Counterfeit Kit Challenge - Sketch Challenge - Happy

 Today is the Sketch Challenge.

For this challenge I'm using page set #4.

I started by cutting all the cut a parts that was part of this page set. I was planning on using one of the houses but changed my mind as I was making the layout. I also did not use any of the embellishments I had pulled for this page set.

I did change the sketch up a bit. I have 4x4 photos instead of the 3 3/4x 3 3/4, I used a 3x5 journaling spot, instead of the date at the top of the right side it is on the bottom of my journaling.  I used a piece from the cut a parts where the date was. I did include a heart wood veneer and used ribbon instead of twine for my tag. I also roughed up the edges of the papers.  Since my pieces are bigger, I did not include the scallops as it was just too much.

Thanks for stopping by.

I took a couple of minutes while cleaning off my desk to create another card for Operation Write Home.  I had the Autumn Days stamp set out and combined it with this sketch from Operation Write Home.

To finish off the card I stamped the pine cone and branch on the inside.

OWH VCMP Challenge #7

Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is my card for Challenge #7, A Christmas card for a child and a Hero hosted by Scrapping with a Purpose.

For my card I'm using another sketch from Operation Write Home Sketch #102.  I'm using two different sizes of polka dot papers.  For the embossed strips I embossed the cardstock sized to fit my embossing folder then cut off the 1/4" strips.  I find it easier to emboss this way instead of trying to make the 1/4" strip straight in my embossing folder.  I used another Unity stamp and hand cut  around the outside of it.

OWH VCMP - Sketch #136

Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is my card for Sketch #136 on the Operation Write Home Blog.

When I have a scraps of cardstock or pattern paper left over from a project I pull out my dies and do a little bit of cutting, inking, and assembling if need be.  The birdies on this card are from my jar of birdies from scraps. The colors of the birds are the colors in the background paper.  I embossed my pattern paper then layered the tan cardstock and the birds on top.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out.

For the inside I stamped the bird from the October kit in the corner and added a strip of background paper to the left hand side of the mat.

OWH VCMP Challenge #5

Edited: I had originally posted that it was sketch challenge #5 and it should have been for Sketch Challenge #4

Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party this Labor Day weekend. Here is my card for Challenge #4, Western Cowboy or Horse Card Challenge hosted by Sandy's Crafty Creations.

For my card I'm using another Operation Write Home Sketch number 4.  I embossed my tan cardstock with the frame and cut it out.  I used post it notes to cover the outside of the frame and stamped my horse head on the inside of the frame.  I embossed a strip of white cardstock and rounded the corners of my background paper.

For the inside I stamped the running horse border twice across the bottom of the white mat and rounded the corners.
