Travlers Notebook - January and February Catching up

I finally broke down and ordered a couple of Traveler Notebooks after checking out TN Time with Lisa and Lori!! You can do one of them or both each month.  I have been saving my scraps from my monthly Counterfeit Kit Challenge each month so that I could go back and complete each months challenge.

Art and Grace

I pulled this photo of Art and Grace out of the stack of photo my older sister sent me. It's another picture that was taken at the ranch and again I don't know when it was taken maybe sometime in the 70's. I pulled the papers from my Page Set One from my Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Kit - So Exciting.

I love the vintage feel of the papers with this picture.

I used the paper with the floral motif in the corner, the partial off white with the writing on it and I cut the flowers out of the motif paper making sure I could use the word Memories. The paper with the floral motif in the corner was not in the best of shape so I cut it down and distressed the edges.  I rolled the paper back the right corner and tucked one of the fussy cut flower pieces under the back of the roll and the front of the paper. This paper is single sided so I glues a piece of the off white with the writing on it to the back side of my floral paper and matted onto green card.  It was a bit fiddley but I really like the way it turned out.

The top right side is where I used the "Memories" from the flower motif paper along with one of floral wreaths and a scrap from the same paper and a tag put to extend the size of it . I added one of the paper clips with the "memories".

At the bottom right side I tore the corner and side so that floral piece would fit and added another scrap from the page set to put behind the flowers.

I added one of the flower motifs at the top and a few at the bottom right o the picture. A few circles of thread  to finish off three of my clusters.

My journaling is on the back of this layout and reads "I'm not sure when this picture was taken at the ranch, sometime in the 1970's,  but it really brings back the memories. Art and Grace were my second set of parents, they made every basketball, cheerleading, choir and any other event Pam and I was in. They even drove to Wyoming through a blizzard to attend college graduation. Such wonderful people.".

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Today I have a treat box I made and a couple of Valentine Cards. I pulled a couple of sheet from my February Counterfeit Kit Challenge - So Exciting kit. The treat box is a cut file from My Scrap Chick. I cut the top of the box out of the white cardstock from Paper Studio and the bottom of the box is from DCWV's Old World Stack. Just love the embossed white paper.

The cards are using the One Canoe Two - Creekside 6x6 paper pad I included in my kit. I stamped the images then colored them in with colored pencils, die cut them and layered onto my cardstock.

Guy Card:
I stamped on the textured side of the cardstock by accident, then just went with it as I didn't feel like re - stamping on the smooth side.

I wasn't sure how the one on the pink cardstock would turn out but I really like it.

Snow Bird

I'm using my February Counterfeit Kit  - So Exciting page set two and the winter birds I fussy cut. I think we are getting all of our snow for the year now. We hardly had any in December but the end of January and February we have been dumped on.

DH was filling the bird bath for me in between snowstorms and snapped the picture. I love how the snow piles up to the top of the water. I  put a couple of rocks in the bath so the butterflies have a place to land in the summer, but the chickadees like to hop from the sides to the rock when they drink so I keep them there in the winter.

New Butterfly House

Our Challenge number One at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog is to use lots of embellishments.  In my CKC kit - So Exciting I had a couple of printable butterfly cards from Handmade Home which I fussy cut out for my layout. I used my second page set for my background paper. I trimmed it down and added rust colored cardstock.

I found a couple of rub on scroll corners and a couple of circle dots that I sprinkled around the page. Then I pulled out my Tim Holtz Fanciful Flight die (I found it cleaning) and used some scrap pattern paper to fill the wings.

I really like how the rub on corners are containing the butterflies on the page and the dotted circles add just a bit more movement.

My journaling is on the back - "I requested a butterfly house for Mother's Day. They got me this awesome butterfly house and a bug house. I'm not sure I had any visitors last summer but It is there for them."

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - So Exciting

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Hop. This is a long post with a lot of photos. You should have arrived from our Gest Designer Kim Ferguson's Facebook page, (I have the whole hop listed below).  Our inspiration kit this month is a little bit different - it is a range of Kaisercraft products. It is the Anthology collection and can be found here. Once again we have an Unboxing Video this time from Alicia Macnamara.

Anthology Sticker Sheet

Anthology Stamps

As you can see it is a lovely kit, lots of distressed  and nature papers, nature elements in both the die cuts and the sticker sheets.

So I'm going to display my kit a little bit differently. I have it pulled out into four different groups, kind of like page kits but larger. Here is my February Counterfeit Kit - So Exciting

First up is Me and My Big Ideas Scrappychic Vintage page making kit left overs.

I've a few 12x12 sheet and paper scraps most of the stickers, some ribbon from the original kit. To this kit I've added the fun foam hearts, wooden button, mini clothes pins, and metal keys.

My second Page set if from Colorbok. Below is what the paper pad looks like.

I thought that the flower silhouettes went well with the inspiration kit.

I have most of the die cuts and stickers from this set along with most of the Alphabet punch out and stickers which I'm hoping I can use on throughout my kit.

Page Kit three is in two parts the paper and then the embellishments. I'll start with the papers first.

I started with Bo Bunny Back to Backs "Gabrielle Fight";  Pink Paisley -Butterfly Garden " Botanical Gardens", "Nature Sanctuary", "Dew Drops", "Dragonflies", "Butterfly wings",  DVWV - Old World Stack, unknown paisley and woodgrain; the Paper Studio - Blanc Boutique - 2 sheets; and three sheets from Tim Holtz idea-ology Memoranda.

Now for the embellishments, I think I've included a little bit of everything.
Die cut feathers in paper and foam, printable birdies in winter gear, jute, fussy cuts of labels, tags and journaling spots, Heidi Swapp Watercolor Words, Momenta Wood elements "So Fun", Prima Flowers  Eva Evita Butterflies, Teresa Collins Labels and Journaling stickers; wooden and chipboard butterflies, DIY Hummingbird and tag;

Page Kit four is basically a card kit with a  6x6 paper and some journaling cards for my layouts.

I love stamps and I'm trying really hard to not overwhelm myself with stamps this month so I've included two sets only!!  The first is from Unity Stamp Company - Best Life Offers that has four different sized leaves and the second is the Stories by the Month February 2018. I've got 10 little rolls of Washi Tape,  6x6 paper pad from One Canoe Two - Creekside, pocket cards from Amy Tangerine "Stitched" and Stories by the Month February 2018, foam die cut feathers, sheer ribbon, Nuvo drops, and a Wink of Stella pen.

You next top on the stop is Tina.
