Snowflake Layout

I used Christy's Beautiful Life 30 Days of Sketch's 2 Sketch #6 for this layout. I had a piece of unknown Christmas paper in my kit with Christmas words on it. It wasn't a 12x12 piece of paper so I layered it onto a piece of brown cardstock to get a 12x12 piece.

The doily is cut apart and layered behind the photo mat, I stamped both sizes of the snowflakes onto pattern paper, fussy cut them ad layered on top of the doily

I added little pieces of the doily at the bottom of the photo along with some of the ribbon.

I also made a couple of project life pages for them, since they split Christmas between us. I kept the pages simple so that they can add pictures and journaling later. I think my favorite if the other half of the doily on the 4x6 card.

I keep the bits and pieces as sI make my layouts to use onto Project life pages. After I'm done with my Kit then I can get rid of the those  bit.

Thanks for stopping by.

Iron Monuments

I'm using  Christy's Beautiful Life 30 Days of Sketch's 2 Sketch #4

I started with the Holiday Cheer "Plaid" paper for my background and pulled in a grid paper from Me & My Big ideas.  I stamped and cut my snowflake that I included in my kit, fussy cut them out and placed then at the top and bottom of the photos. My journaling is in the middle between the two pictures.  I cut a tag shape and stamped "the Details", the date and the snowflake. A little bit of twine finishes off the tag.

The journaling is the same on both layouts and reads: Our neighbors were in the process of adopting a puppy and they wanted to find the property lines before the fencing guy came out. John waved Dale down and asked if Doug could find them. John must have spent over an hour outside looking for them. Doug had them found in 30 minutes.

My son's layout was much easier to make for some reason. I cut the paper to 8 1/2x11 then layered the blue grid paper on top. All the banners I cut and drawn around with a gold and black marker.

For my oldest son's layout I switched it up a bit.

I used the snowflake paper as on top (another paper I've had around a while and love) and the snowflake wood veneers as accents. I had a little bit of pompom trim that went well with the olive in the layout so I added that to the bottom of the photo mats. Each mat has  it's own journaling spot.

Merry Christmas Tree

For this layout I'm using Christy's Beautiful Life 30 Days of Sketch's 2 Sketch #3

We receive a small Christmas Tree made out of holly, pine branches and other greenery. It was so pretty.

I started with the tan cardstock as I didn't have any cream colored to go with the snowflakes. I then measured and cut the Peppermint Twist and marked where the paper went on the cardstock so that I could add the splatters.

I did used the smooching technique as my sprays no longer spray. I double matted my photo on the red cardstock then on the pink swirl paper.  I cut out a couple of tags added my journaling to the blue on and added the embellishment clusters.

Love being Together

So I'm on sketch number 8 of the 30 Days of Sketches.  I'm plugging away and will eventually finish them but it won't all be in September. You can find Christy's pinterest board here.

Instead of the three photo's I used two on my page. I put the title on the side of the photo and embellished with some sea shells. I stamped the "Love being Together" and "life is better in flip flops" then used copper embossing powder.

For the guy's I just used their own picture. . .

and kept the embellishments the same.

Tank

I'm using sketch 6, you can find Christy's Pinterest board here.

I pulled 3 pictures of Tank and used the pearlized cardstock for my background. I did flip the sketch 180 so the one pattern paper is on the bottom. On my layout I added the buttons, the clipboard, house heart-2, sign post, and house die cuts. I printed my journaling then cut it out.

For the guy's layouts I added the stamped label at the top and bottom of the middle picture then added the heart, house and sign die cuts. the pennants are tied with gray embroidery yarn.

My youngest layout I cut and extra piece for the right side. I added buttons instead of pennants and kept the rest of the embellishments the same.

From my reject box I pulled the buttons, pennants, stamped journal spots, die cut circle, signs, hearts, houses and clip board top.

Thanks for stopping by.

Quiet Moment/Pit Stop

Day 7 of the 30 Days of Sketch used Creative Scrappers sketch # 260, you can find Christy's Pinterest board here.

I pulled out two sheets of the Lost and Found 3 paper that I included with my Counterfeit Kit for September and the Pearlized cardstock in the gray.  I started by matting my photos then building my base.

