Happy Birthday Layout

I used the leftover pieces from the Birthday card I created last week and one of May's Page Maps sketches from May for a birthday layout.

I really liked the bird element on the sketch so I punched the bird out of yellow cardstock and left off the strips of paper, it just didn't look right with my 8 1/2x11 layout.

I did ink all the edges and wrapped twine around the photo mats. I have another 12x12 sheet of the Honeycomb yellow paper and a few scraps of the Echo Park - Capture LIfe "Love Script" paper that I can do a pocket page or another 8 1/2x11 Layout.

Coupn Good For . . . Layout

I based my layout on the Let's Get Sketchy Sketch

and Mood Board.

Most of the colors of the Mood Board are in my Jen Hadfield Patio Party flower paper. Which was also perfect for the tag my eldest asked me make They had just found out the news and were on their way to Katie's parents to let them know.

I left the journaling off so that they can do their own.

I used the leftover pieces from the previous two layouts for a layout for my youngest.

I had all the papers glued down before I realized that I didn't mist his page.

You're Never More than a Thought away - cards

When I was making my Forgeries for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge I had a few stamped flowers that were partial flowers, I find that these make great pieces for tucking.  I used the stamp from Autumn Leaves which is the large flower on the top for this set of cards. They were stamped on scraps from the  Fancy Pants 6x6 "Office Suite" and cut then out.

I'm using Sketch #314 from Hand Stamped Sentiments for today's cards

I layered a full flower with a couple of the partial flowers then added a couple of die cut leaves and sequins for the flower centers.

I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock then punched it out to add to the card front I had my flowers glued down when I realized that I didn't have my sentiment down.

I stamped the flower onto the envelopes and thought I was using a yellow embossing powder but it's a yellow gold.

Happy Birthday Card

My youngest has his birthday next week so I had to hurry up and make a card. I actually though I had one more week before I had to do this and didn't even remember it while I was putting my Counterfeit Kit together. I could have used the additional kit that I made up for iNSD but decided against it when I found out the Archir -scraps challenge this month is based on this picture

and to use Black, White and Yellow plus a Clock.  I have the yellow Recollection paper in my CKC - Adventure Awaits so I pulled out the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock Die and the Close to My Heart Say It in Style stamp set for my sentiment.

I used a left over piece from my layouts for the background and matted it onto black cardstock. I cut the die out of the black cardstock then glued it to the front of the card.
Using some a piece of black cardstock I cut more of the clock for the envelope. The Happy Birthday is stamped onto white cardstock and I used foam tape to pop it up.

I had a little bit of the clock face left so I used it on the inside of the card.

I have a whole sheet of the yellow Recollections paper left and I think I'll make a birthday page for him using it and more clock faces.

Grandma's Crochet

I pulled out my May Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit - Adventure Awaits for my layout. This is for Challenge Number #1 using this sketch.

I visited the Designers Gallery for some inspiration. I love the script as the background paper with the bright pops of yellow that Dorymay had on her layout.  I had finished the row of crochet on this piece that my Grandma Kate had started and decided to use it on the pub table in my kitchen. It was one of her last pieces and I just couldn't throw it away or pull it apart.

I trimmed down my script paper so that the black background was showing. I brought in a third sheet of word paper as I only had two of the "Love Script". I replaced the circle element with a square doily and used some square rhinestones instead of the paperclip in the top left. I inked all the edges of the papers and the gray photo mats with distress ink in black soot.

The above layout is for my eldest and I used the Tim Holtz label letters for Great and Kate. I was happy to find that I had enough of the gold letters for all three layouts. I was planning on using my dies for the title but this was a happy accident.  I had two of my DIY - Sequin and Glitter leaves left from a previous forgery so they went onto the guy's layouts.

I used a sheet ribbon so the crocheted item would still be the highlight. The left over ribbon from the bows is used under the yellow paper at the bottom right like the sketch shows.

Forgeries on Fourth - well the Third this month

The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Forgeries are a day early this month due to International Scrapbook day being on the fourth.
I pulled out the 6x6 Office Suite paper pad to make my forgeries this month.  I'll start with the Papertrey Ink Stamps Happy Camper and Heart 2 Heart along with the dies. Our Inspiration Kit from My Creative Scrapbook has some cute campers as embellishments and I had this stamp and die set that I picked up to make my own. I die cut several of them out of white cardstock and colored cardstock from the 6x6 paper pad then a set out of scraps of orange, yellow, green and kraft cardstock. I then stamped the images with color box ink. The little campers turned out so cute and will make great embellishments on my layouts. I also did a camping scene and am unsure if I will use it as a card or and embellishment.

I also included an Autumn Leaves flower stamp which is the large flower on the top then I added two stamp sets from Unity Stamp Co - Kit of the Month June 2013 "Love the Little Things" and July 2014 "Beautiful - Inside and Out". I stamped them on a piece of scrap paper then layered  the different colors of papers from the 6x6 pad and cut them out. I will probably go back and re - stamp the multi colored flower in the pink as it looks just to busy for me.

I did stamp the same images and used colored pencils to color in a few of them

I turned the other image into a quick card using Freshly Made Sketches 386.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop back on the Fourth for International Scrapbook Day.
