Feeding the Chickens

Here's another Dearie Dolls Digital Image.  He's such a sweetheart in his bib overalls.  I kept this card pretty simple.  I don't know about you but I am never sure what size I need to make the digital images when I print them off, so this one is a little bit bigger.

 

I just added a yellow punched border on the left side for some more contrast.

 

I finished off the inside with some more punching and a strip of the pattern paper on the right side.

Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day.  This is one of the many digital stamps I had downloaded and took with me to color on the trip to Austin.  I crocheted instead so I have been coloring these as time permits.

 

 

I don't normally use yellow as the base for a card, but I thought it went well with how I colored this one. It's a pretty simple card and everything is made out of what I had in my scrap pile.

 

I made the pinwheel out of 1 1/4" squares and added a button to the center of each one.

Pumpkin Girl

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by.  I've got another fall/Thanksgiving card to share today.  I've used another Digital Image instead of a stamp today.

 

I added the blue paper on the left to tie into her shirt color, then punched a border to help highlight it a little more. I had just that little bit of red punched paper so I cut it into and added it to the bottom of the card.

Never forget

This post in in honor of Sept 11th.  I used another digital image for this card.

 

I colored the image with water color pencils then cut it out.  I used scissors to cut around the flag then matted it onto black card stock.  I wrapped some left over yarn around the side of the card before I glued everything down.

 

 

 

I finished off the inside with a border punch and some more of the blue cardstock.

Sassy Studio Sock Hop and Paper Craft Planet's Birthday

The Paper Craft Planet's Progressive challenge this month is to use Sassy Studio's Sock Hop image and a Happy Birthday Theme.

I decided to make a small heart gift box for the backdrop of my image.  Using the Heart Box template I traced and cut out all of the pieces of the box, then cut patterned papers to fit the sides, lid and bottom. I forgot how long it takes to hand cut all the elements out instead of using my Cricut.

Next I printed out my Sassy Studio image and colored her in. I thought she need some definition so I glued her to a piece of black cardstock and cut her out again. She now stands out better against the box.
 

For my box top I pulled out my jar of premade flowers and selected a few that went with the colors on the box. A few bead and scraps of ribbon tucked around and my lid is finished.

I wrapped the sentiment around a toothpick, added a bead to the top and my Happy Birthday Flag is complete.

To make the Post It Note Holder I cut the black card stock at 3 5/8" x 8 1/2" then scored at 2", 2 3/8", 5 1/2" and 5 7/8".

Army Honey

This month the Paper Craft Planet Challenge this month is to use Army Honey, then Air Force Honey and finally Sailor Honey digital images on a project. I making Post it Note Holders as my projects.

First up is Army Honey.

 

Once again I used a bunch of colored pencils to color in my image. I resized her in photo shop to 2" inches wide which makes the length about 3 5/8".  This is the perfect size for my Post It Note Holders.

 

 

I've added a magnet to the side as a closure.

Operation Write Home

I used Sketch #162 from the Operation Write Home blog for this card.

It worked perfectly for this digital image.

I started with a piece of green embossed card stock then layered the Simple Simon pattern papers and my digital image.

 

For the next card  I layered onto a a white embossed pieced of card stock and cut my image out using a Spellbinders Nestabillity die.

 

 

I stamped then punched out the "4 You" sentiment and attached it with a bow to the card front.

 

I finished off the inside with a pieces of the pattern paper matted onto the red paper.

One must have . . .

Splitcoaststampers has the flat backed treat box as this weeks tutorial and I thought I would give it a try.  I used the Lattice die from Stampin' Up behind my front. I keep a bunch of them pre-cut so that I can add them quickly to a project. I wrapped some seam binding around the lattice die and added a side bow.

I'm using a digital image by Dearie Dolls instead of stamping for the front of my card.  I have the image on pop up dots for some additional dimension.

I added a silk sunflower to the top of the candy box.

 

I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock and made it into a banner for the front of the box.  I added a button with thread to finish off the banner.
