Thank You

Here's my thank you card I needed to make.  I used image from Unity Stamps. I stamped her onto watercolor color paper and then embossed her. I colored her in with water color pencils and did not like the color of the earring so I dug out some old Tulip Paint and used that to cover up my earing colors.

I used Labels Thirty Six to cut the shaped card base then layer cardstock and twine underneath the image.

Meow, Purr, Baa - Thinking of You cards

I won the Meow, Purr, Baa stamp set from Unity Stamps a couple of weeks ago and decided that it was perfect for the Operation Write Home Sketch #258. I'm using my July Counterfeit Kit with the papers from The Paper Studio pack.

I stamped each image twice then colored with colored pencils and gamsol.

I hand cut the banners and varied the sizes, so I didn't follow the sketch exactly.

I was using up some scraps of cardstock.

I inked around the white mat just a little bit.

Then stamped and matted the sentiment.

All 8 cards are for Operation Write Home.  I want to make sure that everyone who does send cards to Operation Write Home their deadline for receiving them is August 1, 2015 and then they will be closing their doors.

Love Cards

I used my July Counterfeit Kit - Summer Morning to make a couple of cards for the Friends with Flair Challenge.

I had this already stamped but needed to color them in.

I had just a few scraps from the reds so I colored them both in to go with the scraps.

Thank you for everything

I did some assembly line card making for this set of cards.  I embossed part of the front of the card, then layered on the pattern papers. I used markers on the stamps instead of ink and matted it on black cardstock.

I did mat the inside of the cards with the border stripe and white cardstock.

The embossing shows up so much better here.

Thank You cards

I needed a couple of Thank You cards for your office party and this is what I came up with.

I started by stamping and coloring the feather and butterfly from the {happiness looks gorgeous } kit and cutting them out.  I used an Anna Griffin Embossing folder and Martha Stewart punch.  The butterfly is stamped twice then layered with a pop up dot between them.

I used the stamps from the {Always begin Again} KOTM for this card. It is matted onto a another piece of white cardstock.  I tucked a piece of green ribbon behind the Thank You sentiment.

Happy New Year

I was putting away my January Counterfeit Kit Challenge getting ready for the February one to come in and decided to make another set with stamped frames. I followed my previous layout Merry Christmas Get Together to make this Happy New Year layout for my guys.

I used a different stamp from the Extreme Elements set on their layouts and like the larger splotch of pink that is showing.

I also use the scalloped frame on the left instead of the butterfly frame, but kept the colors the same as the first layout.

I pulled out a couple more Unity Kit of the Months to get the sentiments. I'm entering this into the Unity Stamps Friends with Flair challenge.

Counterfeit Kit Review: January Renew Kit
I kept my January kit on the small side this time as I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time to scrap, I wound up having to add more paper to it to get a few more layouts done. I didn't use all the embellishments I pulled out and never touched a few of the stamps set,  I added the new Type Strips and numbers stamps and die to do a couple of layouts.  I also made a mini last minute mini album.

Thanks for stopping by.

Calendar and Address Book

So this is the first project I made with my October Counterfeit Kit and it's not a scrapbook page but an Address and Date binder for my youngest.  Since he's no longer at home (Yea!) he needs a way to keep track of birthday's and anniversary's and an address book instead of asking mom.

I cut down a piece of the DCWV Heirloom stack paper then backed it on a kraft cardstock for the front of the binder.  I rounded two of the corners to mimic the binder.

I used the Cosmo Cricket paper from my October Counterfeit Kit (the back side) for the front of the Dates Divider. I have a perpetual calendar in there for him to keep track of birthday's and anniversary's.

I stamped, colored, and cut out the cake.  Then added a few cheery colored paper but tried to keep it not girly looking.  I added a stamped and cut out banner to the top corner of my cluster.

For the address section I used the  Girls Paperie paper for the main page. I added the labels on the side of the dividers after both were made and put into the binder to get my placement.

I again stamped, colored and cut out the image.  I layered everything up and added the last of the blue twine. I added a mini paper clip to the paper coming out of the typewriter a few of the square rhinestones a the bottom of the cluster.

One of the sheets in the Heirloom Stack is a page with words on it and I cut the "friends" strip out then added it to the paper with the number.

Last time he was home I had him raid my stash of cards and tags for him to take back with him.  He now has his own supply and his own list and address to send them out.  I also sent him a

Girl Tags.

I pulled out the other two "girl" stamps that came in my Kit of the Month and decided to make a couple more tags with them since I like the last one so much. You can find the last one tag here.

I again started by stamping onto watercolor paper and using water color pencils to color her in.  I'm using the same background paper on each tag but using different ribbons, lace and embellishments. I like how the doily was on the first tag so I'm going to keep that element on these.

I tied off each of the ribbons and left enough so that I can add a charm when I give them away.

May Kit of the Month 2014 { Hey Girl} Tag:

I stamped on watercolor paper and used watercolor pencils to color the image in.  After everything was dry I cut her out.

I again kept the back pretty simple so that I can add my sentiment later when I know who and what I'm going to use the tags for.

