Family Layout

Here's another quick layout.  As I was cleaning off my desk I came across these Scrapbook Heaven decorative elements.  I was planning on using them on another project but didn't and hadn't put them away and thought they would make a couple of great 8x8 pages.  All of the elements are on pop up dots, so that photos can be slide behind.

I really like the way the 4x6 page turned out.  I have the cutting instructions below and did not make up a Design Studio file.

3 more layouts.

Here's a few more pages using up some leftover decorative elements from a Scrapbook Heaven Kit.
One the first page I used a buckle on the side with some ribbon and a couple of blue flowers.

I stamped along the side of the second page and used the tag on the bottom corner.

For the third page I used another buckle on the bottom of the page.  The top corner decorations is from the inside of the buckle with a small pink and white flower in the center.

Always take time . . .

In one of my Kits from Scrapbook Heaven came the paper from Bella Blvd - Flirty - Bits a Bella , which had this saying on it "Always take time to play every single day!"  I knew I had to use that saying on a layout of my oldest son and Izzy.  She adores him, will do anything he asks, and he is her favorite person.

To start with I made my own white acrylic paint mist - a little bit of white acrylic paint and water added to a small spray bottle.  I sprayed this onto the Kraft paper and used my heat gun to speed up the drying process.  I have the cutting directions listed below.

I made my own filmstrip in Adobe Photoshop, inserted and sized my pictures and printed them out on 8 1/2x11 photo paper after changing them to black and white.

I made the same layout for my album but I used alphabet stickers for the saying.  My Kraft journal strip cut at 1 1/2x 12

Thanks for stopping by.

Recipe Book Part 3

Here is part three of the Recipe Book Album. I'm using an Album from Pink Paislee and the papers are from October Afternoon Modern Homemaker line and Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess. This came as a kit from Scrapbook Heaven.

If you missed part one click here.
If you missed part two click here.

The striped paper is the back Canning Jar paper. I used Party Line for the front of divider for Drinks. I did not add any cut outs to this divider.

The back of Party line is the yellow and I used Snickerdoodles for the front of the divider for Desserts.

I used a bunch of scraps from other projects to make the dividers on the recipe pages.

There are enough letters from The Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type to spell out all my labels for the dividers.

Thanks for stopping by

Recipe Book - Part 2

Here is the next two dividers in this mini album. I did Entrees and Bread as my label for the dividers. If you missed Part 1 click here to go to that post.

The right side is the back of the Cherry Pie paper. For the entree divider I used the Needle & Thread paper. The spoon and fork are cut from Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess paper.

I used Canning Jar to cover the back of the Entrees divider and Flour Sack for the Bread Divider. The cutouts are again from Graphic 45's Domestic Goddess paper.
I again used some scrap paper to embellish above the recipe cards
The food labels are cut from Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess Collection Farmers Market paper.

Altered Notebook

I just finished this altered notebook for my Sister. I'm meeting her in June in Wyoming for a Quilting Camp and this will be a surprise for her.

The Prima paper and chipboard flower branch and butterfly came in my Scrapbook Heaven kit. I used a couple of different glimmer mists on the flower branch and the Rock candy distress Crackle paint which doesn't show up in the picture. For the small butterfly under the saying I used the Stamp and Write marker and Ultra Thick embossing powder.

I stamped my butterflies twice onto cream colored cardstock with distress ink. A trick to keep the distress ink from smearing is to use clear embossing ink on your stamp then use the distress ink. I used pop up dots to raise the butterflies up.
A few left over rhinestones accent the leaves on the pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by.

Recipe:
Paper: Prima - Annalee Collection "Avondale" and Chipboard pieces are from a Scrapbook Heaven Kit
Ink: Versa mark embossing ink; Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet, Rusty Hinge, Bundled Sage;
Stampin' Up - Stamp and Write Markers - Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride
Stamps: Unity Kit of the Month - Just you (March 2011); Stampin' Up - Bliss
Glimmer Mist: Antique Brass, Kiwi, Jazz Blue
Misc: Distress Crackle Paint - Clear Rock Candy, Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, ribbon, rhinestones,

Calendar Mini Album - Part Two

Here is part two of the Calendar Mini Album. I did not use my Cricut for this project. It was a challenge for me to use product I don't normally use in my scrapbooking - rub ons, journaling spots, stickers and chipboard pieces.

