Teapot - Challenge #38

The challenge this week at My Scrap Room is to make a Teapot with a tag and photo frame.

I used Elegant Edges to cut my photo mat and the "tea bag" tags.  I had to use foam tape to attach my teapot pieces together because my trim was thick.

I did not add a photo mat to the back of the tea pot. I did add some leftover rhinestones to the side.

Thanks for stopping by.

On Eagle's Wings

Today I'm the designer for Card A Day Blog and the theme this week is With Faith.  I knew I wanted to use this stamp set On Eagle's Wings for today's card.

I used Cricut Design Studio to size my card front as I want it to fit into a regular size envelope.  After cutting the shape out I stamped the eagle with clear resist ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then used Vintage Photo around the edges and around the eagle.  After everything was dry I wrapped the ribbon around the card front and attached to my card base.  I used a few pearls on the bottom of the sentiment.

Here's a close up of the clear embossing.  Don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see what Terri Wright has to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Blooms

My African Violets and Orchids are in bloom and are an extra spot of sunshine on these cold and snowy winter days.  I used a picture of the African Violets for the ScrapBookClasses layout challenge which was to use this sketch and we could make it any size we wanted. We had until January 31st to send in our entry of something new.

I changed the background just a bit by cutting off a 1/4" all the way around and layering the polka dot paper onto dark brown cardstock. "Remember you can click on any photo to make it larger".

I used the Cricut to cut most of the elements on this page.  After getting it all put together I realized I had not inked anything as I was planning to do.

Here is a close up of one of the flower clusters.  The Prima No 5  forever flowers remind me of the violets so I added the yellow beads with some glossy accents.

I cut the tag out of green cardstock and vellum, embossed the vellum with the Flower Garden embossing folder then layered "winter" on top.

The "blooms" banner is cut from vellum and the background is from the purple cardstock.  I glued the top of the pieces together then covered it up with the sheer ribbon which is one piece of ribbon knotted between.  The banner is on foam tape.

I hand cut the journaling block after stamping it then corner punched it. I like how the Prima flowers resemble my Violets in the picture.

Snow Day

I made this layout for a challenge at ScrapBookClasses, a group on Yahoo.  We were required to use this Sketch from Page Maps.

I'm still in winter mode even though we do not have any snow remaining.

I used Design Studio to both design the layout and do a little bit welding.  I wanted to use the bracket from the Elegant Edges cartridge so I welded that to a rectangle from George to create the upper background photo mat.  I just didn't want to do scallops.

I did ink all the edges with either Sea Lavender or Dark Blue except for the snowflake and the white part of the sled.  I really like how the Sea Lavender ink looks on the kraft and brown cardstock.

I used the sled from the Joys of the Season cartridge for the journal spot, and just love how this turned out.
