Halloween Subway Art Day 10

Day 10 of the 12 Days of Halloween is some Subway Art.  I made my file 12x12 but sized it down in Photoshop to fit my picture frame.  I punched the spiderweb border to fit the inside of the frame.

I punched my spider web then cut at 1 1/2" then glued on top of the subway art.

Valentine Topper

I made a few bag toppers for my guys and here is one with the Valentine Subway or Word Art. Once again I printed onto photo paper, I have lots of 4x6 photo paper and I wanted the glossy look and this way I don't have to measure and cut.

Score and fold the 4x6 word art in half and glue a piece of red to the inside front. Center your sandwich baggie and staple. You could also punch a couple of holes and tie with yarn or ribbon, but my cookies are large and heavy so I wanted the extra support.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sandwich size zip lock bag, accent paper - I used a scrap of red, photo paper, adhesive and stapler.

Valentine Subway Art

I keep seeing around the Internet a lot of Valentine Subway or Word Art. I haven't made anything lately with Adobe Photoshop and thought that this is the perfect file to start off with.

My frame is a 4x6 and I sized the word art down to give me a white border all around the words when I placed it in the frame. I also printed mine on picture glossy photo paper but you could use any paper.

Thanks for stopping by.

June Desktop

This is for the monthly challenge at Digital Scrapbook Pages using the kit provided by Amanda Thordenson

I added in the Red Butterfly's as that was not part of the kit. I wanted the paper under the lyric to be a different than the one provided in the kit so I used my color grabber took and picked up the tan from the rick rack ribbon then used a couple of different overlays to get the finish I wanted.

When I make my desk tops I always add in a poem, quote or lyric. This time I used the lyric from Rascal Flatts "My Wish", and the Font creampuff. The green is picked up from the green diamonds on the middle paper.

Tiny Fingers layout

is another one that was inspired from a poem. I was surprised to lean that the New Arrival Cartridge did not have a baby hand on it. I made this one from the hand on the Going Places cartridge and cut the thumb and first finger down using my corner rounder punch.

Getting ready for Valentine's Day

I was at Splitcoast Stampers looking around and saw a card Silke Ledlow created and cased it, her blog is My Life.

I first embossed the red paper with the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder. I created the word art to fit into my 1 3/8" circle punch and printed it on white. The inner red circle is part of the word art. I then made a red circle and black scallop is made using the corner rounder punch. The heart is punched using the Folk Heart punch from Paper Shapers and the one side is cut down to fit into the circle and are on pop up dots. Add some black ribbon and a couple of gems and I have one card and tag done.

The ribbon is carried to the inside of the card and covered with another piece of the embossed red. The heart stamp is one from the Heartful of Love set.

If you would like the word art click here.

February Desktop

February's Wallpaper was a lot easier to make. I did have to change the size to accommodate the new monitor which is 1440 x 900. I used a digital kit by Teri Hanson called Love Inspired, you can find her shop here. I made the February calendar to fit into the punctuation frame. The frame is from Digital Compilations by Cinda and she can be found here. The word art used fonts Bell MT at 36pt and Scriptina for Tomorrow and Today at 125pt. Click here for the Calendar, here for the word art, and here if you want the wallpaper Template.

Wallpaper

Happy Saturday! One of my New Year Resolutions is to make a monthly wallpaper for my computer. I used a kit from Mandy Mistiques called Peachy Keen. The beads on a string is from a kit called Orchids by Digital Art by Steph. The sequin string and stamped frame I do not know who I downloaded them from.

I use Publisher a lot when I make my calendars, but I used Photoshop Elements 5 this time as I wanted a clear background. The saying is one I created using His Name is Honey, and Broken Ghost for the fonts. I then adjusted the opacity.

If you want to down load His Name is Honey can be found here, Broken Ghost here, my word art can be found here and the January Calendar here.

May Autumn's vibrant . . .

colors lend warmth to chilly days is the quote on my November calendar. You can download the word art here. I used Lucida Calligraphy, Italic 24 pt to type this and it is 3x3, but I printed on a 4x6 so I had room for cropping. I used my corner punch straight across the brown paper to create the edging on the saying.

The background paper is from the Rockstar Pack, the rest of the papers are from my scrap pile. I used my Cricut cartridge A Walk in My Garden for the flowers and Doodlecharms for the two types of leaves.

The flowers and leaves were chalked and detailed added with gel pens. Here is a couple close ups of them. I thinly cut green paper to add a little bit of dimension. The stems were free handed.

The small orange flowers in the corner are punched on orange card stock, pressed into a gold ink pad, and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Recipe: Cardstock: Rock Star Stack and scraps Cricut Cartridges: Walk In My Garden, Doodlecharms Misc: Gel Pens, Chalk, golden ink, clear embossing powder, flower punch, decorative corner punch, scissors, glue, pop up dots.

"Some men see things. . .

as they are and say "Why?" I dream of things that never were and say "Why Not?" - George Bernard Shaw

This layout is for the July Quote Challenge at Gotta Pixel. Last summer when I attended the IRS forum in Chicago we went to the pier and there was a couple of these boats coming into the harbor.

I used the red paper in this kit and overlayed it with a picture that did not turn out so well, but it looks great cropped and partially transparent. I used Missed your Exit and Black Chancery for the fonts. Click here for the word art.
