Play Hard

If you are looking for Challenge #1 for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge please scroll down to the next post or click here.. The Challenge for September  at What's in the Bickie Tin?  is to use

  • Colours: Green and White
  • Add Splatter
  • Add a die-cut
I'm again using my Counterfeit Kit paper set #3 from my CKC September 2020 -Summertime Cheers for my layouts.

I'm using the Star die cut paper from K and  I Memories for my layout.

I trimmed down the start die cut to 4" (that way I have enough for the other layouts, added a bit of ribbon on the right side. The Play Hard is cut from Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge at 2 3/4" and backed with a piece of vellum. I used Stampin' Up Old Olive ink for the splatters.

For my eldest son I used ribbon on both sides of the star paper and a used the speckled paper from my kit.

On the 8 1/2 x 11 layout the Play Hard is cut at 2 1/2" and I trimmed down the star paper to 1 3/4".

Cards

I have a few cards I made from the images I stamped from my Counterfeit Kit Summertime Cheers. In with my forgeries I included these images.

Card #1: Hello Sweet friend -I used the image from the June 2017 Kit of the Month {time to enjoy life} and stamped the ice cream sundae’s and colored them in with markers. I just used some scrap paper for the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card. There are stickles on the white parts of the ice cream to add a little bling.

Card #2: Sending a BIG Hug – I stamped the larges fern leaf I had three times onto a piece of 5 ½ “x 4 ¼ “piece of cardstock.  Matted it onto green cardstock and added a sentiment. I used one the small fern leaf for the inside of the card.

Card #3: Heart Banner- This was stamped onto whitecardstock and die cut using a stitched rectangle die. The image is colored with markers to match the background paper.  I layered this onto black cardstock and pattern paper from Crate paper – good vibes and Pink fresh Everyday Musings 6x6 paper pads.

Card #4: This is a total copy of a card that Heather Hoffman made. Hers is a shaker card, click her to see it, mine is just a regular card. I just love the way it turned out and it’s my favorite so far. I used a scrap piece of cardstock behind the bird and a piece of vellum. I used distress ink for the splatters

Card #5: Miss You – I’m using the  mushroom stamp that I colored in with color pencils. I added a simple sentiment to the front of the card and the twine I included in my kit.

Card #6 I stamped the mushroom in a cup and colored in it in with colored pencils. I used a nesting oval die to cut the image and brown cardstock out.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Today on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog we display our forgeries. Just a reminder that our kit is from The Scraproom's Flavors of the Month August 2020 Kit.

I included in my kit this  month a ton of stamp sets and very little ephemera packs. I have plenty of stamps that I can make a few of the elements that were included in the Inspiration kit.

Kit #1 I stamped the Grill, Oven Mittens, Ice cubes and such. I have not colored in the drinks, ice cream cone or bottles yet. I have layouts planned for all three of them.

The grill was stamped twice with the Misty and colored in using markers then re stamped after coloring in. I have foam tape between the two pieces of the grill for dimension.  For the ice cubes I used gelatos to color.
The oven mittens were colored with colored pencils and I will be fussy cutting then out for my layout. I used markers for the Ice Cream sundae's  and a bit of Crystal Ice Stickles on the white parts of the ice cream and will be using that on a card.

My kit #4 is inspired by Simple Stories  - Simple Vintage Great Escape. With that kit I included these forgeries - ferns butterflies, a bird and mushrooms.

I stamped the fern leaves with three different colors of Stampin' Up Ink - Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive, then cut them out The butterflies were stamped and colored with markers then re stamped with black ink.  The mushrooms in a cup, bird on a branch and single mushroom  were colored with colored pencils. and now look like this

All three of these images are going to be used on cards.

I also stamped the largest fern for a card front.

These were stamped and included in my Embellishment kit. I an using the Heart Banner on a card front and the owl tag is going on a layout.
This journaling tag wit the owl was colored in with markers I'm not sure if I will be coloring the owl, but the sunglasses are the the color of my grandson's outfit that I am scrapping. The Heart Banner is going on a card front.

September 2020 Counterfeit Kit Reveal and Blog Hop - CKC September 2020 - Summertime Cheers

Welcome to the September 2020 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop (I have the full hop listed below).  Can you believe how fast the year is moving! Summer is almost over, schools are starting, leaves are changing here in Minnesota, the weather is great, the garden is producing, we are still grilling and enjoying the patio and deck.

With that said, I'm hosting this month at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and I picked The Scraproom August 2020 Flavors of the Month kit. I love  how I will be able to scrap all of this with just one kit and how I can combine the kits and make a layout using a little bit of all of them. It is like one giant kit or four small ones.

You can find the kit here and here is an unboxing video.

We will be joined by Misty Murphy this month. I have been following her on her You Tube Channel Crafty Soup Video https://www.youtube.com/user/CraftySoupVideo. You should have come here from her You Tube Channel, if not you can hop on over from above link.

Here is my September 2020 - Summertime Cheers

I've broken it down into the four kit like The Scraproom has. First up is the Flavors of the Month Kit #1 Doodle Bug Bar-B- Cute.  I put this together using the colors in from the inspiration kit and then added some of the stamped elements

I stamped a bunch of my elements for this kit, but I do have a red doily from the Dollar store and heart enamel dots.

Stamps I've used so far are: Unity Stamp Company KOTM - March 2017 {pretty darn amazing}, November 2012 {so into you},  August 2011 { what I know} July 2011 {better together}, June 2011 {all smiles} and May 2011 {think HAPPY thoughts}

Next is Flavors of the Month Kit #2 is Echo Park School Rules Collections.

Now I do not have school age kids or grandkids, both boys are out of college and my DIL is not teaching due to COVID-19 and Daycare issues.  But I can still use this some school items for my scrapbooking.

I have dark grey cardstock, Piggy Tales - Simple Simon Collection "Mother's pail" (2009), black cardstock, The Girls' Paperie - On Holiday "Days Away" (2010) front and back, yellow cardstock, white cardstock. Flavors of the Month Kit  #4 is Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Great Escape. I love the Dragon fly and Mushroom paper in the original kit.  For my kit I pulled inspiration from the "Time for Adventure" paper.

First is the remnants of a paper pad from Colorbok - Truffle.

I have one sheet of each of these papers left, some alphabet and  embellishments

I also have three sheets of Scenic Route Grafton Kraft "Spinner", "Surf Leaf" and "Surf Board" all from 2008. All three are large designs on the left side of the paper.

 With it I have included cardstock in green, blue red and white. I pulled out a couple of my stamps and stamped ferns, butterflies, a bird and mushrooms. The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company KOTM August 2020 {count your blessings}, June 2020 {change the world}, April 2020 {hope in uncertainty}, March 2017 pretty darn amazing} and August 2016 {open your soul}
