Wedding Congratulations

I needed a card to send to a special couple that recently got married and I just love the way it turned out.

I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the image of couple - they are button 45 on the key pad.  I welded and flipped them to my card base using the shadow feature then cut them out in black cardstock.  I cut another image out in white cardstock using the shadow feature.  Then I  cut the image out in black cardstock.  For the front of the card I cut a piece of white cardstock out at 4" x 3 3/4" and embossed with the Textile embossing folder.  I wrapped my ribbon around the embossed cardstock, glued this to the card front then layered the white shadow couple and the black image using pop up dots to attach it. Congratulations was stamped on the white cardstock and matted onto black cardstock.

For the left inside of the card I cut a piece of cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and embossed it.  I had to match up my embossing and run it through the Cuttlebug twice to get everything embossed nicely. I wrapped another piece of ribbon around my white cardstock. I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock, puched it out then layered onto black cardstock and used more pop up dots.

On the left side of my card I used the decorative swirl and stamped it onto a piece of cardstock 4" x 3 1/4".  This is where I'll write my note to the happy couple.  I used the same decorative swirl on the front of my envelope to jazz it up a little.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Tim's Tag - Day 1

Since I'm feeling better I started looking at Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas and I just can't resist. I thought I could just look at them and say next year but that just isn't happening. So here's my take on Tim's Day 1.

I used my Cricut and several cartridges to make this tag and will have a list at the bottom of the post.  I cut the tag out of kraft cardstock and used Desert Turquoise Acrylic Paint to paint my tag, and embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder.  I forgot to distress the tag by sanding - 1 step skipped.  I used the Snowflakes embossing folder, the Xyron on the "Noel"

Entered in the Insiration Journal.

Mr. and Mrs.

We have a wedding to go to on Saturday and this is card I made for the new couple. I am also going to make this card for my Monthly Card Swap.

I cut my blue accent paper 3.75 x 2.5 and pressed it onto my stamp so that I could see where it was going and to make sure I had most of the image on the paper. I then used clear embossing powder on it to give and added texture. This piece was glued onto the white embossed cardstock and the ribbon was wrapped around it.

I made the bow separate and used a glue dot to attach it to the ribbon. It's a simple but elegant card and can be made using any brides colors.

Thanks for stopping by. Click here for the cut file.