I know the sketch called for a big title and journaling underneath, but I had these 3x4 journaling cards that went well with the colors of the paper so I combined them. Each of the Clips marks the day of the week the photo was taken.

The coffee cup had an orange holder on it, I pulled it off and recut a blue one for this layout. Instead of using stitching I used some rub on that were strategically cut to make them longer.

From my reject box  I pulled more of the white die cut hearts and colored them in gold, orange die cut hearts, the wood veneer camers and people, gold sequins, punched glittered hearts, 3x4 journaling tag, Tim Holtz clips, flowers, buttons, rub on and the die cut coffee cup.

Thanks for stopping by.

Adventure

The sketch for day is Stuck Sketches February 15, 2015. You can find Christy's Pinterest board here. These layout were much easier to create. The Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1 this month is to "choose any one of the cards as inspiration - and create a layout, card, or ... well, anything, using one of the phrases as a prompt for your storytelling".

When we were down in San Antonio this past spring Dale and I dragged the kids to the River Walk and made them take the guided boat ride. In my box of reject I have three purple punch birds. Purple in the lights and purple in the birds and some of moms old vellum light blue and purple stickers.

I added a little bit more purple with some pattern paper. I cut apart the 7 gypsies paper to get the "adventure" and added it to the side.

The sketch has some little hearts in the three embellishment clusters. I thought my butterfly with the hearts was perfect for this.

My tag is blue as there was only 2 purple tags. I added the punched bird to the tag. I added the other butterfly in the top by the photo.

Since I have the bird on here - I need to find a bird stamp to incorporate it in here also. I haven't completed the guys' layouts as I'm not quite sold with my layout.

Life is Good

The sketch for day is Stuck Sketches May 15, 2015. You can find Christy's Pinterest board here. These layout were much easier to create.

I started this layout with the 6x6 paper pad from 7 gypsies. One of the sheets had the "Life is Good" on it and I thought it perfectly described my photo. I cut it out distressed the edges and inked the edges. I die cut a bunch of circles out of vellum and tan cardstock, then started layering my papers.

I pulled out the lace, glittered wood clips (I had one my box - so I went looking for two more) and the labels.

For my youngest page I just cut the pictures a little smaller and fussy cut the Amy Tangerine word strip paper so that "happy" shows at the top.

All of my edges are inked with block soot distress ink. The banner paper is from the backside of the "life is good"

Boston Trip

Christy's Sketch #3 uses Struck Sketches, January 15, 2016. Christy's Pinterest board can be found here. When I saw this sketch I thought I would be able to whip this one out in no time at all.

In reality it took me forever. I couldn't get my pictures to print correctly, then I didn't like the how the paper was behind the photos. But my final layout I love!

I started with my pictures and trimmed them down to 3 1/8 x 2 1/2. I had originally printed them out at 3x3 not even thinking that I needed a smaller size otherwise they would go all the way up to the top. So I added a photo mat behind them as they were just blending into the background. I had a small skinny strip of the plaid paper that I cut and layered onto the top and bottom.

I pulled out the die cut stitched frames I had left over from making cards, the chipboard tags covered in a scrap piece of paper, three blue buttons,  two of the light blue flowers that were rescued from something I threw away, the felt flower ribbon and the "special" bead" . All of this was from my reject box.

I added the paperclip, small blue flower, label and the enamel dots from my stash.

After looking at the sketch again I added a few rub ons in each of the embellishment clusters.

As for my reject box I an officially out of Twine and Embroidery Yarn so I will be adding new to my Counterfeit Kit - Enjoy the Little Things.

the whole story

My previous layout used a sketch from Christy's Beautiful Life 30 Days of Sketches on her YouTube channel, I'm again using the sketch but this time for my guy's layouts. You can check out the details on day one here.

Since I had the leaves left over from the previous layout I added them to this one then stamped the tree and fuzzy cut it. I printed "the whole store" and " , , , and it goes" onto white cardstock for the title. I again colored the heart die cut red but also did one with a gold paint pen.

The brown circle was also in my reject box and I cut it in half to give the leaves and "the whole story" a starting place.

In case you are wondering from my reject box with 3 layouts completed I have used:
11 Sequins; 3 Map tags, 7 hearts that have been colored, 3 pieces of twine, 1 die cut circle, 3 labels, 1 3x4 project life card grid.