I just love the pom pom trim under the calendar. I used three different punches and added a rub on to each one.

I added the "Family" rub on and used the ticket corner punch, then cut around the top of "Family, and add a few red rhinestones to finish the page. I used pop up dots on this so that picture can slide behind this.

A couple of tags with rub ons, prima flowers and rhinestones in the middle for the June page.

This prima flower was already colored and I thought it went well with this page. I have it on top of the Decorative Label punch. Happiness is a rub on and I just cut around it then used pop up dots to layer it onto the Curly Label punch. Both of the punches are glued to the top of the Garden Trellis punch so that pictures can slide behind.

For July I used the decorative tape on the bottom of the tag punch, and rub ons on the other punches. The glittered square paper clip was part of one of the kits. I layered a striped ribbon on top of the velvet ribbons.

Page two for July I kind of went tag crazy and they are on layered on top of a border with the arch lattice punch behind. The sheer ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Recipe: (This is just a few of the supplies I used on this project. Most of the supplies came from the Scrapbook Heaven Monthly Kits - includes rub ons, buttons, ribbon, labels)

Paper: Scrapbook Heaven Kits, Cardstock - DCWV
Punches: Stampin' Up - Extra Large Decorative Punch, Curly Label, Large Tag punch, ticket corner punch, Extra Large Scallop punch; Martha Stewart - Arch Lattice punch, Garden Trellis punch,

Calendar Mini Album Part One

I had picked up a desk photo album and decided to turn it into a mini calendar album that will go onto my desk. The photo sleeves will hold a 4x6 photo with a little room at the top so that I do not have to punch holes in the pictures.

The paper is from Scrapbook Heaven Kits that was left over from other projects. I also used my punches to add interest to the pages along with various rub ons. I tried to keep the embellishments flat so that the pages would fit into the sleeves.

I have a hard time using rub ons and stickers on what I make. For this project I forced my self to use them on most if not all the pages. The flowers on this paper reminded me of snowflakes and here in Minnesota we get a lot of snow in January.

I used the curly label punch with a rub on and a chipboard piece to accent the back of the page. Both pieces are only glued at the bottom of the page so that the photo can slide behind them. I added a few red button to bring the red over from the prior page.

For February I had to used these little birds. They were part of a border strip that I cut apart. I added a journaling spot, the "love" rub on and was punched it with a circle punch.

I had some of these left over rhinestone flowers and they worked perfectly on the punched circle. The lace trim is glued on a piece of white cardstock and the edges are only attached to the pattern paper.

The journaling spot has a rub on it and don't you just love the mini prima flowers. I don't use enough of the flowers that come with the Scrapbook Heaven kits so I have a large stash of them . I find it hard to use them with the amount of guy pages I do.

"The sweetest things in life..." was a rub on I just added to a strip of cardstock. I added a small rub on to the blue punched paper.

This project was a challenge for me in many ways. I didn't use my Cricut on any of the pages and I used product I normaly don't use in my scrapbooking such as the rub one, journaling spots and stickers. Thanks for stopping by.

Recipe: (This is just a few of the supplies I used on this project. I will add more as I post each week).
Paper: Scrapbook Heaven Kits - includes rubons, buttons, ribbon, labels; Cardstock - DCWV
Punches: Stampin; Up - Extra Large Decorative Punch, Curley Label
Misc: adhesive, pop up dots, buttons.

Carousal Mini Album Part 2

I have a few more pages to show you from the Carousal Mini Album.

On some of the pages I did not add my journaling spots as there was some paper paper with lines on it that works beautifully for journaling.

The lace is from my stash and was a scrap piece that was left over from another project. I was able to use up some of my scraps by adding a little bit to the edge or bottom of the pages.

To line my journaling spots I used template for journaling and just lined it where I wanted the lines to be and then used a matching ink pen for the lines . It was much faster than using a ruler and measuring the lines out.

These rhinestones were ones I had in my stash but went well with the kit.

Thanks for stopping by. Click here for file of the journaling spots I used. My file is set for 12x12 cutting but you can rearrange the spots for using 6x12 mat.

Recipe:

Scrapbook Heaven Kit, DCWV cardstock - white, green, red, blue; Pattern paper for accents - scraps from my stash

Punches: Ek Success - Wrought Iron Corner Punch; Martha Steward Artch Lattice, Unknown flower punch.

