hello, hello & hello . . .

This week's challenge at BBTB2 is "things that fly in nature".  I found a butterfly image on the Picturesque  cartridge and decided to make a shaped card.  For the card base I welded the two butterfly shapes together in Design Studio using the shadow feature.

I used the base feature to cut the vellum and the base shift to cut the purple cardstock.I embossed the vellum to add a little bit more texture to the card.

I stamped the "hello, hello & hello" sentiment and hand cut it out leaving just a little bit of white around the stamping and used pop up dots to attach it to the card.  I stamped the butterfly on the inside of the card to finish it off - there was just to much white.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

This is a fairly quick card to put together and the best part is that I made it out of scraps.   My card base is 4 1/2 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.  The light blue cardstock is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and the newsprint is 3 3/4 x 5, the newsprint is stamped with the Doily Background stamp.  I punched two pieces of off white cardstock with the Lace Ribbon Punch and inked the edges with vintage photo.

I used the oval Designer frame and embossed the green cardstock then tore around the edges, stamped the butterfly with the melon mambo and placed it in the center of the oval.  Thinking of you is stamped on more off white cardstock stock and mounted onto tan cardstock.  After I had my placement down I threaded a piece of embroidery floss through the Lace Ribbon and tied a button onto it.

Thanks so much for stopping by looking at my card.  Don't forget to enter the challenge and stop back to see Tina's start of the new theme Easter.

Bliss

I started with the Bliss stamp set and stamped my image across the top and bottom.  I do have the image offset on the bottom as I wanted more of it to show from behind my Bliss tag.  I used the same ink throught this project.

I punched the bottom edge of the tan cardstock then stamped the image again in the center.  I made the Polka Dot strip from the same paper as I didn't have a purple pattern paper that would go .  "Bliss" is stamped and punched with the decorative label and there are pop up dots behind it and the butterfly.  I used foam tape on three two sides of the tan tag so that they could slide photo or journaling behind it.

With my 8x8 albums I like to include the two 4x6 inserts.  I kept them pretty simple by stamping my main image along the bottom then punching the tan cardstock again.  The 2x8 strip has a mini tag like the one on the main page.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks So Much - Creating Pretty Cards 7

I needed a thank you card and decided to use the sketch from Craft Project Central and based it on my {Love} Card.

I added a few extra pearls to the ribbon on the left hand side and one on each side of the bow.

I also added the little flower stamp in the inside of the card from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

Once again I stamped then embossed the envelope.  It's a little thing but it really adds a lot when you send the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

{Love} - Creating Pretty Cards 7

I created this card for this month's challenge at Craft Project Central.  The challenge runs all month long and you can enter as may times as you wish, but you must use Stampin' Up supplies only.  In the past I have started out with great intentions and somewhere along the line I've used something that wasn't Stampin' Up so I haven't entered.  Today however I got it right!!!

I stamped the medium sized doily onto whisper white card stock and punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch.  The card base is Basic Gray and the pattern papers are from the Welcome Neighbor paper pack.

For the inside I cut the Whisper White at 5 1/4" x 4 " and a border using the Welcome Neighbor DSP.

I stamped with the other three stamps from the Delicate Doilies set on the  envelope and then embossed using Melon Mambo Embossing powder.  I believe that it's a nice touch to finish off your card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bloom Layout

I had a little bit of free time this week end so I finished a layout I had made in Design Studio. It's not a Fall, Thanksgiving or Christmas related just one I have been wanting to do.

I started by stamping The bird and bee from Nature Walk and the Decorative stamp from Bliss in Soft Suede randomly on my tan cardstock.  I stamped the Butterfly from Nature Walk in Rich Razzleberry.   I then used my glue gun to attach a piece of lace, I had left over from another project, to the back of my stamped cardstock.  I inked my tan photo and journal mat with Soft Suede.

I used pop up dots for the branch at the bottom of the layout The other branch I cut apart and placed it where I wanted it to go.  After that I added the large purple flowers then my pearls from the Stampin' Up Pretties Kit.  I then filled in the area around the flowers with the punched purple and orange flowers.  I used two different sizes of pearls for the centers.   I then added the yellow roses after twisting the wire around a paint brush handle.

The vellum butterflies are inked and placed randomly around the page.  I layered the single butterfly wing on the page with hot glue and then layered the other one a little bit off so that it looks like they were flying.  The butterflies that are in one piece I used pearls for the bodies.  This large butterfly was a happy accident as I was originally going to cut the outline out of vellum and the body out of the pattern paper.  I had my papers in the wrong spot when I went to cut.  I liked how it turned out so I didn't recut it.

For the journal spot I was originally going to use "bloom" in the center of it but decided to leave it for a journal spot instead.

Thanks for stopping by.

Altered Notebook

I just finished this altered notebook for my Sister. I'm meeting her in June in Wyoming for a Quilting Camp and this will be a surprise for her.

The Prima paper and chipboard flower branch and butterfly came in my Scrapbook Heaven kit. I used a couple of different glimmer mists on the flower branch and the Rock candy distress Crackle paint which doesn't show up in the picture. For the small butterfly under the saying I used the Stamp and Write marker and Ultra Thick embossing powder.

I stamped my butterflies twice onto cream colored cardstock with distress ink. A trick to keep the distress ink from smearing is to use clear embossing ink on your stamp then use the distress ink. I used pop up dots to raise the butterflies up.
A few left over rhinestones accent the leaves on the pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by.
