Lilacs

 The challenge this month at Archi-Scraps is Fringe, I pulled out my Fringe scissors and various cardstock scraps and starting cutting. I then added washi tape to the top of each pieces. I used all but one of the washi tapes that was included in my kit. 

A couple  of stamped butterflies and the butterfly sticker finish off the layout.

Archi - Scraps Challenge

 The challenge at the Archi-Scraps is to feature mushrooms, toadstools or other fungi on your page.  I think the Design Team had a look at my camera roll and realized I had these cute mushrooms I have not talked about. 

I used a Paige Evans cut file from one of her news letters, but she has a ton of free files on her Facebook page Page Evans - Happy Scrappy Place.  One of my scrapbooking goals this year is to either get my Silhouette to work or trash it. Well wouldn't you know it worked to cut this file and another one for the Counterfeit Kit Club. 

Then of course the challenge becomes what do you do with it? I backed this with scraps from my scrap pile. I just didn't know what to dot as mixed media background so I wimped out and used paper. I have three full sheets of paper on this layout. First is the cardstock and second is the pattern paper behind the polka dot paper and third is the green polka dot paper. 

Then I added in sequins in the flower centers and circles in mushrooms. 

The pictures are actually matted onto white cardstock. I used the green polka dot behind then and a scallop punch on the same paper as the mushrooms are backed in. 

I added an orange polka dot mushroom a couple of fussy cut doilies and thread to the my journaling spot. I just needed a bit of color over there. I pulled the trimmed pieces onto the right hand side to make a bit of a border and bring what I had left over to this side.

Archi - Scraps Challenge - Horses

Well I don't know what I was thinking when I pull my September Counterfeit Kit - Fun Times.  I pulled a bunch of paper that I only had one sheet left and I normally have two or three sheets. Normally that means that I am making one page instead of my normal three pages. Well I made three today.  Archi-Scraps Challenge for the month of September is "Horses".

 I just love their inspiration photo.

Well I thought "I've got this!!" Do you think I could find a picture of branding, moving cows from one pasture to another, a trail ride, hauling hay in the winter, barrel racing, or even roping? Heck I would have settled for one of the parades we were in. Goodness I've lived on the back of our horses since I could walk, I know I have horse pictures. So I dug some more and found these pictures of the Jousting at the Renaissance Festival a couple of years ago.

My paper is from my third set of paper and it's perfect for this layout. I added some colorful banners on the top left to represent the colors on the horses. I cut the shaft of the arrows down and glued it on top of each other. I started to use my alphabet dies for the title but switched to the stickers as they were just to big.

My journaling reads:
The Renaissance Festival was moving to a new location We stopped and had breakfast on the way. Left our tickets at home and had to have Doug meet us with them (good thing he was home).

I used a couple more of the arrows on the top of layout then a tag I had in my stash. I wanted to leave a spot for their journaling. The center picture is popped up on craft foam so they can tuck pictures behind it.

As for my youngest's layout I cut down the photo mat just a smidgen then added smaller one to the left.

I pulled out my January Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Make It Good for a couple of Challenges. Now I made these cards before the challenges were over but just didn't get them posted.


The challenge for Archi-scraps is black and white.  I had the black and white paper in my 6x6 paper pad Fancy Pants Office Suite

I used the Stampin' Up Northern Flurry embossing folder on the white background, most of the snowflakes are covered up with just a bit peeking out.  I added black rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes. I added a little bit of the "&" black and white paper from this layout on the inside of the card


The second challenge was a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches - Sketch 372.

I used the Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder on this card along with the Fancy Pants Office Suite black and white paper.