Chick Card

I've had this little piece of chick ribbon in my scrap ribbon jar forever.  I would work on a card and pull it out then wind up not using it and put it back.  Well today is the day that I get to use it.  I pared it up with this chick stamp from Unity and a few pieces of left over paper.

I used the same technique on Wishing You Joy card to make the frame.

Welcome Spring

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me today from the Card A Day Blog.  This weeks theme is all about Spring cards.  What says spring more than the tulips coming up and butterflies. I am ready to see the snow gone and some green buds popping up!

For my card I'm using some of my March Counterfeit kit. I started with the tulip stamp by measuring my stamp and cutting my piece of cardstock down to size.  I then stamped the image and trimmed it down a little bit more. I punched a lighter shade of green from the Summer Dreams stack and added it to the bottom with a piece of ribbon on top. My stamped image is up on pop up dots to add a little bit more dimension.

The butterfly was punched and in my baggie of pre-punched items to add to cards and layouts, so I have no idea where the paper is from.  I embossed the butterflies with the polka dots folder to add some more dimension and added a couple of rhinestones to the center.

52 Christmas Card Challenge and Unity Friends with Flair

Happy Friday!  Well I missed the cut off time for the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown but I'm still in time for the Friends with Flair Challenge.  The challenge was a Recipe Challenge {Monochromatic. CAS. Ribbon and Rhinestone}. I'm not sure I have the CAS part down.

I started by embossing the white cardstock and trimming it down so that I am really close to where the embossing starts.  For my stamped images I cut my squares at 1 1/4" then stamped and attached to the inside of the embossed piece.

I left the inside plain and just inked around the edges.

'Tis the Season

The challenge at 52{Christmas} Card Throwdown is a sketch so I thought I would join in. I pulled out the Unity's October Kit of the Month {Oh Christmas Tree} to use one the sentiments.  The pattern paper is from a K&I Memories Kit and I'm sad to say I have a lot of it left - but I thought I would try to use it up on the Christmas Challenges, so here goes the first challenge.

I started with  a partial sheet of the blue background paper and the already cut polka dot and striped paper.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and punched it, then backed it with the same punch.  All of my edges are inked and I'm using a new ink pad so it's really juicy.

For the inside I added a white mat with a piece of  the background paper at the top.

Life is not measured by the breaths . . .

we take abut by the Moments that take our breath away.

I just love this stamp that was included in my kit of the month. I just stamped the sentiment and embossed with clear embossing powder, punched the corners and matted it onto black.  I'm using some scraps I have from the Summer Dreams Stack for my pattern papers on the card.

For the inside I kept it simple by adding strip to the top and bottom of the mat.

Keep Calm . . .

and Have a Beer:

I was one of the lucky winners a couple of weeks ago for the GIU and because of that I was able to pick out two Itty Bitty Stamp sets. I can tell you it's a hard choice.

My guys are big fans of "The Chive" so I had to pick this stamp.  I did a bunch of techniques on this tag, then started making my layers.

I stamped the beer mug and backed it with a scrap piece of cardstock.  The quote is stamped onto vellum, cut out and glued to the beer mug.

I added some stenciling and clear embossing, then the tissue tape and finally some Tim Holtz metal.  I added the pearls to the top of the card.

Give Thanks

Hi everyone, I've got another Thanksgiving card for you, well actually two, I've just used different stamps for the focal point.

I layered a scallop border under the bottom pattern paper and the top. I stamped my image once then moved it down and to the left a little bit and stamped again.

I didn't have a punch the correct size for the "give Thanks" so I used the Designer Label punch.  After the first punch I used a post it not to hold the shape and lined up the circle to finish it.

I used a different image for this card.  I just adjusted the size of my papers to fit my stamp.

to my Love

Hi All!  I've a couple of Valentine Cards here.  I decided to pull out my Designer Frame embossing folder for these.  They make such cute little frames.  I stated by cutting out the inside and cutting around the fame.  I then stamped the flowers and framed them.

I hand cut the banners then stacked them up.  The sentiment is stamped then punched with the modern label punch.

Today is Friends with Flair and I didn't have a card made up so I pulled out a couple of stamps I have not used from my Unity kit.  I know it's from 2012 and I haven't used all the stamps in the set.  I just couldn't figure out what to use the mini mushrooms and flowers on.

More than the Moon and the Stars . . .

The Challenge at Scrap It Girl this month is Mini Album's.  (Please note that this post is photo heavy). I pulled out the Tim Holtz's Baroque Die and started cutting my chipboard and papers for my album.  My great niece and nephew are at that age that they say the cutest things.  This mini album is for those saying.

The album has a total of 6 pages including the front and back covers.  I left two pages blank incase she wants to put a large photo on the page.

I turned the little piece of film strip into a journal strip. The film strip is what was left over from a layout I did here.

Back cover of the mini album and the finished one is below with the rings.

When ever I stamp, use my dies, make a card or layout I keep my pieces - I'm using some of those pieces on this mini album.  If you have a question about something please let me know.
