Archi - Scraps Challenge

 The challenge at the Archi-Scraps is to feature mushrooms, toadstools or other fungi on your page.  I think the Design Team had a look at my camera roll and realized I had these cute mushrooms I have not talked about. 

I used a Paige Evans cut file from one of her news letters, but she has a ton of free files on her Facebook page Page Evans - Happy Scrappy Place.  One of my scrapbooking goals this year is to either get my Silhouette to work or trash it. Well wouldn't you know it worked to cut this file and another one for the Counterfeit Kit Club. 

Then of course the challenge becomes what do you do with it? I backed this with scraps from my scrap pile. I just didn't know what to dot as mixed media background so I wimped out and used paper. I have three full sheets of paper on this layout. First is the cardstock and second is the pattern paper behind the polka dot paper and third is the green polka dot paper. 

Then I added in sequins in the flower centers and circles in mushrooms. 

The pictures are actually matted onto white cardstock. I used the green polka dot behind then and a scallop punch on the same paper as the mushrooms are backed in. 

I added an orange polka dot mushroom a couple of fussy cut doilies and thread to the my journaling spot. I just needed a bit of color over there. I pulled the trimmed pieces onto the right hand side to make a bit of a border and bring what I had left over to this side.

World Card Making Day - Lots of Card

 October 3rd is World Card Making Day. I needed to make a few blank card front for Dale for his co-workers. I'm still working on old paper pads I had purchased for him with the themes for his co-workers in mind. I had a few scraps from other projects that I'm using to make the card fronts. It's just the fronts and the inside is finished. As he needs a birthday or congratulation card, selects the card he wants to use,  I will stamp the sentiment to finish off the card. 

I was able to make 16 cards from a small pile of scraps. Here's a closer look at the cards.

 

I kept the scrap pretty close to the size they were in. I just trimmed them down to fit the card fronts 

There is a tent in the top right card - it's hard to see. I love how they off cut pieced turned out.

I also did a few of the small slim line cards. I'm not sure why they the instructions I found on the internet are for a small card. 

I decided to make my own size to fit better into the envelope so they are a little larger.

Baby Boy Layouts

I've been making baby pages. I'm using up some really old baby paper and a couple of new paper to me collections. I've incorporated Pocket Pages as additional inserts and there is no pictures on here as it is a Baby Shower gift so these would be considered Base Pages.

Our Sweet and Handsome Little Guy:

I'm using Janet's RTS Scrapbooking : Base Pages Using a Collection // Gift Idea  Layout #2  for this set of pages and there is  no  Pocket Page for this set. 

The next set is a set of 2 12x12 pages and a pocket page in the pages. I'm using some really old scraps from Nana's Nursery. I had made a few baby albums in 2009 with these papers. I keep all the baby papers together as it is not something I was scrapping every day.

 These papers are all scraps that were already cut. The light green is embossed with the Echo Park - Special Delivery.

The two pocket pages are 4x6 with most of them bordered with the scraps.

I did add a label from the Colorbok collection to one of the pages 4x6's.

On the flip side of the  I used the cut a part from the Bundle of Joy collections. I find it amazing that the colors still match.

Baby Shower pages.

 I think the papers are from the Colorbox collection. They were already cut so I just layered them together. I scanned the Baby Shower invitation and printed it off for this page and added the sticker from the Bundle of Joy Collection.

 I added a few inserts using more scraps of pattern paper and added the animal pictures and a sticker from the Baby Boy sticker tablet.

The really nice thing about the pages is that she can move them around into any order she wants.

Here is what I did for my papers:

DIY stripe paper, Echo Park - Happy Camper, We R Memory Keepers - Typecast paper, American Crafts - DIY Shop, Jen Hadfield - Best of, DCWV - Mainstreet Stack, We R Memory Keepers - Typecast paper, We R Memory Keepers - Typecast paper, American Crafts - DIY Shop and the last one is from the Mainstreet Stack. I am keeping my paper pads close incase I need to pull in papers for matting or more accents. 

I've included several stamp sets, an alphabet die, twine, camera wood veneer, sequins, a 6x6 paper pad One Canoe Two - Creekside, Layered Accents from K&Company, and metal charms from Recollections.

For my forged paper I pulled out 12x12 pieces of cardstock in red, yellow, white, orange and dark rust. I was staying away from the pink in the inspiration kit as my layouts will be about a canoe trip down the Missouri, a couple of the National Parks and Dad's Surveying Equipment.