Cricut Catridges: Accent Essential, George, Going Places, Graphically Speaking, Joys of the Season, Indie Art, Mini Monomgrams

Misc: Rhinestones, ribbon, adhesive.

Carousal Mini Album

The Carousal Mini Album was a kit from Scrapbook Heaven. It came with all the cardstock, pattern papers, flowers, buttons, rhinestones, pearl and ribbon needed to make it. I added a few fun journaling spots cut with my Cricut and then lined with a pen. All of the journaling spots were cut from white paper.

I made so many pages that I had to replace the wire rings that came with the kit for larger ones.
I used this a the cover for the album. The flower is one that came in the kit. I used a corner punch to make the border by taking the guard off and punching along a straight edge.

Here is pages two and three. I did use the distress ink to ink most of the pages and used foam tape to pop the scalloped paper away from the background so that a pocket was formed. I just love the left flower on page three. I have it on top a punched flower. The journaling spot is from Going Places cartridge.

Page four has another journaling spot from the Going Places cartridge. Page five has the Pom Pom trim on the right side and velvet trim on the top and bottom of the page.

I just love the butterfly paper from page 6 and that was a scrap from Garden Party stack. For page 7 I stacked a couple of the flowers and added a brown pearl to the center. The Heart journaling spot is cut from Indie Art

Page eight has a journaling spot that is removable and page nine I left plain as I just could not cover up that paper.

Here is page eight with the journaling spot next to the page. I tried to alternate the pattern paper with the journaling spot and cardstock pages.
The kit came with plain cardstock to sandwich between the pages instead of cardboard. I used modge podge to glue the pages to the cardstock. I also tried to alternate my bulky elements so that I didn't have them on facing pages in the same spot. I made over 40 mini pages for this album so it is quite large.

Thanks for stopping by.
I'll have the file for the journaling spots posted on next weeks post.

Mini Album Wednesday - Family Part Five

This is the last segment of the Family Album and it's a long post.

On page 11 I used the Scallop Trim Punch on the top and bottom of the photo mat and then inked the edges with Versa Magic Ink. I used another rub on for the accent in the center and all the labels are on buttons so that the pictures can slide behind them.

This is what Page 12 looks like all put together. I did another layered page and there is a second photo mat and large tag that fits behind the top photo mat. The striped trim at the top and bottom of the page is from a Scrapbook Heaven Kit.

This is what the page looks like with the extra photo mat and tag taken out from behind. I used the same background cardstock for the main mats that are punched with the Daisy Fan punch and there is a green rhinestone in the center of each fan. The label at the bottom of the page is mounted onto foam tape so that the pictures can slide behind.

This is the front and back of the removable photo mat and tag. The plain photo mat is the reverse side of the pattern photo mat.

I used the Pinking Hearts corner punch and punched the corners of the double photo mats then inked the edges in red.

The last page the photo mat is mounted onto two different papers. The scalloped oval is really a dark purple and is onto of a button on the velvet trim which is from a Scrapbook Heaven kit.

Mini Album Wednesday - Family Part Two

Today is Part Two of the Family Mini Album and I'm showing pages two, three and four.

I had already cut out this tree border for another project and didn't use it, but it works wonderfully on this page. I just trimmed it down to the size I wanted and used foam tape behind it so that the picture can slide behind the tree. I rounded the edges of the photo mat and inked a modern label punch and added a couple of rhinestones to finish off the page.
For page three the photo mats are from the Sunburn stack and I used Stampin' Up Pinking Hearts corner punch to spice them up a bit. I used the Stampin' Up Extra Large Decorative Label and the Modern label with a couple of rhinestones to finish off the page.

Now page four was a little bit harder. With the red cardstock I made a pocket page so that I can slide another photo mat into the pocket. I then used the Martha Stewart Birds on a wire punch to accent the edge of the pocket. On the blue and white photo mats I used the ticket corner punch. The bird accent on the photo mat is the Stampin' Up Two Step Bird punch. I like that you can place the wing where you want on the bird. Then I used the large tag punch and matted it onto green paper.

For the Pocket photo mat I made it the same as the photo mat on the front just a little bit smaller. The blue and white cardstock is punched with the ticket corner punch and added the bird accent. Both the front and back of the Pocket Photo mat is decorated the same.

If you a question about a certain page just leave a comment and I'll get back to you. Thanks for stopping by.
