, adhesive.

You - 12x12 Layout

I was finally able to finish up this 12x12 layout.  I used Stampin' Up Notably Ornate stamp set an the Lacy Label shape that was cut with my Cricut.  The top part of the shape is not stamped but that is alright, as I have it tucked behind the photo mat.

The scallop border behind the smaller photo mat is from A Child's Year cartridge along with "(you)"
I have this layout in the 8 1/2 x 11 and the 8x8 pages, click here and here  if you missed those posts.

Pumpkin Button Box - Day 4

I made a "button box" from Mirkwood Designs using Pink Paislee Hocus Pocus Haunting paper  for the box.  The frame is from the Lacy Label cartridge button number 4 on the keypad.

I have a piece of the bat fence behind everything with the pom pom trim along the bottom of the box.   The pumpkins are stacked on the Designer Label punch with the ribbon attached behind them. I cut a green silk flower for the leaves on the pumpkins.  I added a couple of my stickpins and one of them is altered with ink.  I cut two wreaths , adhered them together then used pop up dots behind them so that a picture can fit inside.  I lightly inked all the edges of the box.

For the back I used more of the bat fence and a flower with an orange jewel for the center.  To keep my box closed I have a magnet behind the flower and fence.

You 8x8

On the 8x8 layout I separated the photo mats so that I could have larger pictures on each page.

I have "You" and the scallop photo mat as the first page.

The 4x6 pages are all the same with the band on the side.

I used the journaling spot and the larger photo mat on the last page.

You

Here's another layout using the Notably Ornate stamp set. I cut the shape using the Lacy Label Cricut Cartridge, then stamped onto it to create the journaling spot. The top edge of the label is not stamped but is tucked under the photo mat.

The scallop border is from the A Child's Year cartridge along with "{you}"
